  1. I would also say in his defense that 2199 faces an inherant problem: the attempt to flesh out the original, simplistic story but on a VERY fast pace; as much as they've shown of Domel and the other characters we haven't gotten much time to really know them as well. Who isn't to say that there's something about Domel's past that would encourage him to act irrationally, impulsively. Again, splendid series though. I put 2199 right up there with the best reboots of all time, animated or otherwise...
  2. Another splendid volume. Just some thoughts on episode 20: Don't misunderstand me, I love this series from the first episode all the way up to #22. Episode 20 is probably the first time I've been on the edge of my seat and gripping the armrests since the apartment battle in "The Kingdom" or the final battle of 'Private Ryan; I'm just being picky because this show is just shy of perfect...
  3. Eh, if the hundreds of us here could throw thousands of dollars at Yamato for similarly self-destructing/broken-out-of-the-box toys then this Voltron I/Dairugger set is no more risky IMO. Anyway, the light up Voltron III from the 'Con is silly, but I missed the first MP release so I might just buy that light-up deal...
  4. I enjoyed the constantly cart-wheeling, back-flipping and summersaulting ninjas. You have to love a movie with ninjas that cart-wheel, back-flip and summersault when they could just easily walk the 10 steps to their intended destination. I guess if I was a ninja I would cart-wheel, back-flip and summersault all day long...
  5. That's a nice Wonder woman but she shouldn't have a serious look on her face. If their X23 figure can have a vaguely innocent, almost sweet demeanor about her then so should Wonder Woman...
  6. Redline is the movie that ended my rather expensive practice of buying any movie that came out on Tuesday, no matter what it was. I was so angry that I had allowed such a piece of garbage like that into my home that I threw it out of my front door like a frisbee, to join my broken Yamato VF-0S in the street...
  7. I agree with you completely, however this latest Wolverine movie sadly doesn't support Hugh Jackman's performance, and I think it's a damn good one at that. Hikuro, were the girls in that lesbo movie hot?
  8. Mariko's fiance got what he deserved. Actually, I would say he DIDN'T get all that he deserved. Besides, I still haven't forgiven him for being such a bad dude in Tokyo Drift...
  9. SOOOO glad I forgot to put this garbage in my basket at Wal*Mart this evening. $25 for a clip-show and yet ANOTHER copy of Shadow Chronicles? I'm fine with my first copy, thanks...
  10. I was truly looking forward to this movie, but overall I found it to be rather underwhelming. If anything, I found the first Wolverine movie to be far more engaging, especially when it came to the characters; the ones in this movie just couldn't get me to give a damn. There was a decent attempt at injecting humor throughout and for the most part it worked, but too many "why would 'that' ever happen" moments just detracted from the overall experience. Like someone said above, I'd skip the movie ticket or DVD entry fee and just wait for it to get on Netflix...
  11. Nice. VERY nice...
  12. I remember poring over that thing when I was a kid and wondered why it had some of the parts to transform but couldn't; do you have any other 'info on that fugly classic?
  13. "What happened to Hicks between Aliens and Alien 3..." Uh....He went to sleep and died? I guess a video game based on that might be cool, possibly better than the original game itself...
  14. Your post answers its own question: they're aiming to do a Super/Bat-man movie because they see how successful and how "right" Marvel Studios has been with their movies, especially with the Avengers, therefore DC is in catch-up mode. DC sees that a cross-over venture like Avengers is guaranteed income with supporting films such as Thor 2, Iron man 3, etc. Since DC's late to the party, they'll just go right to the character team-ups without making any independent hero films first, although that may come afterwards...
  15. Like Gene Shalit would say, that was a rip-roaring fun movie. Anyway, who says this is going to be a "versus" movie? If they stick to DC ritual then these two heroes will have to find common ground, albeit grudginly, at some point; they are charter members of the Justice League, after all...
  16. If Tommy Yune is considered to be a "writer" then I'm Ernest-freaking-Hemmingway...
  17. We're on a website that is dedicated to a cartoon with transforming robots, space invaders, their related toys and man-dolls; I think it's safe to say we're all young at heart or we wouldn't even be here. My point still stands: some of you may consider the Hunger Games a good read...
  18. Turbo Teen is an awesome idea. If I could meld with my Firebird and then assume that form whenever I needed it then I wouldn't have to worry about finding parking at night...
  19. Oh ok, it's just a "standard" USB cable. I guess I'll have to hit up Radio Shack..
