You won't get a definite answer to your question until next year, at the earliest. Until the consoles and their developers have had a chance to "grow" and develop their respective must-have killer games, no one can make a logical choice between any of the systems. The smart thing to do for the budget conscious would be to sit tight with the current 3 systems and wait until those next-generation killer-apps start showing up, then choose...
I used to be all about following the service manuals for my cars and taking care of every little bit of mechanical work that they needed. I soon learned however, that crap like the Jiffy-Lube b.s. happens more often than we think. I'd rather drive my cars into the ground and see them rot than have them "serviced" by those thieving idiots. The ONLY shop I'm willing to use is over 30 miles away from where I live, but I trust them and that's priceless..
Well, Yamato knows that people are going to buy this thing even if they don't tend to the little details like the antennae, so they're gonna' go ahead and milk this VF-1 thingy for all it's worth...
Wow, move over Ebert.
A little contraversy was all this movie needed, as it's such easy fun to pick on the religous types. You can bet that Passion of the Christ and 'Code are high-fiving each other all the way to the bank...
Final Fight CD rules. If only Final Fight Streetwise could have been as noteworthy.
In regards to console choices, I support the console that will give me THIS:
Not yet, but in typical Yamato fashion others will fall out eventually.
In regards to scale and sizes, after seeing the VF-0 it would be nice to park a 1/60 scale YF-21 or other 'Plus variable fighters beside it, as in "real life" they're pretty much the same size...
I also thought about tightening up those knee joints, although some of the Zero's limbs are glued together, right? I've noticed on my copy that the right knee/leg is the loose one that, when pressed, will pop the leg away from the backpack...
That was cool to see. I wonder if a professional driver could have done better on the track.
I really hope there aren't people out there who fancy themselves as race drivers based on their 'Tourismo experiences...
I don't even wanna' know the search parameters one would have to enter to come upon that. The "transformation" sequence into the blue hatchback was cute though...
Yeah, I know, I should've posted the 'pics. Here they are:

As I said earlier, that would've been a cool thing to have in the movie, but alas...
A WWII action/flight-sim game sounds awesome, but reviews accused it of being incredibly bland and not too engrossing. I wonder what planes you get to fly in it? There are supposed to be 41 in all. If there's a P-47 and/or an F4-U I'm there...
