Seriously. At this point discussing the matter is useless, and we'd be better off banging our heads against Valkyrie-Exchanges' empty 1/48 Fast-Pak shelves. Heck, Macross is basically contraband here in the 'States, yet I am still able to buy my Valkyries, M0 episodes and whatnot, so I see no reason to even care about any judgements regarding the rights. Sure, I won't be able to catch the Low Visibility Valkyrie at a K-mart Blue Light Special sale, but I think I can live with that....

pix of Halle Berry as Catwoman

Amen to that...... Also, I'm not surprised by the sudden ethnicity change. Didn't they do the same thing with the Green Lantern? Sorry, but I don't follow DC.... -
I typcially shun anything that can't fly, but that Monster is a must-buy, despite its deficit sized price tag.....

Kinda OT: Is anyone picking up the Scarface DVD?
myk replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmm...I finally saw Scarface but I'm just not getting it; maybe I need to watch the film a few more times to truly appreciate it. And if I'm short on time, I'll watch Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood video to keep the gist of the story fresh in my mind.... -
Sheesh. I'm still saving for Valkyries. $400 dollars? Of couse, this isn't even the Konig.... By the way, just how big is this thing supposed to be? As far as I'm concerned the bigger the better-it's a barrel of laughs not being able to see my own floor, and when they come over the call girls love that stuff....

My mother, god rest her soul, bought me a Takatoku VF-1S from the local comic shop back in '89 or so. I remember that evening well....playing with my snappity-clickety new VF-1S while watching the premiere of Bon Jovi's "Bad Medicine" video, featuring Sam Kinison.......

What's the price difference on the Pak-less version? This is the first I've heard of this....

Kinda OT: Is anyone picking up the Scarface DVD?
myk replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I picked it up, because of all of the hype. I've never seen the movie, yet some people are so enthusiastic about it you'd swear that it was 'Pacino's best movie, or something.... -
What is it with these toys having giant, boroque cannons/guns/missile launchers on them. I like the Starscream as well....I'll take 2.....

Someone shoulda' thrown HIM out the window to go get it. Anyways, the Trendmaster's Lion-Bot paint job was what always bothered me. It always seemed to be just a little off, or something. Strangely enough, I never encountered any mechanical problems with the cats...

It could, but it won't. Projects like this never do. I don't even know of many sci-fi fans who would welcome such a story line, even though they are fans of both franchises/universes...

What is the most memorable scene for you?
myk replied to PC Valkyrie's topic in Movies and TV Series
May sound strange, but for me it was seeing Roy's dead form on the floor...... -
Don't you wanna' earn all of that mecha?
-
Any of the 1/48 scale Valkyries, except for the Hikaru. Try to find a "Low Visibility Valkyrie" or "Low Availability Valkyrie", as I like to call them, if you can.
-
I can't believe that anyone would be willing to part with it... On another note, at the price of over a hundred bucks, I'd wait for the reissued 'Roy, as anything that costs that much needs to be nothing short of perfect. As for future market value? Screw it. We could all die tomorrow so get one that you can enjoy thoroughly...
-
I look at it from a character appreciation point of view. Wait for a reissued 'Roy, as his charater was the epitome of cool. I don't understand the need to purchase anything Hikaru-he was a dork.....

Are you refering to the paint on the entire Valkyrie, or the paint situated between joints, pivot points, and whatnot? If it's a part that will come into constant contact with others, then the paint will wear eventually, as was made clear to me by my new Low-Availability-Valkyrie. I've had it a week and it's already losing paint...

Don't worry, it's not a bootleg. Seeing how complicated the Yamato Valkyries are, it would require a great amount of effort just to even attempt to make a cheap rip-off, which would be impossible. I thought TAB-A was the tab behind the canard section, that keeps that section straight in fighter mode?

I just saw G.I.Joe Spytroops....
myk replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You tagged it....What we've got here is a classic example of the 60 minute commercial...... -
Virtual Boy...a system so pathetic I had even forgot about it until I happened upon this poll......Can we even call it a system?

Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2
myk replied to Macross_Fanboy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmm...I don't know. We'd have to get permission from the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo before we could even consider such a project, and you know how they are about rogue operations.... -
Macross Plus....sounds familiar, but I'm not sure what you're talking about.... Seriously, I first saw Macross Plus, in its movie edition form, back in 1997. I've raved about it for years since then, and when I discovered this great 'Forum in 20?? we here spoke of, argued over, theorized, anthropomorphized, and even fantasized about Macross Plus forwards and backwards. Don't think that we fail to appreciate the masterpiece of work that Macross Plus is. It's just that after all of these years, it's all been said and done a thousand times over. You do bring up a good point though, in that discussions here tend to focus more on "old school" Macross than its successors. I believe that has something to do with the fact that Macross Plus is but a side story in the Macross timeline, and doesn't leave much room for hypothesis or speculation. And, the majority of toys for Macross obviously favor the original Macross. In summary, we all know and love Macross Plus. It's just that, well, Isamu, Guld and Myung have all grown up and moved on, and so have we.....
-
If they continue with this, maybe all of us who missed out on the "Low Availability Valkyrie" will get another chance to get one.....

Even in foreign entertainment men are made to be bumbling fools....
