  1. "The Plan" isn't a plan. Well, it was, but its as much of "a plan" as a baseball player saying, "I am going to hit the ball with my bat." Well, duh. I guess I expected some reasoning or motive behind the Cylon actions beyond what we've already heard. Unnecessary TV movie was unnecessary.
  2. Dramatic license aside, Lawrence of Arabia actually happened...
  3. Irony is ironic: How many older stories stories has Disney slapped their name on (and had them become associated with them) that they had nothing to do with outside of animating them?
  4. Didn't we go through this already with Cameron and Terminator?
  5. Go see it for the 3D effects. It's worth it.
  6. This is one of those instances where no matter how bad the movie may potentially be, you have to go see it (assuming you are over the age of 30 and grew up watching it).
  7. Watch out, Gone with the Wind fanboys are loose!
  8. Including the "beat you over the head" ending? I really like The Abyss, but the extended ending is weak and unnecessary. It's as if he decided he wanted to make an entire movie like the ending of the extended cut of The Abyss, and made Avatar. I have ALOT of problems with this film, but I enjoyed seeing it in the theaters in 3D. If people can see it in 3D, I recommend that they see it. I just feel let down by Cameron; I expected much more out of this film.
  9. How can you hate Titanic? Kate Winslet is in it!
  10. LOL, right. Which is why I've seen every movie he's done besides his first two (Piranha II and The Terminator) in the theater during their run, and have them all on DVD. Clearly, I hate the man.
  11. I don't see how you could, Cameron beat that dead horse into glue and pulp.
  12. I found the base message to be "Humans are bad, you should feel bad about being one." It was so heavy handed, so beat you over the head with it... ugh.
  13. None of these numbers impress me. Adjusted for inflation, Gone With the Wind is still number 1 all time at the box office. 3D ticket prices inflate Avatar's take even more.
  14. From Joystiq.com: Really, James? This is the kind of crap from Cameron I was complaining about earlier.
  15. I agree. Watching Haruhi does not allow me to travel through time or transmute sticky-notes into dollar bills.
  16. That pretty much sums it up right there. You strip away the 3D effects, and it's a movie that's not even really worth buying on DVD. Not sure I'd stop to watch it if it were on cable. The 3D effects are perhaps the sole reason to see it.
  17. Considering how mediocre his first idea was, I don't have faith in him continuing the story.
  18. They still make those? It comes out 2010.
  19. Blade Runner deals with environmental destruction and the rights of living creatures far more effectively and intelligently than Avatar.
  20. Well, if it's as good as the first one, I'm looking forward to losing hours of my life running around killing stuff with a lightsaber again.
  21. I'm a moderate/independent sort of guy, but the amount of beat you over the head self-hate in Avatar is suffocating.
