  1. I love tanks and all, but this thread won't see daylight...
  2. God-freaking-dammit. I wake up this afternoon to see my 360 RROD-ing. What're the patterns and what do they mean again? What's the warranty on these damned things? My unit is a replacement that I received in January of '06-I thought I heard somewhere that all 360's had their warranties expanded to 3 years? I wonder if I'll be able to have this thing replaced or serviced. I wasn't planning on buying a PS3, although at this point I may not have a choice...
  3. My launch day unit RROD'd in January of '06, and that unit was always vertical. My replacement unit since then has been vertical as well, with no glitches or failures to speak of...yet...

Psh. If it's one thing that Yamato has proved they CAN do, it's milking the VF-1 mold...
  5. It must be a regional thing. My local CC's won't even allow the discount on video game hardware...
  6. I don't know about your local Circuit City, but the units in my area have a restriction on the 10% discount, and that limitation applies to all video game consoles...
  7. The extra 20g's is a joke. The only point of difference which to some, is a big one, is the presence of a special chip or piece of hardware that allows the 60gig version to play most if not all PS2 and PS1 (?) games. The 80gig unit no longer has the chip, rather software emulation to allow backwards compatability. It's cheaper for Sony that way, however there's a limit to the backwards compatability with the emulation. I believe you can download patches and whatnot to increase the 80's compatability buy why bother when you can just buy the '60 that comes ready to rock? I'm in the same boat as you are-I wanna' buy but $500 is alot of coin. Another thing you might wanna' consider is the price itself. Why pay $600 for a PS3 when you can pay $500 and get an arguably better unit?
  8. Lol. I was like, is that what I "think" it is?!
  9. Yeah, you wanna' talk backlogs, I still haven't finished Ocarina of Time-that's how backed up I am...
  10. I don't have one, as they all broke. I'd have to say the LV1. I bought it on a whim when it was at a discount price, but its sorta' real colors, as opposed to the Power Ranger schemes of the canon variable-fighters, has slowly won my admiration over the years...
  11. Empire. One galaxy under one law, as it should be...
  12. I accidentally stumbled on the series while surfing channels. If you can watch the 80's movie you're a pretty tolerant person, but just a few minutes of the series was almost enough to make me block the channel itself. There is no room for sci-fi cheese in the new millenium. In regards to the "box around the ships" with special effects, I've seen that in modern sci-fi efforts as well; Star Trek Generations is one example that comes to my mind...
  13. Agh, the pressure. The 80 gig units are slowly taking over-time is running out...
  14. Got a question guys: I've been building my own systems for the last few years, however the last one I built was back in January of '05 before the dual processor stuff that came out. I plan to stick with Intel, but I just needed to know if building systems today is any different from a couple of years ago. Current box is a P4 3.2, 6800GT-PCI-X, 2G's of DDR2 533 and some other stuff I don't remember too much about. Also, are one of the 10K RPM Raptor drives worth the expense?
  15. Who knows-wives across America could appreciate that thing...
  16. Even if the PS3 had inputs that could help it become a DVR, the relatively small hard drive would make it run out of room really quick...
  17. Beautiful, but can he move that hip turret? Not since the days of G1 Megatron have I......
  18. RRRRRRRrrrrrr I can't believe I missed this 'Con...
  19. Wow, I hope someone at least bought her a drink, or something...
  20. Not having attended I just figured that was a statue or something...
  21. Lol. The 'Mods, they really ARE watching us...
  22. The Conquest X-30 is what you're thinking about. And no, that SS abomination does not remind me of the '19...
  23. And that's exactly why I was playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on the PS1 while everyone else was trying to figure out how to play GT1 (or was it 2?). For me, realism is good and fun up to a point only. If I want to be that realistic about race car driving I'll go out and actually drive a race car. If I'm on one of my consoles, I just want to be able to powerslide, drift or whatever on a whim and not have to worry about the physics of everything. The new GT is gorgeous but I'll stick with NFS or Project Gotham...
  24. Almost a decade of dreaming is finally becoming a reality. I just MIGHT have to start paying attention to Yamato's matters again. It would be worth seeing this thing just to see how accurate the F mode is to the lineart; the more accurate the more difficult/impossible it would be to design a toy. Bring it on...
