    Saw it this afternoon. It was fine. Second half was better than the first half. Kinda goofy in that James Gunn sorta way. Definitely better than that dark and gritty nonsense Zack Snyder did. Not as good as the original Superman movie.

    It should have been a Lando movie. Donald Glover is just so great and charismatic in that role, I'm really more interested in what he has going on.

    100% this. Rogue One is easily the third best Star Wars movie. Jedi has nonsensical plotting, bad acting (even Ford is mailing it in), and teddy bears defeating Imperial Storm Troopers. Jedi isn't even the fourth-best Star Wars film.

    This is not what happened. Well, correction, they brought JJ back on board to steer things back toward the first movie after the second one ruffled feathers. That did happen. But there was no change in course after the first one. They've been really open about this: they gave Rian creative control over the second movie. He could do what he wanted, and he did. But there was no change in course after the first movie by Disney or Lucasfilm. The movie was a massive hit and did well with critics.

    They lost faith after TFA made $2 billion at the box office? That makes no sense. Neither Disney nor Lucasfilm decided on a story direction change after TFA. Rian Johnson did, and he was given the creative freedom to do so. And the Carrie Fisher died, and the plans for the third film got turned upside down.

    I've seen several reports now that she's playing the bad guy.

    I wasn't able to suspend my disbelief through any of this, and I immensely dislike the implications of the ending. I'm not sure who the audience for this is supposed to be. It had the logic of a kids' cartoon, but the violence of something for adults.

    I watched the first of the three stories and this really comes across as an animated 300 with the Predator in it. Don't expect anything grounded here. The humans are superhuman and the Predator is Hulk-sized.

    They have not shied away from this with Ahsoka. Edit: off the top of my head, she's lost to Maul, Vader, and Baylan.

    There is plenty of male vs female combat in Star Wars, so I'm not buying that at all. That some women occasionally come into conflict with one another is natural. It's not some forced trope. Hell, him using Ahsoka as an example makes this thinking even more ridiculous. She's fought just about everyone.

    I wouldn't mind seeing some of these Imperial characters back in a "Judgement at Nuremberg" type production.
