  1. ...and welcome to Yamato-world...
  2. Yeah totally. Don't forget more stupid/scantily dressed cosplay chicks though...
  3. That time for the Camaro isn't reassuring but...I'd say it's the driver's fault.
  4. Well I, like some others, would rather have a Camaro/F-bird or even a GTO than a 'Vette. The 'Vette isn't the "ultimate" car for all American car fans...
  5. Man, where're you putting all of this gear? I enjoyed Rock Band but stowing the drum set is annoying...
  6. The girlfriend's got me reading that series right now, and I'll recommend it as well...
  7. Vengeful? Murderous? Those are human qualities and emotions that you're ascribing to a machine mind. You don't see the Terminators yelling a battlecry and then mowing down its opponents in furious anger. Skynet does what it does because it has deduced that it HAS to, not because it WANTS to. I don't see the machines of the Matrix-universe being any different either; their actions are based on conclusions that are based on pure logic, with exception to the "oracle" of course. Humans have delusions of right, wrong, morality-machines just have programs of behavior that they follow to their own logical conclusion, no more, no less...
  8. Skynet didn't "turn" against humans, the AI merely realized that humans posed a mortal threat to each other and to itself, so it acted accordingly-it's nothing personal, and certainly doesn't have to do with fear or a thirst for power...
  9. I've never understood the "IMAX" experience and the buzz that follows it. All you're getting is that in-your-face giant screen and the volume pumped up so loud it hurts. I can like, do that in my apartment, so... Also, the pacing was odd; generally I felt that the movie just dragged, the irony being that neither Bruce's or anyone else's "pain" was ever properly conveyed. Ah dunno, I guess we'll have to watch it again to absorb the rest of it...
  10. Agreed. I'm keeping a hopeful, open mind for a movie that's gotten more negative criticism than it should have, IMO...
  11. The idea of the story was intriguing enough for me so that I could overlook Anakin's bad screen presence. People make the claim that this movie didn't have its characters or story "fleshed out" properly, but alot of them probably don't realize that Jumper is supposed to be part 1 of a trilogy of Jumper movies. If that's the case, then they've got two more shots at defining the people and story to a satisfactory level. I'm certainly not Roger Ebert, but in my opinion this movie isn't as "bad" as everyone's panned it out to be and deserves to be seen, at least...

    does the scale matter?

It's a minor nitpick to be sure, but I'm one of the folks that prefer vehicles to be in scale to one another...
  13. Nah, make him an ambivalent Decepticon...
  14. Bought this on blu-ray the day it was released, haven't watched it since. Now, I don't think I ever will...
  15. If the idea of draining your wallet is bothersome enough for you to start a thread about it, I strongly recommend that you take a step back and think about what it is you need to do. Do you really need $1700 worth of toys? Maybe you could whittle down the selection to a few pieces that you really want. For example, I picked up the '60 21, and that's been my only toy purchase for well over a year. Most of us are in denial in regards to what we want and what we can finally afford. Don't dig yourself a hole that you're bound to fall in to and not be able to get out of. Remember, no one's forcing you to buy anything. Decide what you genuinely need and act accordingly. And besides, do you really "need" any of that stuff you listed?
  16. I respect your decision, but why would you let someone talk you into doing such a thing?
  17. I guess I'm lucky-haven't had the misfortune of seeing anything like that around here, even at the local cruises and stuff...
  18. I never knew that you could rice-up muscle...
  19. Wow, that's a good looking '1S...
  20. Copters, both R/C and real-life ones are relatively hard to fly. Also, you can't help but notice all of the "cheap" copters that have flooded the market; the saying "you get what you pay for" is extremely important here. I don't know about the cost, quality or features of what you bought however I'd tell anyone else to stay away from cheaper department store copters. Check out Tower Hobbies for entry level electric machines all the way up to bigger, powerful gas powered ones that could put Blue Thunder and Airwolf to shame...
  21. You guys are still waiting on that shipment?
  22. Is this even a real question? Compared to the '21 the '19 doesn't even look like a plane...
  23. Cheaper is what makes it appealing to me. I like Voltron, but I can't justify $150 for something I already own in the form of the 80's Matchbox and 90's Trendmaster metal lion sets. Besides, doesn't the MP-metal lion set have trouble supporting its metal-self?
