Well, I figure that if we just hold on to our PS2s then we won't have to worry about compatability. Also, why is having the 'emo chip better than having the 'emu software? As someone else stated, firmware updates will increase the library of older games. I had been planning to hold out for MGS4, but the 'emo thing is making me antsy...

Hmm...There's an update to the first link, which supposively has SCEA refuting the idea of the 60g version disappearing. Official word is still pending apparently...

Classic case of you "not reading the previous posts." Big F had mentioned "bad press" in the UK from fanboys who did not like the designs. My post was merely in response to that particular entry regarding the fanboys. I am hardly a "fan" of the new designs myself, however I find them to be "fine" in what they represent: futuristic, off-world, machine-life forms that are unlike anything ever encountered. As for those who feel that the designs are "too busy," I'll agree on that one. You could almost go blind looking at any movie-bot for more than 2 seconds. Unrecognizable though? Hardly. At least, I didn't have any trouble discerning who was who or what was what. They're trying to portray robotic/mechanical life forms from another planet. Who is to say that their bodies shouldn't appear that way? Only geocentric arrogance would require that these bots have bodies that appeal to human aesthetics. Ultimately, just how much more simple and less "busy" should the designs be? Once again I give you the alternative:

Ok. ONE last question before I make a decision. Emu-PS3's will have emulation that will provide limited compatibility, but if I still have my PS2 then the backward compatibility is a non-issue, correct? I want to get this Emo-PS3 but my "new" Trans-Am needs better tires, lol...

That cliffhanger implied that Michael Knight's character was returning to the story line. Too bad the series sucked so bad it ended there...

Damn you Keith, I was using you as inspiration to wait until MGS 4 came out to get this thing. The idea of having the emotion engine and not the emu-engine is the dealbreaker. If I go through with this, Resistance will be the game I buy, along with the 5 crappy blu-ray movies they're throwing in. Actually, they can keep the crappy movies. How do we know for sure that the PS3's we buy now are emo and not emu?

I thought the "5 free blu-ray movies" offer was great until I saw the list-PASS...

Can you guys explain why Emo is better than emu? That might prove to be a dealbreaker for me as well. If the limited compatibility list for 'emu is a problem, am I correct in understanding that the 'emu list will grow online anyway?

Yeah, just try returning it, although the hassle of doing that and then going out and buying another system is probably just a pain in the butt. The timing really does suck, though...

1. The point being that Megan Fox does not LOOK compatible with Shia's character. I'm all about suspending belief for the sake of a fantasy story but that's stretching the belief and then breaking it. An equally dorky yet cute/attractive girl, not a smoking hot uber-babe constantly coated in woman/sex sweat, would have made better sense. 2. I am a firm practitioner of denial. Shoving the all-spark into Megatron or whatever was faaaaar too easy of a defeat for a villain that's had a nasty reputation for being the ultimate bad guy for the last 20 some odd years. That's why it's stupid. The final battle was rushed, anti-climatic, on and on and on. Did these guys ever watch the G1 movie? Relax big guy, I know how you get all riled up when you think someone's bashing Transformer-anything. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed and liked the movie enough, I just wasnt' blown away by it like alot of other people on this board...

Well, I felt fortunate to have even "seen" that event as the action was a little too busy at times. It was also ridiculous in that it took all of two seconds and then it was done. Anyone biting into their candy bars at that point would've missed it; next thing you know Megan Fox and what's his face are making out on top of Bumblebee. WTF indeed. Oh, and Megan Fox was waaay too hot for that role. High school junior my optronic sensors, she looked three times as old as Shia...
