The computer and electronics super geek thread
myk replied to Dante74's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Alright, I really miss playing AvP 1 but that game absolutely does not work with any Nvidia driver after 6-point something; or any driver past 2002. Running a driver that old isn't an option. What is the comparable ATI card to an Nvidia 8600 or 8800 GT? Also, when it comes to ATI cards aren't there makers that should be avoided? Well, seeing how the new AvP is probably going to be graphically intense, maybe I should just get a newer ATI card...I don't know... -
V remake - new TV series coming to ABC

When Diana wore her hair straight she was stunning. Even with her typical 80's over-acting I still found her to be venomous, intimidating yet hot all at the same time.. -

Ha ha I remember that scene. I actually thought it was kinda' cute... -
Suicide, huh. Those close to him say that he was anything but suicidal. I wonder what his deal was. Maybe he didn't commit suicide? Who knows. Anyway Kung Fu, Kung Fu the Legend Continues and the Kill Bills were corny but I enjoyed them nonetheless. Personally, this is what I hate about getting older: slowly losing your faculties and facing your own mortality while watching friends and loved ones dying or otherwise disappearing. Hell, maybe he did commit suicide...

Why? Why not. How many more original ideas are there?

Don't know if this stuff's already been posted or whatever, but I thought most of these were pretty good, especially episode 15 and 4, lol... http://www.jandrewedits.com/

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
myk replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Naw man, it'll be a cool, hip and totally NOW reboot along the likes of Star Trek 2009. The cast is sure to be picture perfect, with refugess from the casting camps of The Hills, OC, etc. And then, instead of trying to regard the Alien as the killing, breeding machine that it is, this movie will try and foster an understanding of the creature and its violent ways. Ultimately the only thing I care about is the upcoming AvP game; that's why I got into computers in the first place... -
Nope, body kits are 99% epic fail if they aren't from the factory. Well, I liked the RX-7 with the extensive Veilside kit in Tokyo Drift but, well that car wasn't an RX-7 anymore after the kit...

Actually, wouldn't a mousepad screw up the performance of an optical mouse? -
They were awesome games. I'd still be playing the first one, as I and many other fans feel it was better than the second, however the original AvP doesn't like newer Nvidia drivers. If you can get these games try 'em out, you won't regret it. As for the new one, f**k I'm gonna have to upgrade my rig again...

Screw canon, especially when you consider that Trek was dead anyway, at least to anyone that wasn't still living in their mom's basement dreaming of Orion Slave girls. Now, did someone mention a new t.v. series based on the movie?

Ha, I'll never get enough of Lorenzo Lamas in his show Renegade. There's more laugh material if you ever need it...

The Transformers 2 Thread--A Michael Bay thread

Because the 'Deceps are traditionally badass weapons or predatory vehicles. Only the wimpy autobots are passive volkswagon beetles and ambulances. Anyway, yeah some of the movie 'bot designs are way too busy, but how are they supposed to look like, the G1 toys that inspired all of this craziness? Someone put up a rendering and lemme know how they're supposed to look... -
Ridiculous. What a waste of a perfectly good Mustang...

The "creators" of Macross, as in the people who dreamed of this stuff in the 80's, or the people that hold the rights to the franchise today? Well, in either case, I think it's safe to say they really don't care...

Don't know or care to. Gonna' avoid this like swine flu. Tomb Raider's so 90's anyway...

Need help with identifying and EVA figure
myk replied to Excillon's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I picked up a Unit 01 and 02 at the Comicon about a decade ago. They're about that size but aren't poseable. Unit 01 came with its P-knife molded into its hand, and 02 had a spear or axe you could put in its hands. They cost about $150 each which was pricey, considering they couldn't be posed. Ah well, only in my youth... -
I'm just gonna' have everything shipped to A1; cars, toys, bitchy gf, all of it...

Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
myk replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, for a future war movie, especially one that's supposed to be of the post-apocalyptic type, I don't expect to see submarines, A-10's, Little Bird Helicopters, endless teams of human soldiers as far as the eye can see, motorcycles or make-up wearing model-like chicks who run around in skin tight clothing with their boobs popping out and are ready to cuddle up to you by a campfire after knowing you for all of 2 minutes. T1 and 2, through mere flashbacks, was able to convince me that humanity really was on the brink of complete annihilation. In Salvation, I just didn't get that same feeling of ultimate desperation-it was just, I don't know, lacking and not convincing. The desolate CG towns didn't work for me. In regards to the action, it's meaningless if the entire movie just seems to be made up of one action sequence after another; what was the point to this movie, what was the story even about? I'm not sure, because I certainly didn't sense that there was much of one. There was supposed to be this conflict about Marcus and a struggle for his identity but, he didn't really seem all that conflicted to me. I guess I wll agree that the Terminator movie go boom-boom really good, though. Blah, Potter better not let me down... -

Eh, go and see it only because you're curious about it and you have to satisfy that curiousity. You know, there were a coupla' meatheads and their floosey next to me and they wouldn't stop talking, however instead of getting my face kicked in by saying something I found myself not blaming them one damn bit; this has to be the most uninteresting movie I've seen this side of the last Indiana movie. I could pick this movie apart like a broken T-800, but I'm so worn out from boredom and yet another fine example of Christian Bale's wooden acting that I think I'll just go to bed... -
Now you're talking...

That's always been the essence of TOS anyway. Cowboy heroics and antics, ends justifying the means and all of that stuff. Maybe when and if they do a reboot of TNG they'll go back to rules, regulations and talking things out while wearing stuffy shirts...
