I also want to see it, but if it's one thing I hate it's that Jon Woo, way-over-the-top action and I'm getting the impression that this movie's just full of that; I may have to wait until this hits VHS...

I don't want to turn this into a nerdy ship debate, but the Consitution to me always looked like a bunch of tacked on parts that was drawn up by some bored 5th grader in history class. The Galaxy class on the other hand conveys immense size and power while still appearing sleek, modern and graceful. The nacelles are just the right size if you try and understand the intention of the design. Also, I don't like the Soverign class either, considering that they were trying to return to the look of the Constellation . Meh, to each their own. None of these designs make any sense scientifically anyway...

I went and saw it at 3:40. Yeah it was fantastic and loud, especially in IMAX, but I didn't feel the characters were spot on, rather the characters were forced or maybe a parody, almost like I was watching an "In Living Colour" skit starring Jim Carrey and those other people from back in the 90's. Maybe it was just bad acting, I dunno. Ah well, you can't have a reboot without losing that old comfortable feeling. One last gripe, and I realize it's just my opinion, but the Constellation (if that's still its class) Enterprise is butt-ugly in every single version I've seen including this one. Galaxy class all the way baby...

Evil before Blade, as far as I'm concerned...

The dumbest group of people on the planet are muscle car people/purists. They'd have us driving heavy boat-like cars on drum brakes, bias-ply tires, no safety equipment and electrical 'tech that can be beaten by any Radio Shack. "I can go in a straight line reaaaaaaally fast! Wheeeeee! The ONLY good thing to come out of the 60's and 70's are the designs of the cars, and even then the majority of those styles are ass-ugly anyway, IMO. If there's a chance to upgrade one of these things with modern technology then it should be embraced. I love my 440 cubic-inch V8 but if you could give me a better power plant that would improve my '69 Charger that much more I'd take it in a hearbeat. In regards to Fast and Furious, I finally got the gf to see it with me, only problem is she's not gonna' lay off of me for liking this s**t any time soon. Although seeing a Charger and a Trans-Am running free together almost made it worthwhile, lol...

In regards to a possible reboot or taking a different direction with a story, it's all about what the individual fan thinks about the franchise; if you're heart's still in it the story could be turned completely upside down and you'd still follow it to the end of the earth. There are countless reasons why anyone of us would lose interest in any franchise. Personally speaking, I lost interest in anime and toys because I decided it was lame and I just outgrew it; it wasn't about anything anime or toy companies "did wrong" to turn me off to watching, collecting or otherwise spend money on it. Good luck on whatever you decide...

Thanks for the review, 7. Meanwhile, looking at the Charger on the screen I might finally have an idea as to what wheels to put on mine, although no larger than 16", of course...

I didn't like the actress change either, but Kirstie Allie (sp?) grates my nerves just watching and or listening to her talk. Good riddance...

Here in San Diego there're cases of people crawling under vehicles, cutting their fuel lines and draining tanks that way. It's nuts. And it's going to get even worse now that THAT many more people are jobless or are otherwise sinking...

Battlestar Galactica Discussion III

You're not the only one. I'm glad to see that my girl Racetrack redeemed herself and went out with a bang however. Well, not the bang that I dreamed of but whatever. In regards to the idea of ditching 'tech and starting over or keeping it, I don't think it matters either way. The message I see is that the human race is self-destructive in nature and it's nigh impossible to avoid that particular fate... -
What made you decide to step out of this for 2 or more years?

I'll second that, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mai was MIA; hasn't she been left out of the last couple of KOF's or so? Anyway, she was more jack-off material than a usable character...

Any ideas on why sci-fi's site or Hulu doesn't have last week's episode up for viewing yet? I'm always forgetting to DVR the damn show... -
Nicholson's Joker was good for it's "time," which was like, 80 years ago. I recall seeing that movie as a kid, and being wowed by Nicholson's presentation of the Joker as there hadn't been anything like it, at least from my own memory. Obviously, both Joker's are not only from different times, but are different interpretations of a character. Discussions of interpretations aside, however, it'd be impossible to go from today's Dark Knight and go watch Nicholson's performance of over 20 years ago and not be put off by it; that'd be like going from a 2002 Firebird Trans-Am to a 1930's Model A...

Thanks for posting the links, I guess. Anyone here into that stuff? -
Maybe it's just my inability to suspend disbelief, but Hugh Jackman with blades coming out of his hands always looks so...."fake" to me. Whatever, I'll be sure to watch this movie...

Lol, Jesus Christ. Now someone needs to do a basestar to really blow our minds... -
Got that problem as well; I'm on IE. I usually have to log in to many forums except, quite oddly, Z28.com and LS1tech.com...

Yamato is a business, trying to make MONEY. That's what businesses do, try to make MONEY. How the heck can a business try to make too much money? Everything they do, whether it be to market a new or better product, is designed to get cash. "Oh no Mr. Dateless Toy collector," we've made PLENTY of money, we certainly don't need any more. Here, have these products for FREE!!!!!!1111"

I was wondering how this movie got moved to home video so quickly; most films with this level of success usually take alot longer to get the home release treatment...

We got a new ram-air hood, for the racing-time to scramble Trans-Am again... I shoulda' bought a factory hood but it would've cost me $1500 shipped; I found this fiberglass piece at a garage sale locally for $150. I'll probably keep it primer black, I don't wanna' spend money on a hood I'll just replace anyway. I love this hood!

Jesus was that real? That WAS awesome...

Well, the source this information came from looks about as reliable as Yamato's QC team, so I say it ain't gonna' happen...
