They're articulated at the neck, shoulders, wrists, waist and hips. No elbow or knee articulation, unfortunately. These things are mostly for looks.

I just got me a few of these. They're not very poseable, but they look really great for being barely three inches tall. All the parts are interchangeable too, and they stand up just fine. Others here have asked that question many times before. I wouldn't mind seeing an update of the classic designs and characters using today's animation. It would be good to see the series that started it all, looking state-of-the-art but retaining all of the elements that made us love it in the first place. But I doubt it's going to happen. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'd have to agree on that armor. It's pretty damned fugly. But a shining white Convoy clone always looked neat to me. prime damn it. convoy was mecha. Optimus prime was the character in tf. His lool may ghave been based on convoy the toy but he did nto look much like convoy nor is he a mecha. I realize that. I'm not talking about Hasbro's 20th Anniversary Masterpiece Optimus Prime, though. If I were, I'd have said so. I was referring to Takara's Masterpiece Convoy.

If Takara manages to make a Masterpiece Megatron that looks as good in robot mode as Masterpiece Convoy does, I'll be very impressed. Convoy's basic design was a lot easier to make a good-looking robot mode out of than Megatron's. Poor Megatron always did look funky by comparison. Here's hoping.

I buy these things because I was never allowed to spend my money on the things I wanted when I was younger. Christmas and birthdays were only two days out of the year. Besides, the technology today blows away most of the toys I had as a kid.. of course they're going to get my money. Buy what you like.

Your vendor probably just hasn't seen the Minmay variant yet. She comes in a normal-colored version and a second version in which she is painted in lighter colors. Apparently, the lighter colors are to emulate one of Haruhiko Mikimoto's painted illustrations of Minmay in that scene. "Portrait" Minmay Normal Minmay I'm pretty sure that the Hikaru cockpit diorama is still the "rare" figure though.

Maybe I'm going to see a lot of repeats, but I'm just curious. There seem to be a lot of customs flying around in here lately, and I'm wondering what kinds of custom work you want to do on your Macross/anime toys. What do you want to customize for yourself?

Yeah. I have a few customs I want to make, and they'd certainly benefit from good-looking custom hands like those. Keep us posted.
