  1. Loved the movie, saw it as a kid and it was probably the first movie to make me think about "what else is out there," in regards to the universe and definitely outside of my catholic upbringing. Prequel though, huh? What-are we going to follow the original team members as they fumble about in other parts of the world before they head to the base? You'd figure they're going to at least show the origins of the Thing. This movie also scared the s**t out of me. For many years after I saw it, I could not-WOULD NOT be alone in a room with someone, lol. I remember having nightmares where the entire planet was infected and I was on the run. Know what, now that I think of it, I still feel that way ha ha. Did any of you guys ever play the Thing game? I played it on the PC back in, oh I dunno, '03 I think? I remember playing it in the dark, the sound turned up and literally shaking at the keyboard, lol. In regards to some of the loose threads you brought up OP, I think that the infected dog went into Norris' room, and that's his shadow you see. I'm obviously guessing, but the shadow matches Norris' profile-at least it does to me, anyway. In regards to Blair, I remember screaming at the t.v. when they put him into confinement-the worst thing you could do with a shapeshifting monster running loose. You'd think he became infected while he was locked up in that shed BUT.........he was in full contact with the Thing well before he went bonkers. I would theorize that he was infected very early on, but the Blair-Thing was crafty and acted human until he was locked up. There, with the rest of the team thinking Blair was under control, the Blair-Thing was free to plot, sneak about and start construction on that wanna-be UFO. As for the rest of the unanswered questions, I think JC intentionally crafted the movie that way, so that decades later, people like us could sit around and have fun toying with potential answers. Thanks for bringing this up, JC's Thing is easily one of my personal favorites of all time... Ha ha, that's 'sig worthy material right there...
  2. Even with the crappy sound coming from the video the wave motion gun effects from startup/priming to firing left my mouth wide open. I'm definitely trying to figure out how I'm going to get this thing. Kyp, with all of the input you've contributed to this thread I nominate that YOU be the Captain Avatar of this thread and anything Yamato/S-Blazers. Or....Leader Desslar if you prefer...
  3. I'm glad I'm not the ONLY one to ignore other people's posts...
  4. Nothing in the way of a good cliffhangar either-the season finale was very tepid. I don't know about you guys, but it certainly won't hold my interest until October in the year 2268 when this series is supposed to start up again. Question: just what kind of force or energy would that M1A1 tank be able to absorb or tolerate? For example, would you be able to survive ground zero at a nuclear event, or something like it? What kind of damage would the tank suffer-could it remain operational?
  5. Off the top of my head, smart phones. Maybe it's because I'm a simpleton who doesn't nut in his pants for the latest 'tech, but I don't "personally" see the need for a phone that has to be able to run 'apps that rival computers, watch movies, listen to music, have a keyboard, play games, control the Hubble telescope, fly a Predator drone, etc. If I want cool 'apps I'll boot up my PC. If I want to watch movies I'll sit in front of my goddamn 57" t.v. If I want to listen to music or play games, well I hate music but if I felt the need I could power up my home theater. I hate texting so I don't need a brick of a phone that accomodates a keyboard. Does anyone even talk on phones anymore? Maybe I'm the last one. In any event that's all I need in a phone, something I can talk on. Everywhere you go it's people stumbling around with their faces buried in the palms of their hands, doing whatever it is they do on these smart phones...
  6. Nah it's all good, I just hope they buy each other breakfast in the morning. Seriously, thanks for the pictures and the review, Kyp. I'm guessing they increased the wave gun's opening for the drill missile? I really wish they had kept the gun opening smaller-that large hole just looks odd and is kinda of a deal-breaker, IMHO. On that note, if some of you guys are thinking about selling your BPX-01's lemme know...
  7. I can only wonder why. I hope this didn't happen to make way for writers that will have our characters jumping off of walls to kick zombie dogs in their faces, and stuff like that...
  8. I say watch it. I've seen the first season and, although a little slow, I feel it's compelling enough of a story...
  9. Thanks for the link. CGI will always be hokey to me, but seeing the wave motion gun charge up was pretty frakking cool...
  10. They'll probably pull a BSG on us and have us wait a couple of years or so in between seasons, just because they can...
  11. Yeah for once I was actually glad to see that magazine in my mailbox...
  12. Copy that. An '11 GT 5.0 in Grabber blue would do us just right...
  13. Good Lord I'm supposed to have retired from toy collecting.... This is all your fault 'UN! Lol...
  14. Hey man, thanks for the heads up, that's a good $100 off at least. Do they deal with Western round-eyes in the States?
  15. I agree, but with the way the episode first started out, especially considering how that bit of story played out, I figured this would be a filler episode...
  16. And here I was, thinking that this episode was going to be filler, a total waste...
  17. I went to a 3am showing of part 1. Anyone else seen it yet? I feel the movie was done rather well, maybe a little underwhelming, probably due to the fact I've read the book so many damn times. One thing's for sure, Emma Watson is getting more glorious by the day...
  18. Disc 3. Could you, ah...point me in the right direction? I'm clueless about this kinda stuff lol. Also, any attempt to garner customer support for FEAR goes through WB Games...
  19. Scud! Oh wow, he's lost alot of weight...
  20. Men are dogs, eh? Who's the brother of the hillbilly? I can't remember where else I've seen him (t.v., movies, etc)...
  21. Plus and Zero. Smoking some good s**t on that last one...
  22. Question: I seem to have lost one of the install discs for the first F.E.A.R. game; am I SOL or is there support for a game this ancient?
