Why? Don't you have an old PS2 lying around for older games?

Cool, thanks for posting that clip. What other effects and music tracks does it have? -
Guess this makes me the fourth M-worlder to have seen it. I dunno, maybe I'm just jaded but the story seemed bland and uninteresting to me. It didn't help that the lead actor was so dull and lacking in emotion. One minute he's "here," the next minute "there" and with all of "this" going on, but the events of the story don't seem to faze him at all. I can only guess the Steven Segal school of non-acting is his alma mater. I almost wished that Shia LeBouf had been about to give the characters a shot of excitement with his trademark sputtering and over-acting. I would say that the Zeus character stole the entire movie, as every other actor was so wooden it was like watching a broadway play called "All about Hayden Christensen." In regards to the story, well, there's alot of...talking...about the digital frontier and a revolutionizing of the human experience, but it just seemed pointless and again uninteresting. All of that talking also containted some of the lamest diaologue I've ever heard. "Bio-digital jazz, man!" The Tron universe and hence the story just didn't grab my attention and get me to care. I guess part of the problem is that Tron is a story from like, 30 years ago. Back then, we could only dream of what the "digitial frontier" could do for us, but in the year 2010, we're living it, we don't need to fantasize about it. What we're given is a dry, talky experience that just doesn't have any style outside of the glowing blue, yellow and red suits... Anyway, what format did you guys see it in? Imax 3D? There's this new 'tech they're calling "RealD 3d." Wasn't sure if this was a just a local name for this new format. I'm not sure I understand the difference between Imax 3D and RealD 3D; all I know is that I have a goddamn headache that I never experienced in Imax...

Do you have the Nerf EBF-25? I've wanted that for a long time but heard that most of them jam and/or break very easily. A local Toys R Us outlet in my neighborhood has it for like $30 but I'm trying to find out if Yamato, er, I mean Nerf has fixed the problem yet... -
That actually happened to me, once lol. One of these days I'll cave in and buy an MP3 player of my very own...

I've been meaning to watch the first episode again to see if Rick had to push that gurney out of the way since Shane placed it in front of his door. Watching the undead overcome the soldiers in the hallway was pretty freaky...

What scale is it, like 1/12? Anyway, Ebay here I come. Also, I wonder how long it will take for the knock-off guys to make nude versions of those figures... Prices aren't too bad on the 'Bay. Also, that Psylocke (sp?) one ain't bad either... -
I remember I was so freaking scared watching the movie I couldn't think straight, let alone try and figure out who may have been infected. Hey, I was like 10 or something, lol. In retrospect, I could just as easily say that no character truly stood out behaviorally to indicate that they were infected-results of JC's directive genius, no doubt. I didn't expect Norris to be infected either but I believe he was probably one of the first to be infected, since I contend that it was Norris in the room that the infected dog first went into. As for the de-fib scene, I figured that the extreme electric shock frightened or harmed the Thing so it did what it had to do. In regards to those figures? Jeez talk about horrifying. I remember Electronics Boutique had the Thing game on pre-order; if you ordered it you got a Blair-Thing figurine for free. When I went to pick the game up I told the guys there that I didn't want the Blair-Thing, because the figure looked to damn unnerving, lol...

Wow, 'Ultimate those figures are HOT. How much are they going for? Anyway, the only thing I want for Christmas is world peace... -
I would refrain from getting too close, for fear of having to deal with the sudden and probably gruesome death of that significant other-that's just me though, and human nature drives us to pair off, so what can I really say. In any case, so there's "rampant" sex in the comics, eh? I don't think it'll detract from my enjoyment of the comic...

There's a novel? Thanks for tipping me off to it. I can't wait to see how much more detail is in the story...

I was thinking some more about that theory. If everyone's already infected, and you turn after you die, then...why would a bite from an infected zombie even matter? Unless of course, a zombie bite accelerates the infection, turning a mere carrier into a potential zombie? I dunno. I'm going to have to pick up the original source material...

............Don't forget the surfing. The surfing with the super-fake wave background, like something out of a 60's surfing safari movie...

Loved the movie, saw it as a kid and it was probably the first movie to make me think about "what else is out there," in regards to the universe and definitely outside of my catholic upbringing. Prequel though, huh? What-are we going to follow the original team members as they fumble about in other parts of the world before they head to the base? You'd figure they're going to at least show the origins of the Thing. This movie also scared the s**t out of me. For many years after I saw it, I could not-WOULD NOT be alone in a room with someone, lol. I remember having nightmares where the entire planet was infected and I was on the run. Know what, now that I think of it, I still feel that way ha ha. Did any of you guys ever play the Thing game? I played it on the PC back in, oh I dunno, '03 I think? I remember playing it in the dark, the sound turned up and literally shaking at the keyboard, lol. In regards to some of the loose threads you brought up OP, I think that the infected dog went into Norris' room, and that's his shadow you see. I'm obviously guessing, but the shadow matches Norris' profile-at least it does to me, anyway. In regards to Blair, I remember screaming at the t.v. when they put him into confinement-the worst thing you could do with a shapeshifting monster running loose. You'd think he became infected while he was locked up in that shed BUT.........he was in full contact with the Thing well before he went bonkers. I would theorize that he was infected very early on, but the Blair-Thing was crafty and acted human until he was locked up. There, with the rest of the team thinking Blair was under control, the Blair-Thing was free to plot, sneak about and start construction on that wanna-be UFO. As for the rest of the unanswered questions, I think JC intentionally crafted the movie that way, so that decades later, people like us could sit around and have fun toying with potential answers. Thanks for bringing this up, JC's Thing is easily one of my personal favorites of all time... Ha ha, that's 'sig worthy material right there...

SOC GX-57 Space Battleship Yamato Review

Even with the crappy sound coming from the video the wave motion gun effects from startup/priming to firing left my mouth wide open. I'm definitely trying to figure out how I'm going to get this thing. Kyp, with all of the input you've contributed to this thread I nominate that YOU be the Captain Avatar of this thread and anything Yamato/S-Blazers. Or....Leader Desslar if you prefer...
