  1. I'm a pretty big Miami Vice fan and am jazzed they're setting this in the 80s. I'm a little anxious about who they'll cast, though.
  2. Sneakers is probably my favorite amongst his films. Also really fond of The Sting, All the President's Men, and The Natural. My favorite directorial effort of his is A River Runs Through It.
  3. Mia Goth is the villain. Unknown who Matt Smith is playing as of yet.
  4. Hell of a cast. And an Oscar-winning cinematographer.
  5. DAN DA DAN S2: this show is hit or miss with me. I want to like it more than I do. Clevatess S1: not caught up with this quite yet, but I am digging it so far. Gachiakatu S1: don't love the character designs, but Bones and Katsuyuki Konishi got me to check it out. Interesting so far. Kaiju No.8 S2: another show I want to like more than I do. I kinda want it to be more ridiculous than it is.
  6. This could probably use a title change. I assumed this was yet another James Cameron Avatar sequel.
  7. I stopped watching Marvel productions after BP2 (not because of that movie; I was just burned out), but from everything I had seen before that, this is the most "comic book" movie they've made. You would not confuse this for even mildly-serious science fiction. If I had one real criticism of the movie, it would be it did not lean into the aesthetic and vibe hard enough. It goes half way to that earlier-era, Donner Superman earnestness and innocence, when I feel it should have gone full-out.
  8. I need to add, I'll never watch this movie again. It's not THAT good.
  9. Fantastic Four is better than Superman. I'd say significantly. Straightforward story, not overstuffed with plot or characters, and you don't need to know anything going in.
  10. The Pitt and Andor were the best two drama series this past year, but it's likely neither will win. As I've been saying for years, these award shows are meaningless. You can't even use award shows as a way to discover things you might not have seen but should. You look at how many noms White Lotus season 3 got, and it's not good. Someone might see that and go, ya know, maybe I should check it out. No.
  11. Ok, but it has precedence. Gunn didn't come up with it on his own. So, people who are flipping tables over this and walking out of theaters because of it need to check their lore.
