Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title
myk replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Aw shucks, I suppose this means getting rid of the model-quality, exotic looking female pilots with just the right amount of hair, makeup and a skin tight, boob exposing flight suit? I mean, I can see that having a place in a post-apocalyptic setting... -

Terminator Salvation, colon, Really Long Movie Title

Exactly, and that's why we're drinking the haterade by the gallon. The ending in T3 was awesome too, moving and definitive of which T4 had no such moments. BTW VFTF1 don't let the girls drive you crazy, unlike the one-dimensional women of T4, none of them know what they want and you just have to ride it out and deal with what comes... -

Lol, true, but obviously she gets by on the power of her "golden globes" in addition to what ever acting experience she has... -

Lol, wtf is that? Is that from one of her movies? -
Yeah, especially since my PS2 kicked the bucket. I can't afford to lose backwards compatability, so I'll stick with my 'emo-equipped 60G unit from way back when...

Oh wow I didn't know this was an issue. Looks like I'm sticking with my chunky monkey system...

This tells me that you didn't pay attention during any of your Macross viewing. Not trying to be mean but you really need to figure this one out for yourself...

They were both similar to me in that Shinji realizes that his state of happiness and general being is entirely up to him and how he chooses to see things in his own mind. Obviously both endings are different when you take in to account the events that happened in each one, but at the end of the day it's all about Shinji and how he chooses to look at himself and his place in the world he lives in. Hell, the entire series almost revolved around Shinji trying to sort his bitch-ass, angst ridden self out. I was under the impression that EOE took place because 99% of the moronic EVA fans wanted rock 'em sock 'em EVA on Angel, Asuka on Misato action, therefore moving Hideaki, or whatever his name is, to "murder" the characters in a gruesome way so as to spite the fanboy-ism surrounding the series, yet still carry out the story of Shinji's self-realization which, as far as I'm concerned, is the most important theme of the series...

Alright, geek speculation time: Scimitar vs Narada, who do you pick?

Eh, who knows what the writers were thinking. Like you, I was annoyed that from Kirk's appearance as a child up to the point he takes control of the Enterprise he's on the verge of falling off of something or getting beat up by someone...
-
I also thought that Chris Pine caught enough of Shatner's Kirk-behaviorisms and manner of speech successfully, minus the over acting/exaggerating of course...

Maybe now they'll have the money to have a Cerberus with 3 heads instead of 2...

V remake - new TV series coming to ABC
myk replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Why not? Isn't that a typical plot tool in most anime stories also? Just because it's been done before doesn't mean that it won't entertain us. The government doesn't know about infiltrations into itself because the writers are trying to say that it's too late for that; the V's have woven themselves so deeply into our lives that the series will no doubt spend alot of its story-telling trying to tell where our lives ended and the V's began. This didn't wow me either but I'll stay tuned. Oh and for the record, I'll take the 80's Visitor leader Diana over the new leader Anna any day... -
Anyone see that one movie of his, where he plays a washed up, over the hill "Van Damme" and is on his way back to France when he becomes involved in a bank robbery and he's forced to become a real action hero? That sounds awesome, lol...

Well...there's a block on a stand and...people put parts on it until it's done. Sometimes they engrave their name on it, like at Ford/SVT and GM. I keep thinking there's more to your question than I can understand...

Because those pony cars look good and people all over the world love the designs and want to own them. As cars increase their safety and technological equipment they will become heavier, portlier, more unwieldly, but that's the price we pay for a state of the art car that still manages to turn heads. And besides, the new cars may be fat but they still perform. I'm not up to speed on how well they perform, but I'm willing to bet they can run with if not best any of their predecessors. True, the F-cars and other performance cars of their generation were lighter and fast, but that was sooooooooooooooo 90's and we can't live in the past forever. And even if we could, do we really want to? Let's face it, 4th 'Gen F-cars, their rival Mustangs and all the other cars of that era were CRAP cars and we know it. That's right, I said it, those cars were overpriced, unreliable, badly built piles that are now coveted by the mullet crowd. Now, I love F-cars as much as anyone else (I own 2), but really now, yesterday's performance cars are the ones that can't show their faces when it comes to being compared to the modern muscle machines that roam the streets today. Out with the old, in with the new. Trust me, it's better this way...

Ricey doesn't equal performance. After all class, Rice stands for retard-inspired-cosmetic-enhancement. There are a lot of import cars that are worthy of respect and are as fast and as furious as any Stateside vehicle, and they don't need wings n' things to do it. And no disrespect to Mustangs, but if you wanna take on an adequate example of bone-stock U.S. speed take on an LS-1 equipped F body, or an LS-2 powered 'Vette or GTO. The American muscle car LIVES...

Agreed. If you want to shout out to the world about your affluence, then Ferrari or Lambo's got you covered. Aston Martin's are just like the Bonds who drive them: completely and confidently aware of their power but being cool and almost indifferent about it...
