  1. BTW, don't go by anything you read in the bad sub. There is a far surperior one out now, and things are very different. And there is info about the characters and their relationships on MW's Macross F page. As far as the Macross 8 goes, I'm pretty sure that's a 6 and not an 8, but I'll take another look.
  2. Search function is your friend! From Eden: Macross 6 Macross 9 Macross 11 Macross 15 Macross 17 Macross 19 Macross 20 Macross 21 (The Galaxy) Macross 23 Macross 24
  3. Couple of Master Replicas Lightsabers (oh God, I'm one of THOSE fans now... I didn't ask for them, though!), some DVDs, a bronze statue of Takeda Shingen, a 1:48 Roy and Super/Strike set.
  4. Both the President and Ozma say something to the effect of, "they're here". Watching the new subs, its pretty clear the code "Victor 3" to the SMS was specifically refering to these SM. They knew they were out there. And the SMS is a "private" organization with the latest, state of the art fighters and weaponry... there is much more to this. Early in the episode, when the Frontier is first introduced, its stated that the Frontier "was continuing its journey toward the center of the galaxy". Makes me wonder what is there, and I suspect, from the reaction of the President and the SMS that perhaps they didn't expect to run into these SM that far out from the galactic core.
  5. You know, having this new sub release out... I had no idea how suggestive the lyrics of "Don't Be Late" are. Sheryl, you naughty girl!
  6. That's what's on the fighters, Zin, but the logo on the uniforms is clearly different. Hell, not only is it different, its reversed. And its consistently drawn that way on all the uniforms. We could be wrong, we won't really know for sure until the series is out and we some really good static images of the insignia. And you're still wrong about the timeline thing, but that's ok. When Keith and I both agree on the same thing, you can take it as fact. Plus, its the reasonable conclusion to make.
  7. The Shinsen subs are much better. The names they use are a bit off from what we know, though, and there are a few spots I'm not sure they got it right. But its still head and shoulders about the first release.
  8. The torrent for the special has been up on TT for 2 days, but it leads to a dead link when you try to download.
  9. If Ridley had done Dune, Lynch would have done Jedi. How different things would be.
  10. I get the feeling that Ranka is meant to be the singing star of this show. I think Sheryl is some sort of catalyst, or a beacon. Whatever she is, I don't think you'll be seeing her flying out at the Space Monsters with speaks on a Valkyrie.
  11. I think the days of the "Minmay Attack" are behind us.
  12. I think the special treatment torqued him off, especially considering you didn't see any of the soldiers trying to help the concert goers, who we see fleeing and panicing in the streets. It seemed like he was barking more at Katherine Glass than Sheryl, anyway.
  13. Zinjo, I was going to reply to your last big post, but you are so way far off base... and this is coming from me. As Keith pointed out, the NUNS insignia looks very similiar to the Zentradi one: We really don't know what is going on with the continuity. Its clearly undergone more retcon (something Kawamori has been pushing heavily for a decade). With a great amount of certainy I will say no matter what the imigration sequence shows, the Earth didn't spawn 11 colonization fleets in 2012, and Eden didn't spawn 9 more in 2013. Its a dramatization, meant to show how mankind spread out amongst the stars. That said, this screenshot was certainly interesting. It seems the Megaroad-01 didn't disappear and it certainly wasn't anywhere near the galactic core. What I gathered from watching the first episode is that it is no mistake that Sheryl was brought to the Frontier with its proximity to the galactic core (from the Macross Galaxy, which is trailing slightly behind the Frontier), and that the powers that be were expecting the alien response it got. Also, the "Space Monsters" weren't attacking the fleet, they were after something on board the Frontier. Some other thoughts: Sheryl Nome would seem to be the grandaughter of Mao Nome, or it could be something more... convoluted. The birthmark on Sheryl's leg is not there to add "flavor" to the character, its got to be a plot device. The BRSM (Big Red Space Monster ) seemed very interested in Ranka. Will Ozma take down the BRSM in episode 2, exposing a pilot inside (a la SDF Macross), or is it a living, bio-mechanical creature? Who is running the fleet, NUNS or the Frontier President? Just who and what are the SMS? Its not as simple as them just being a private defense force. I've seen alot of questions posted that are answered, to varying degrees, here: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/Macros...ross_F_Main.htm
  14. Mmmm, royalty checks!
  15. Yeah, I posted that a bit back, you first see the birthmark in the opening scene when she is in... stasis for the fold(?).
  16. I do not think that sequence is meant to be taken as all of those ships leaving at the same time.
  17. Yes, but the Compendium shows Eden being discovered and colonized in 2013, the Megaroad-04 (shown as the ship that discovered it in 2013 in Macross F) didn't launch until 2014 at the earliest, if not 2015.
  18. The problem is that the Megaroad-04 hadn't launched at that point: 2014 Admiral Bruno J. Global's installment as U.N. Government representative. Launches of the second and third super-long-distance colonization fleet (Megaroad-02 and -03 ships). Hereafter, super-long-distance colonization fleets are routinely launched. Speaking of the Compendium, where did Egan go?
  19. Anyone else notice the odd birthmark(??) on Sheryl in the very opening scene? I can't imagine that was just thrown in for flavor.
