Well put. I'd like to own this on Blu-ray but I'm waiting for it to drop a bit. I liked the movie, but not THAT much...

Lol, maybe they'll go the Iron Giant route... -
Lol, wow, you're new avatar-makes me feel like I'm in a dream sequence myself. If I were to do an Inception avatar it would be where Mal stabs Ariadne, but that might be a bit much...

I don't see why a televised or movie adaptation has to stay religiously close to its written origins. In my opinion the Walking Dead series seems to be a great program even though it's apparently betrayed its comic book roots. As long as the adaptation isn't downright blasphemy and executed poorly such as in the case of some of the Harry Potter movies, I'm ok with it. In regards to the hillbilly brothers, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with them. You're in a southern state and the majority of the population down there is of the redneck variety and so I would find it odd if the series didn't have such characters. Also, I think the question of "what happened to Merle?" and what will eventually happen with his brother, who is now bonding with the group and may have to choose between the two, is a major point of interest for just about every viewer. I'll agree that "Vatos" was probably one of the lamest (in the wierdest way) episodes of any program I've ever seen, but overall I think the characters and the story are strong enough without the support of the established canon. In the end it's all about our opinions...

I'm surprised they didn't leave it in anyway. I mean, that's what after credit scenes are for, to leave questions and doubt about the story and possibly set the stage for a sequel. I do think that particular scene would be redundant though, I mean we already see what happens to Tron before the end...

Great review Graham, as always. I agree with you on the price being the only negative item on this ship. Even with 5,000 Yen less on the price as you suggested that's still pretty steep. I guess I'll just have to stick with my old Matchbox deal...

Alright-a proper "V" series for the new millenium, not like that other V series that thankfully didn't last too long...

Granted, if they do make this in the same vein as the AvP movies then yeah, it'll be nothing but a teen slasher-esque movie with 3D thrown in and they should just leave it alone. But, if they can build a story involving the origins of the Xenomorph instead of focusing on gore and rampant violence then we may actually have something. On second thought, you know the latter won't happen so yeah, they should just leave it alone... -
Not to mention time lost and then having to find a place that'll take the used oil-here in San Diego because of the dense population you'd be surprised how many shops and stores refuse to take used oil because they're full. Like I've said before, unless you're an "enthusiast" that gets all googley-eyed over your car you're better off taking 20 minutes and $20 and having the monkeys at the shop do it...

Well, they seem pretty fired up about the show even though it's return is almost a year out. I've got to get around to reading those graphic novels...

Oh wow, thanks for the news EXO. An alien experience in 3D WITH Giger's talents? I can't wait. With the Thing and the Xenomorph both getting prequels I'm starting to feel like a scared kid, too afraid to go into his basement again, lol... -

Wow, that's your first build? Looks pretty solid. In regards to the Caviar drive, yeah I noticed alot of bad reviews but there were quite a few good ones too. I think there was one buyer on newegg that put the Caviar against his 10K RPM Raptor (like the one I have) and the results were very close. I dunno, I'll keep looking into things. I still have another GTS 250 for SLI and a better power supply on my PC shopping list... -

Wow Jenius, now that's a personal computer. As for the WD Caviar Black, newegg has one with 500G's for $59-is it really that inexpensive? Wow again... -
Lol, it's ok man, that movie was like 500 years ago. The sight of that cloaked figure and then Lisa coming out of the doorway was pretty chilling...

Thanks for the input guys, I'll look into those drives and pick one up for sure... -
Yeah the Real3D gave me a headache-I never had a problem with IMAX though. Alot of people I know aren't comfortable with any 3D format. I actually haven't experienced a 3D t.v. yet-I'm definitely curious though...

Hmmmm...might have to keep an eye on that one... -
Now more than ever I want to see the original one. I might stand to appreciate the new one more, is what I'm gathering from most. On another note, Quorra and Gem were in Turistas together with tans, smiles and much less clothing-I'm going to have to check that out too...

What are you hoping to get for Christmas (or a holiday gift)?

Wow that's cool! I wonder if the Stampede is having jamming/loading issues like the Vulcan? If not, the Stampede would be the way to go, although I am VERY disappointed in the Vulcan not being more reliable. PS: I'm starting to get used to the horror movie-esque cosplay-this will give me the justification to wear my NECA Spartan cape in all pictures that I am in... -

"Sigh," well I don't do online gaming so I won't have to worry about that, but I don't want my FPS experience to suffer either. Goddammit. PS: Anyone using Chrome? It's pretty slick, but then again my only point of reference is IE8 so a jar of molasses seems quick too. Edit: I tried playing AVP3, Left for Dead 1 and MW2 off of my external HD and I didn't notice any problems. I hope it stays that way but I'm going to have to look into another internal. Do I really need the 10K rpm Raptors? I'm really diggin those SSD drives but talk about alot of coin... -
Oh Doooooooood! I just bought Prince of Darkness! I remember watching that as a kid also and kept wishing that I'd find a tank of "evil" in my church basement, lol. I felt bad for the red-head, she was cute...

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
myk replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah well I think the Fast and the Furious series is silly, fun, and based on a ride but women all over the world don't seem to get all googly eyed over that-ah well whatever makes 'em happy. Personally, I can barely sit through a Pirate's movie, although I will say that #2 was kinda funny. Reminds me of an old agreement I had with the g/f: "I'll watch Pirates with you if you watch Fast and the Furious with me," lol...- 87 replies
