    FF13 isn't really Final Fantasy, its more like Phantasy Star meets, I dunno, Star Ocean. It has guns and mecha and... man, Square had me all excited that 14 would be going back to the series' roots, and it turns out to be an MMO. I mean, really, this was the big secret Sony was hiding? An MMO that maybe 100 or 200 thousand people will play?

    Hey, I love the hell out of TFU. I honestly do not feel that Jedi Knight II was a better game than it (and I played the hell out of that game, and it got great reviews and is well regarded). The control scheme that some people seem to complain about is much, much better than the stumbling and bumbling joke that is GTA4 (another game which I enjoy alot). But, whichever. I liked it, and that's enough for me.

    Really, outside of The Last Guardian, I really didn't give a flying flarn. The FF14 news is just a complete failure.

    My guess is Sony didn't want to be second with this announcement, so they are waiting on Konami to "announce" it for the PS3 (and PC) at their press event. Either that, or its possible its a "timed" exclusive for the 360.

    Their biggest announcement ended in a facepalm when they revealed FF14 to be an MMO. Had that been a straight up, old school (read: not sci fi) FF game, it would have been the biggest news of E3. Instead we get shat on. They also wasted half of their press conference on the dildo thing.

    Joystiq's take: "The game is set in the 1970s, 10 years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3. It will star, yet again, Big Boss and will take place in Costa Rica, divulging the back story of Outer Heaven's creation. It will debut in 2010."

    MSG: Peace Walker officially announced, looks to be a multi-player co-op for the PSP. Big Boss circa the 70's, actual gameplay footage shown.

    I find this unlikely. You make it sound like Robotech is some Transformers or GI Joe sized property. A vast majority of Americans have no idea what Robotech is.

    I also have My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service (granted, I am a long time Miyazaki fan). My tastes are varied.

    So I have been reading for three weeks that Sony is going to have some earth shattering announcement at E3 this year, and that they have clamped down hard on any mention of what it might be. I guess the buzz picked up again today amongst the press at E3. So, I spent about an hour or so trying to figure out what it could possibly be with a friend of mine this evening, and anything short of a FF7 remake just didn't impress us that much. After how lame the MS press conference was, I can't imagine Sony is really going to be able to come up with something that really blows me out of the water tomorrow. Or even anything that really impresses me.
