  1. Crazy as it sounds, I would love a Jun figure based on the version in the 90's reboot. Although.......with her uniform on I guess you wouldn't be able to tell what version she is?
  2. ^^^Good Lord, even the first AvP in '98 didn't have AI that ridiculous. As I said before, too many hands got involved here trying to make a "wunder-project" and when it got too complicated and the pressure was on to release it, they just said screw it and sent it out unfinished. BTW, what did you guys think about AvP 2010? I really enjoyed that one, although I take it many others did not. If so, why?
  3. Yup, just like any other sci-fi/fantasy story, everything looks cooler the further back we go in time. I have to say though, if Boomer had had a Raptor with a tail gun maybe she and Helo wouldn't have had to set down on Caprica for repairs. Why would anyone delete such a feature? Peace-time design Raptor, I suppose?
  4. Agreed, and if you want to have the horsepower to run the games you have to pay a premium for the right rig or you'll be paying console prices every couple of years just to buy parts in order to keep up with the technology; there's definitely something to be said about a console's simplicity...
  5. Wow, that was EXCELLENT, lol, and probably the best comprehensive review to date; that guy covered everything. He did point out some "good" aspects of the game, with respect to the level details, object design, sound production, and the general atmosphere, so I will probably pick this up just because of those things. The one thing that TRULY bothers me is the alledgedly wonky AI; I love Aliens for being hostile, powerful and intelligent but it seems we don't get that here. One thing I might say is that the many hands that took part in creating this game probably caused all of its issues...
  6. Yup, showed Call of Duty on my laptop to a "professional/tournament" player of the game and he was blown away by the difference in graphics and sound...
  7. It's on sale? Anyway back in '98 the only reason why I bothered to buy a personal computer wasn't for school, business or even PRON it was so I could play the seminal Alien Vs. Predator. When I went into the dealer I said "Look, just build me a system that can play AvP and play it well." I still love every AvP game and to say I'm disappointed with this newest iteration is an understatement. Did the same people that made the previous games have a hand in this one as well?
  8. Is that a new feature? I can remember moping about on Steam forums with other gamers about the issue. I really am out of touch with these sorts of things...
  9. I feel the same way. It's ridiculous that I have this super-duper laptop that can play any game on the market with max settings BUT......................ONLY if I have a capable internet connection, especially if it's a Steam game. I realize the game is their property and they can do what they want with it, but c'mon now. BTW I still have all of my old consoles as well. I think I've got everything but the Jaguar CD drive and the 3DO...
  10. The Last Boy Scout. Now THERE was an 80's grizzly tough guy movie, if there ever was one...
  11. No pricing or even what the system looks like. Call me shallow but how a system looks is important to me. Now, I realize they'll unveil the system and the pricing at E3, but I'm just impatient. Thanks for the heads up Mr. March...
  12. Rick doesn't strike me as the payback type, so it will be interesting if the writers do send him down that path...
  13. ^^^Thank God for the mute button, lol...
  14. Guess I'll just dig out my copy of AvP: Extinction instead....
  15. Guess I'll just continue to be the outcast guys-IMO the Galaxy Class is one of the best designs ever to grace the Trek Universe. Every curvaceous angle of that giant looking ship exuded power and grace all at once. You guys remember those DS9 episodes where they had multiple Galaxy classes just gliding through the Cardassian/Jem H'dar fleets, leaving them in ruin? Awesome. Now the Sovereign and the Excelsior and the '09 Trek Ent's, those two designs I could never convince myself to like...
  16. So did you see last night's episode? Wha'd you think?
  17. Wait....what.....what is that? What's happening?
  18. Thanks 'Az, I'll give it a shot. Edit: Actually that brings up another question: if I decide that the drive is bad do I just buy a new OEM replacement, or can I stick in a newer drive? Aren't these things proprietary?
  19. Quick question guys: is there a series of tests or are there tell-tale signs that an optical drive is on its way out? I bought Skyfall on blu-ray and found out it wouldn't load past the 20th century Fox fanfare. I then tried the DVD copy and the machine didn't like that one either, although it eventually played it. This is all on my Toshiba Qosmio x505-898 laptop, and every other blu-ray or DVD has been fine until now; the last blu-ray I bought was End of Watch which was just a coupla' months ago and it works fine. Driver's are all updated and all of that other stuff. I tried playing it in my 60G PS3 and with SOME difficulty the blu-ray played. With the possibility of a bad disc in mind I swapped it out with another copy from Wal*Mart, but same results. A replacement drive for this machine is relatively cheap, but I was hoping there was something I could look into before I start taking things apart. I take my laptop EVERYWHERE so could it be dirty? I was under the impression you couldn't clean blu-ray drive lens. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  20. Supposedly that patch was supposed to cure the collision detection issue, but I haven't heard anyone crying "Halleluja!" so who knows. I've been there on opening day for every Alien game, including the RTS on the Xbox/PS back in the day, but I'm not feeling it for this one...
  21. Looks to be intense! Thanks for posting a preview AGAIN!
