No helicopter could travel at the speeds implied by the Airwolf show; those rotors would be sheared right off, even if the frame could handle the required powerplant and the subsequent speeds...

Well, to extend the hypothetical "dogfight" between the two, I would offer that Airwolf would be too fast for Blue Thunder to draw a bead on it, let alone strike it with those heavy cannon rounds. Blue Thunder after all is an urban based riot suppression/close quarters machine; Airwolf was the high speed mover equipped with guns and guided missiles for air superiority. Were Blue's rounds really 20mm shells?

I always imagined Star Wars vehicles as space vehicles. Sure, they might be able to move around in atmosphere, but for the most part they're natural environment, and full maneuvering capabilities are in space...

I just want a BB8 that will function like my interactive R2 D2, without all of the flaws of course. As for the JJPrise, I don't like the Constitution class anyway, so bleh. No iteration of it will ever get me excited. As for the FA vehicles, I'm disappointed they couldn't come up with something more original and creative than changing a line or two and adding a bit of color here and there on decades old designs and callin it a day, however those vehicles are synonymous with Star Wars and I guess having a Star Wars movie without the classic stuff would be like not having light sabers in it. One of Han Solo's lines is, "we're home," or something to that effect. FA is as much an homage to the fans as it is a new cash cow...

Are you looking at the Sphero made one? I'd probably get that one but I don't have a smart phone so the app part of the droid would be useless to me...

Bandai Gobots/Machine Robo Series Toy Thread
myk replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm not sure I want these ultra-Gobots. I mean....my childhood remembers these toys as being cheap, blocky, easy transforming toys with a silly cartoon show to match, and to stylize them into "masterpieces" ruins it for me. Give me the $5 Gobot any day... -
The only critics I care to hear from are the ones in here; Duke, Mr. March, A7, Dave H., etc. All of the other talking heads in blah blah blah land can go stuff themselves; I'll formulate my own opinion...

Dude it's freaking STAR WARS. I'd be content to have the job of cleaning out Carrie Fisher or Harrison Ford's bed pan if it meant I could be more directly connected to one of the greatest stories of mankind...

I would give anything to be in Boyega's shoes right now: one of the central characters of the next generation of Star Wars films? That's mind-blowing financially, emotionally, socially, personally and I'd be jumping around like he was every second of the day. And yeah, it is clever marketing strategy too...
