  1. I'm actually looking forward to Syriana, myself.
  2. Yeah, what we need is an updated version of that hawk-guy. Also, I saw an episode on Sci-fi the other day, and I had forgotten how good Erin Gray looked back in the day...
  3. I'm just glad that the Golden Girls will have season 4 coming out on DVD sooner than I hoped...
  4. Hmm....I've only the HK version, and there is only 1 cutscene that is from VFX-2. It's probably different on the Bandai release...Keith?
  5. I'm glad you enjoyed the Pegasus episode. I also think you're lucky that you haven't seen the episode until now, as the wait for the conclusion to that cliffhanger is on January 6th and is only a month away for you. The rest of us, on the other hand, have been waiting since.....October? I hate waiting... -That means you too, Yamato, with your VF-0 coming out in April! As for possible plot holes in flight of the Phoenix, I don't get the Blackbird thing either. When you take into account that replacement parts for existing Vipers are depleted, how do you build a new one from scratch, and with stealth capabilities no less? And speaking of stealth capabilities, it was Helo that came up with the idea, and that idea was in the form of an afterthought, not in the way of research and development. I don't see why Tyrol and Helo are upset. In time they can find additional copies of Sharon and then they'll both be happy. Another thing, whatever happened to Sharon's baby? In regards to the attack on the Galactica, the Cylons were trying to incapacitate the fleet with their virus, therefor I suggest that the Cylons' intentions were to capture the Galactica, at best. Finally, Sharon's ability to pass for a human with mechanicals under her skin is plausible, just think T3's TX. I'm sure that X-rays or other probes into their bodies, short of actually performing surgery, could be foiled by whatever machinations they carry within themselves...
  6. You don't actually want an answer to that do you? Well, let's see if I can remember. The Haydonites are just one of the many races that the "Expeditionary Force" encounters on their way to the "Robotech Master's" homeworld. These creatures have a unique and powerful understanding of "protoculture" and it's applications towards machinery. Their own planet is a mix of biological and mechanical sorts, powered by the 'proto stuff. Haydonites have to ability to shape and change machinery and their world at will; think of Star Trek's Q being, but confined to their world. -I'm missing alot of data on this, and I may have gotten some of the posted data wrong, but.......I really don't care-lol...
  7. I haven't even heard of this and know nothing of it beyond the website's "about" link, so I'll hold fire until I learn enough. Although, I have to say that puppet shows, like Thunderbirds for example, are an immediate turn-off to me. In addition, anything that claims to be "fashionably hip, and gut splitting funny," is just a blaring warning sign of pending lameness...
  8. I don't think blaming Stan Lee would be appropriate, though. I can recall hearing from some source, possibly one of the Spider Man dvd interviews, that Stan Lee may have created much of the Marvel Universe but he doesn't necessarily control what happens to that universe-some kind of rights snafu, or something... In addition, I will continue to complain about craptastic releases such as Fantastic 4, DOA and whatnot, because it is obvious that the people responsible for these travesties have performed little to NO research in the creating of these films. I really don't believe that movie studios "owe" the fan (boy) anything, or have any other such responsibility to a franchise's followers, however if I were to produce and release a movie based on a video game/comic story, I would look at the history of the franchise, explore what the fans enjoy, hate and feel, and then base the movie on those two points. What other approach to a movie like this would be more successful, or profitable? I am protesting the lack of common sense, and the gall that these studios have at thrusting something that is incompatible and ignorant with a comic book/video game's established history and following; hoping that we the public will gladly lap up whatever it is they heap on us... -I do think X-films are an exception, though; seeing Wolverine in yellow spandex would not have been good..
  9. I was hoping that mentality would work for the Dukes of Hazzard movie.......Boy, was I goddamned wrong...
  10. Flyable, even with those external pods on the outer edges of the wings? This just keeps getting better!
  11. why..why...WHY?! Blood-drain... Please God, make it STOP....
  12. I'll take one if it's free... -Actually, supercars are supposed to be quirky that way, right? Their appearance is something that you would never expect to see, or understand if you do...
