Macross Ace Frontier for the PSP.
Mellow Yellow replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Wow, no need for pandora anymore? I knew you could make hard modded pandoras, but to do away with it altogether is pretty cool. Guess my info is a bit out of date, seeing as I made my pandora battery and memory stick files 3 months ago -

You are correct that it requires a battery and memory stick to mod. With those two items you can downgrade any official Sony firmware, past, present and future and install a custom firmware on your psp as well as bring back bricked psp's from the dead. However, you will need a psp already running custom firmware or know someone who has one to make the pandora battery and magic memory stick (or just buy a psp that has already been modded). Aside from being able to play psp iso's and virtually any ps1 game, there is also lots of nifty homebrew you can use on custom firmware that the official Sony firmware cannot run. For instance, I've got a comic book reader, e-book reader and a bunch of emulators on mine (SNES, Genesis, GBA, MSX) as well as PSPtube, which you can search and stream youtube videos as well as save and play .flv video files offline. Hope I haven't completely gone off topic, but that's a small insight into modded custom firmware psp's -

I've played VF-X2 on my modded psp as well (an eboot loaded onto the memory stick, not thru remote play). I made it to the VA-3M submarine level, which is the worst level ever. Without proper L2 and R2 buttons it makes it hard to constantly change speed and modes effectively. I can only imagine what a nightmare it would be on the level where you take on all those ghosts hehe. -
Well, it's in english, just that it's one huge honkin' run-on sentence. Needs moar punctuation.

For a box it says 2,400 yen (around $22.80 CDN) for EMS and 1,880 yen (around $17.80 CDN) for SAL. EMS takes around 5 days to arrive. I haven't used SAL to ship anything in ages, but I think it takes around 3 weeks to get to me here in North Van. Also, be prepared to pay anywhere from $8 - $13 in duty fees because HLJ doesn't mark their packages as "gift". Generally, I use HLJ as a last resort. I jumped ship to Hobby Search when HLJ screwed me on 2 pre-orders and I had to go elsewhere before everywhere else got sold out. Hobby Search also marks their packages as "gift" and out of the 5 or so times I've ordered from them I had to pay duty fees maybe twice. The only thing with Hobby Search is that they only have EMS as a shipping option, no SAL.

Have you seen the Japanese hardware sales charts? http://kotaku.com/5020116/playstation-3-fa...ts#viewcomments The Japanese seem to be handheld crazy over there. PSP has been the number one seller every week for the past 3 months ever since Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G was released, and I'm guessing the recently released Super Robot Taisen A Portable will carry it a bit longer. Prior to Monster Hunter, it was nothing but DS and Wii on top, week in and week out (I wanted to gouge my eyes out lol). That's why Macross Ace Frontier is going to be on PSP, plus it's cheaper to make on a handheld, like Cacophanus mentioned. Prior to MGS4, PS3 sales were pitiful (around even with PS2!). Japanese developers just don't seem to want to put the time and money into developing titles for PS3 that don't look like they could have been made on a PS2, which is kinda sad. -

SDF-1 was detroyed? When did this happen?? Also, I don't see how it could be the SDF-2 (Megaroad-01) since it was a non transforming colony ship, essentially a city dome with engines. -
For online, it's retarded that you can cqc your own team. This one game a person on my team kept choking me and another guy unconscious, leaving us easy prey for the enemy to pick off

Best game I have ever played. I finished it a couple days ago and Chapter 4 was what finally cemented it for me. The bad thing tho was I finished with 501 kills. I didn't know if it's possible for those rebels to win more battles past the power station so I just kept killing, hoping to help them win I think I'll try for pure stealth on my second run thru

Trailer/teaser here: http://www.kotobukiya.co.jp/kotobukiya/spe.../klb/movie.html Also, a pvc figure of this character in the figure section of the page. All black hotness with a sword, which I will probably buy

I played this a few months back. Melee combat is pretty intense 1vs1 when you get into it. It got kinda boring after I finally purchased that giant revolver rocket launcher (it kinda sucks imo lol). Pretty cool game overall, but if you keep going on huge death streaks you won't get enough points to keep your mecha parts durability up, forcing you to use the ghetto default frame lol.

Dunno if these will help, but they're the best I could do. I'm sure somewhere out there in the vast intrawebs, better Swordfish II line art exists, but this all that was in my Cowboy Bebop Sunrise Art Works book. I darkened the first scan cuz it's really hard to see some of the art, even in the actual book, lol.

If HLJ is right and these are actually keychains, I don't see why they would have a chase figure. Bandai's other keychain sets such as Bleach and Naruto don't seem to have them (also 2,000 Yen per box of 10). Besides, at this price, who wouldn't want one full set and a few doubles (possibly even a second, full set) of SD Macross F keychain cuteness when Toyslogic is selling them at basically the same price for only one set

If you've seen the Macross 25th special, there's a part where it shows a CG model transformation of the VF-27. Here's a couple screenshots: -
Have you tried taking the boat? Also, fighting back just makes things worse/kills you faster. I just ran down the center corridor of that hospital on my 3rd try, without firing a shot, pushing my way thru cops and I saw the boat when I was about to find a getaway car, lol.

People seem to associate emo with pretty much anything these days, which I find quite lame. So Alto wanted to eagerly kick lobster ass and got a punch in the face. I too fail to see how this makes him emo. Kira yamato and Shin Asuka? Hell yes those guys are emo, but not Alto. To quote the hilarious urbandictionary: Emo A group of white, mostly middle-class well-off kids who find imperfections in there life and create a ridiculous, depressing melodrama around each one. They often take anti-depressants, even though the majority don't need them. They need to wake up and deal with life like everyone else instead of wallowing in their imaginary quagmire of torment. also, Somehow, people decided that "emo" meant "emotional," which is obviously bullshit, as 99% of bands make music to illicit emotion, which would make "emotional" a completely all-encompassing genre from classical to opera to pop to rap. -

Awesome! Thanks for these scans. I've been trying to build a lego VF-25 in MLCad, wondering how the heck Kawamori did it from the handful of screencaps out there. These scans will make it a bit easier -

Well, I installed the latest versions of the cccp pack and VLC, but it still has the same problems as before. I just downloaded the good 'ol divx raw and ripped the subs from the Gattai MKV (before realizing they were up on the front page hehe). I think this is how I'll watch Macross F on my initial viewing, then download the AiA/anyone but Gattai for archival purposes at a later time. -

Bleargh, I've been using cccp for 3 years and I've never been able to get this high res h264 bs to run smoothly on my 2GHz cpu. Media player classic's video is 2 seconds behind the audio and VLC is constantly alternating between smooth and choppy video Shouta, please save us (or at least me) with your superior release -

For challenge 2 just keep doing the L+triangle move fully charged in the air with the Gauntlet of Zeus. Make sure to do it over as many of them as possible or you'll get stabbed in the back from that one guy that was just out of range while you're recovering on the ground (like I did with the final guard, which made me have to do the challenge several times more to pass ). I love the blades of chaos, but it's suicide to fight on the ground so I had to switch to aerial gauntlet spam just to keep sane for that challenge
