From TheForce.net: ... KotOR III Artwork Uncovered? Posted By Mike on March 1, 2008 See the related links below for our ongoing coverage and hopes for a new KOTOR game. On that note, N4G.com is reporting that they have stumbled across a hidden folder at JZConcepts.com, website of LucasArts artist James Zhang that contains concept art for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic III. The source article mentions that this could be from an old canceled project or a new one. Naturally our hopes are for a new game, which would certianly fall in line with the rumors swirling around the good old interweb. Though nothing has been officially announced, this seems to comfirm that the game was at least in the works at some point. Click here for a look at some of the artwork. UPDATE: Our friends at EUCantina.Net did some following up with artist James Zhang and here is what he had to say about the KOTOR 3 artwork: “I’ve never used photobucket — those images were swiped off a private folder on my website, and certainly weren’t intended for public use.” “I can’t really comment on anything regarding the images.” Well, that's certainly not a denial about KOTOR 3. We still have hope until we hear something official one way or another. ...

Not the place for this discussion, but I think you need to stop basing your knowledge of paramilitary forces on video games, movies, and comic books. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it mentioned somewhere that Ozma was either kicked out of or denied entry as a pilot into NUNS? I am curious to see exactly who these people who make up the SMS are, how did they end up there. -
Here is a take: Rachel is the unicorn who let down her guard, having fallen asleep in Deckard's "lap", thus allowing Gaff, the hunter, to make his move. However, he let her live, and he let Deckard leave.
-
Of unicorns, Leonardo DiVinci said, "The unicorn, through its intemperance and not knowing how to control itself, for the love it bears to fair maidens forgets its ferocity and wildness; and laying aside all fear it will go up to a seated damsel and go to sleep in her lap, and thus the hunters take it." It's symbolic meaning in the film isn't anywhere near as clear as the chicken and the, uh, erect man.

Uh huh, independent contractors. Paramilitary force. -
Somebody did, because its used in the mvk release.
-
What is Genius party? Looks like some sort of new Robot Carnival-ish deal.
-
The Unicorn to me always meant that Gaff had been there, he knows she is there, and he's let her live. He's basically telling Deckard he's free to go.

I mean, here's a guy who is dead inside. The demons from his years as a Blade Runner and living in that hell hole of a city totally drained any sense of life out of this guy. And it takes 2 Replicants, these synthetic beings he's supposed to be hunting and killing, to bring him back to life, so to speak. There is no story otherwise. Ridley Scott just has his head up his backside on this one.
-
So says Ridley Scott, but it was never the intention of the script writer for him to be so, and Harrinson Ford doesn't see him as one. Not only that, him being a Replicant totally ruins what this movie is about, a guy who has forgotten what its like to really live, to be human, who in the end comes to rediscover his humanity through people who are not human at all. His character works because, in the end, they are both searching for the same thing, and only through them can he find it. That's what makes the movie so powerful. Otherwise its just a sci-fi action flick with a cliched plot twist.

I'd like to buy this in the US, I really would. Just not an option for any of us here, hell, anyone outside of Japan.

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0

Hurin's house. -
Well, its based on the manga, not the anime, so that is a plus. And he's not directly involved, just his production company is.

High Definition Media & Technology Thread

The real winners are those who waited and didn't go with either format. Now we get to wait for Blu-ray player prices to drop over the next year, and we can transition over without any worry. -
I want to push that thread for a sticky. I've discovered several wonderful anime series because of it, and I am sure others have as well.
-
The show was a convoluted mess. I don't know exactly what else there is to say about it. This stuff is never as hard to remake as they make it seem to be. And in the process, they hose it all up.

Talking game engine, LB.
-
I don't think that was ever in question. A level 1 toon is not going to be able to say, take on a level 60. Or even a level 5 for that matter.
-
Which all totally work. It doesn't have to be force-user exclusive, you just have to be very particular what other classes you stick in the game. a Republic soldier is not going to be able to take on a Jedi, but a Mandalorian could. Hell, even the more skilled bounty hunters. I'm sure you could expand upon this even further, cybernetic beings and the like. Droids. But again, you have to be careful, these classes have to balance out to an extent. No Jedi Masters, no Sith Lords, no cannon fodder foot soldiers. Knock out the extremes at either end.
-
But somehow games like Everquest and WoW got away with wizards and warriors, rogues and rangers, yet a Star Wars MMO couldn't? Hell, the reason why we even has these classes is because the KotOR games were based on a pre-existing fantasy game engine. KotOR is ready-made for MMO.
-
For the record, Tobi helped me work out the issues with the mkv, the problem now is one of frame rate. Things are a bit herky jerk when the camera pans. Not quite sure how to fix that issue yet.
-
And not one of the games you listed could be made as an MMO. You are correct, they tried adding this single Jedi class into a game filled with non-force users. The idea is to have a game based around and focused on force users. Jedi Sentinels, Guardians, Consulars, Weapon Masters, Watchmen, Masters; Sith Sentinels, Guardians, Consulars, Marauders, Assassins, Lords... Jedi civil war, Jedi vs Sith, hell, you can even throw the Mandalorians in there. This is where the Star Wars MMO money is. 10 million people don't play WoW to play a castle guard, or a foot soldier. People don't want to play grunts. These KotOR classes fit very neatly into the fantasy archetypes that almost all of the MMOs use.
-
I'm pretty sure somewhere there is a quote from Bioware saying that are indeed working on a Star Wars game, but no details were given beyond that. As far as SWG goes, people want to play Jedi. That's a fact. This is a serious problem when based in the saga timeline. You aren't going to get millions of users and seriously compete if you are forcing players into playing storm troopers, rebels, and bounty hunters.
-
LucasArts says: "Yes, we are working with BioWare. We've announced that we're working with the developer on a project, but it has nothing to do with Knights of the Old Republic."
