It'll be nice to see the old toasters, I do hope we get to see some action there. As far as the Pegasus goes, my thought was always that it turned tail and ran when the fight started, leaving others to die. I guess we'll see.
Oh God, the George Lucas prequels argument. "Made for kids" does not excuse people stepping in poo and fart jokes in Star Wars. And it doesn't excuse some of the poor choices Kawamori has made in the past 15 years.
And I know things are a tad different in Japan, but Macross Plus was NOT aimed at kids. Neither was Zero, for that matter.
Yes, yes it does. You show me a CGI TV series that was of a higher quality than the trailer we saw, and you can start your argument. Until then, you have none.
Macross 7 makes much more sense looking at it as a parody. Even with that, the show is severely hurt by low production values and too high of an episode count.
But this is all totally besides the point. What we have to hope for is a production that exceeds what Macross Zero was. I don't think the franchise can afford another dud like that. Its been 12 years since Macross Plus...
Your analogy is poor at best. You are talking about a TV series length production, compared to what adds up to a few minutes of computer animation produced for a video game.
Hey, the Dune film had better special effects than the TV mini-series made 20 years later.
Audio is once again sub-par, but the subs are getting better. They sure do like dropping the f-bomb every chance they get.
I'm waiting to see what the pay off is going to be with what they are setting up here. I personally find the series alot less interesting without Kamina, and I am waiting for Simon to step into that role as you see him at the very beginning of episode 1.
Why oh why couldn't the prequel trilogy have been this?
Yeah, ok, so anyways, looks kickass, I would assume this is coming out in 2008. Frank Oz is voicing Yoda, BTW.