  13. Hollywood is pretty cruel to women. Men have it easier with age. Sean Connery just becomes a bigger and bigger pimp as time goes on. The women however just get booted to the curb. 349995[/snapback] And who says that art doesn't faithfully imitate life?
  14. I just read a 'bio of Stacy X, and if any of that information is true then I can see why fans hate her character. What sort of place would an unattractive call-girl have with the X-Men? When mutants get lonely...
  15. It FLIES, that's the important fact that sets it apart from any other rendering or modeling of any Macross item. I can't believe I just stumbled on this so late in the game. Awesome stuff! -Besides, I don't think you could make the vehicle anime-accurate without sacrificing flight characteristics, and this shouldn't even be an option...
  16. I wasn't aware that 'Wings came out in '87. That was one of the first animes I ever saw but I can still remember the great story. Why wouldn't they release that as their first title? Wierd...
  17. I'm not saying that the Rush hour movies were not enjoyable, rather, that any competent director would have kept Chris Tucker's racially motivated, motor mouth ranting to a bare minimum, as every time he opened his mouth it just killed whatever mood-momentum the movie happened to be in; he's just not that funny of a guy, and the audiences I sat with hardly laughed with him.... A good director should instinctually know what will and will not work with people. As far as I can tell, Ratner has missed that target too often...
  18. That's just.......wrong, lol. I've got even more reasons to stay away from classic Coke: Someone get me some wine to drink with all of that 70's cheese... With all due respect, I loved the original when I was younger but I'm on to something more in step with the times and with issues and people that I can relate to more or less. Considering how polarized people are when it comes old and new, there's no point in pressing the issue..Next topic!
  19. There was no mystery, I was being disrespectful to Charlize... -Oh, and it will take far more than parading around on Spike's VGA show, a 2 hour commercial blitz for the video game industry, to gain any favor for that....."movie" she just released...
  20. Not strange at all, especially when you consider that Hollywood and even the world of anime insists on pumping out works that feature girls with guns, girls with swords, girls kicking butt, girl power, girls as heroes, girls creating tornadoes, etc... The new DOA movie, the Resident Evil films, AvP, Tomb Raider, Noir, Burst- Angel, Scrapped Princess....As Jameson always said, "Crap, crap, mega-crap!" These people need to realize that the whole girl-power, Spice Girl thing died a long time ago and has no credibility with the public...
  21. Rubbish. The Rush Hour movies prove that Ratner is of a very high caliber of director...
  22. Wow. What, is that like a cold-war left over? Well, I certainly hope that they can still do this with a 747. Aw hell, you know they have one or two of these things in some hangar somewhere if they need it...
  23. Well, that answers my question as to why Charlize would be a guest hostess for Spike TV's "video game awards show." I see her, or at least hope to see her, signing a contract with Vivid pictures in the near future...
  24. I like the jealous and horny robot from Saturn 3...
  25. On the consumer side of the fence, which includes all of us and that angry 360 owner, his complaint about the '360 is completely valid, as the unit tends to overheat if the ambient temperature is anything over 0-kelvin. However, the '360 does include what every other appliance or consumer good that has the potential for a lawsuit-an instruction manual. In the 360's manual it clearly states that adequate ventilation has to be provided, or else.... Now, I don't know about you guys, but I've owned every console since the NES and I NEVER provided adequate ventilation for any of them: on the carpet, under clothes, in the sun outdoors, in a cabinet, by a heater, activated 24/7, etc; I never had any problems, certainly not the ones that people are having now with the '360. Microsoft has always known that the '360 would have heat issues, but of course they had to rush this thing out before the holidays and definitely before the PS9 or whatever comes out next year. I'll bet anything that in the months or years to come, there will be different versions of the '360 that feature enhanced cooling capabilities that will reduce or eliminate the problems that we're facing now. I guess Dave's already seen a power supply revision? Why would stores get a different power supply? Lol, I think Microsoft was definitely aware of heat issues for their baby... This guy is right, but Microsoft will be protected by their manual which is a legal document. Also consider that only a small percentage of owners, 15% or so, are experiencing problems, and that is well within an acceptable failure rate for a device. The only thing that Microsft will have to deal with is negative public opinion for now, but with their money and their potential for making more of it, I'm sure they really don't care about what people think of them...
