  1. James Cameron always struck me as a man obsessed with his craft. Why he passed his blessings into Genysis, what with all of the faults I pointed out is beyond me...
  2. Was Salvation seen as an attempt at a "reboot" or a retcon to the series, or something? That would explain the obvious plotholes or liberties they decided to take with Salvation...
  3. Hmmm....I see. I'm going to have to dig out Salvation and watch it again. Those are disastrous plot holes/errors if I ever saw them...
  4. I guess you really didn't like Salvation lol. Yeah not exactly a high point in the series. What specifically didn't you like about it?
  5. Christ what am I thinking-yeah you're completely right about the story, yet there's a complete lack of risk or tension in Genysis; the movie just doesn't work, at least it doesn't for me...
  6. I still run Windows Vista and I'm proud of it. Despite how much I resent this movie I still think people, especially fans of the franchise, should just watch it anyway because you have to satisfy your curiosity; just don't expect it to shake your inner movie-goer like the first two did. Hell I don't think I'll even buy this on blu-ray, which is a noteworthy damnation because I love buying blu-rays. I freaking have Bloodsport on blu-ray...
  7. Wow, a complete disappointment of a movie and ultimately a movie franchise, if I ever saw one. This movie failed to have the depth and the substance of the first two movies and goes nowhere with its own story. Sadly enough, this movie just fails to deliver on any level, IMO. There's no tension, drama, chemistry, you name it. It just looks like a bunch of actors and special effects going through the motions of a battle that already looks pre-determined with all of the convenient plot devices geared towards the humans. I would dare to say that because of the aforementioned flaws I would easily rank this movie below Rise of the Machines and Salvation. Say what you will about those movies but they at least had a pulse to them; Genysis is DOA right out of the box and needs to be RMA'd immediately...
  8. Even if I wanted to give this movie a chance, the casting bugs the crap out of me. I don't like the guy they picked for John Connor, Kyle Reese, the T1K; God bless Emilia Clarke and her tendency to get naked but I had enough of her in Game of Thrones. And for Arnold, just like in any movie he's ever been in after the 90's he's pathetically silly to me, and with the help of these writers he's reduced one of the most fearsome harbingers of death, a terrifying example of humanity's final mistake, into a clown character to be pointed at and laughed at and I just can't approve...
  9. Riker can add the whole Alpha quadrant to his list...
  10. What you bring up is EXACTLY what James Cameron had tried to tell viewers in the special edition versions of Terminator 2: he wanted to expand on the role and the presence of the Terminator, but had to be CAREFUL because he did NOT want the machine to become a symbol of comic relief. In T2 I think Cameron threads the needle just right with mixing a good balance of T800 Model 101 toughness along with some moments to make you realize that the Terminator is capable of learning, and that we as humans are peculiar ourselves. In T3 they blew this idea out of the water, what with the strip competition and everything else. Judging from the previews I can tell that Arnold/T800 comedy and slapstick are probably abundant in Genysis, so you can see why I find it hard to believe that Cameron gave his blessings on this latest iteration. All excellent points, especially the two-Sarah plot hole. When it comes to the guard, or mimicking objects in general, I don't see why the T1K has to touch anything; it has eyes or vision just like anything else, so I don't see why the T1K just can't "look" at its target and then mimic it that way. This is how I explained the copying of the guard in the hospital...
  11. All good set of ideas but not officially told in the movies, so it's a plot hole to many like JBO. Regardless I love T2, faults and all. It was my "Interstellar" of the day...
  12. For THAT price I'll stick with my Beta-max or VHS copy...
  13. Welcome to a great thread indeed. Many sock babies have been made in honor of the fine sights in this thread...
  14. Plot holes liiiiiiiiiiiiiiike.... the T1K copying the hospital guard and the non-flesh time traveling? You'll have to excuse me, as it's 7am and I'm high off of exhaust fumes at an early car show.
  15. I'm certainly not discounting the many, many issues with Bayformers 1, however I will say that movie "worked" for me as well. As for T2, the only thing about that movie that doesn't work for me now would be some of the special effects, as well as the red headed kid with the mullet. Other than that, I think the movie will always hold up well. What is it about T2 that some of you guys find corny or cringeworthy about it now?
  16. ^^^In that case, now would be the perfect time to shamelessly rip off Macross Plus. And considering this will be an American production, I am expecting a lot of large breasted freckled blondes to be in it...
  17. Wha'd he do to get banned? I always thought of him as harmless at best...
  18. I think it's very clear that they're starting the Walking Dead story anew, this time on the west coast. Based on the teasers, I like the idea that we'll be watching the zombie apocalypse unfold, as opposed to joining the story in the aftermath as in the original...
  19. Well, it's about time they breathed new life into this show...
  20. Looks like we're both right. I just read some words from Cameron about the film and the tanker explosion was the original ending, but he deemed it as too anti-climactic. Also, if you look closely at the scenes shot after the tanker explosion everything looks different: the actors looks, makeup, the entire look of the film...
