  1. I just got my 2 sets, courtesy of the almighty Kevin at the Valkyrie Exchange. My only points of concern are just the previously mentioned: super tight booster pods, and RMS missiles that are way too loose, although it does make it easier to take them on and off. The original missile clusters were so tight on my wings that I broke two of them just trying to place and remove them.....
  2. LOL, what post Monty? -Love your avatar....

    Latest 1/48

Seriously. Just buy what you want/need. So far, I only own the '48 1A and 'Low Vis. I plan to get the Roy '1S reissue, and maybe a 3rd set of 'Paks but other than that I can't see buying anymore. Approximate total: $460.00 (before reissue and 'Pak #3). See how easy that is?!
  4. Sure, but most of the terms are odd-sounding to say anyways. Grenade Box Protector? Radiant Silvergun? There are too many Japanese names and designations that strike the western ear in an odd way. Come to think of it, Strike Valkyrie sounds wierd too. And would anyone say that the Angel Birds' name sounds any stranger than the Blue Angels? The Angel Birds Valkyrie toy, if there ever is an official Yamato effort, will cater to a certain niche like the 'Low Vis does. And if you ask me, an Angel Birds' Valkyrie would sooner take a spot in my airfield long before a 'Seeker ever would...
  5. It's an odd situation for me then, as my 'Low Vis has a nose cone that's more likely to fall off, ailerons that are too tight and a canopy that tends to fall, unlike my '1A Hikaru that is just right in those areas...
  6. Well, in the DYRL story, she fell for Hikaru when she decided that they were the only two humans left on the planet. As for the TV series? What TV series......
  7. When the smoke clears, literally, I can't wait to see who in the Californian political community tries to explain why multiple C-130 fire-retardant capable planes, and marine helicopters were not allowed to help put out the fire when it was still young....
  8. Any word on how my baby Mai's gonna' look like? If there's any sense in the SNK camp, they'll take the Capcom rendition of her and........put much less clothing on her........
  9. Seriously. And what does this stuff have to do with the story?
  10. Unless there are issues with the current run of 'Paks, a revision is highly unlikely. I think many of Yamato's critics would probably agree that the 'Paks is one thing that they have done properly.......for the most part.....
  11. If two renegade fighters were able to break through the orbital defense network by just playing dead, I wouldn't think of the Earth as being very well protected; rather, the opposite. Of course, one could argue that the theme of defense for the Earth is that of repelling massed enemies, such as squadrons of mecha, fleets of ships, etc.
  12. Wow, that's beautiful. Suddenly, the idea of a '48 scale version of that sounds like a great idea.
  13. Ooooooooh-K....... I know it's not a Macross 7 toy, but I'd recommend buying a YF-21 FP. You could always customize it into VF-22, or pretend it is one.....
  14. Maybe a mini-series, that takes place after Macross Plus. They could feature Isamu as being a disgraced fighter pilot, possibly a scapegoat and maybe even imprisoned for his involvement with what happened on the Armstice Holiday. Then, he would be asked to save a girl/Valkyrie/SDF/planet/universe or whatever...You know, something dark and depressing that continues the somber attitude of the 'Plus story, with a heroic twist of sorts, in the end....
  15. I'd have to say the SR-71. I have to add however, that an F-117 flew over me today, a remnant of the airshow that just took place at Miramar a few days ago. The sight of that craft is enough to behold just being on the ground. Passing over your head however.........wow..........
  16. I proudly own 8 of these examples of solid, yet adequately beautiful designs. Folks, consider these Valkyries to be the Volvos of the toy universe.
  17. There's nothing like Christmas in October.....
  18. 'Tis not unusual at all. Personally speaking, there's not much else that I can receive as a gift that I could become excited about. And if anyone has a problem with our tastes, then they can go, well, you know.....
  19. I could see buying duplicates or more in case your hands-on Valkyrie/toy was broken or otherwise damaged, though not for any other reason. It will take a while before these things will appreciate in any considerable dollar amount, so collectability to me seems like a moot point; we'll probably be dead in a few years from now anyways.... Also, if you've got the money and the desire to complete a collection, then by all means go for it....
  20. I'd actually prefer to name her Lucy.....
  21. Well, if the X Box dropped to $149 I'd be a happy camper...
  22. Rock, I guess. STP, Aerosmith, Alice in Chains...I've outgrown Nirvana but I still reach for my Guns N Roses 'Appetite CD quite a bit....
  23. 'Probably 'cause of the girl, whatever her name was ......
  24. I don't know what it takes to 'hack, I can't even get my own programs to open most of the time, but I don't think this would've been the work of just one person.....
  25. Wow, that is truly beautiful. If only a toy could look so good...
