The criticism of the game's excessive escort missions is wrong, or at least misplaced. Considering the period of the story, where the RDF was nearly destroyed along with Earth, there was little more to do than protect human military and civilian assets. Besides, the game would have been equally criticized if the missions were composed mostly of kill-all-the-bad-guy scenarios. Man, I'm really getting into this game again though. I'm glad I have the VFX games to use as pretty drink-coasters...

Yeah, but when are they going to release that Andromeda mechanical file? I love my Yamato mechanical file ship, but there can't be any substitute for the diecast/plastic piece of work that Bandai has/is making...

Is that the mission where you're trying to rescue your downed teammate? I kinda' cheated: hide behind a large, solid object in Guardian so her missile and cannon shots can't hit you. Then, pop up every once in a while and launch missiles of your own. Eventually, you'll wear her down...

It wouldn't look like the F-14 because that design is so 80's. If Macross would have been conceived now it would resemble the F-35, 22, YF-23 or heck probably Masterpiece Starscream...

I'll take Battlecry over ANY of the Bandai produced Macross VF-X games ANY day; those games were utter crap. Asides from the PS2 game, Battlecry is the ONLY above average action/simulator that features a Variable fighter. Once you get past your hatred of Robotech you can see that Battlecry isn't that bad of a game at all...

I was wondering if anyone would ever be along to replace Van Damme, Segal, "Ah-nuld" and others like them. The Marine represents the return of the mindless action genre of the late 80's and early 90's. I'm glad to see that all things old, whether they be Macross, clothes, cars, video games and whatnot, are being made new again.. Hooray for the Marine!

Lol. No, as a matter of fact, I'm going to ask JBO about using S-VHS with my NES; everything else I have is on component with digital audio. Actually that only applies to my newer consoles. Older ones such as my Turbo-Duo, Sega-CD-32X machine and whatnot are still on composite. I do long for the days of RF, though. Life was just, so much simpler back then...
