So, I regret trying to watch as many video snippets and trailers as I can, because now I feel as if I've ruined the shocks and surprises that would have been in store for me had I exercised some patience. 13 days and counting...

Dammit I always wanted one of those too. Ah well... I'm not familiar with HLJ, does their site mean that the 1/60 'S is back in stock? Also, what other alternatives do we have when it comes to buying these things-I haven't bought a 'Valk since the debut of the 1/60 '21 & '19...

Battlestar Galactica Discussion IV with Blood And Chrome
myk replied to 505thAirborne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm inclined to agree with Dobber. I found it hard to pay too much attention to the story itself. I got the distinct feeling that Caprica was almost written to be only "loosely" connected to the BSG series, as the story and how it led up to the main BSG saga wasn't very clear to me...- 696 replies

Holy Gerwalks, thanks for posting that. I never got to pick up a 1S Roy in ANY scale and here's my chance!

I'm waiting for a Blu-ray, high definition edition of Clash of the Bionoids, myself...

It's been a while since I've seen 'Plus, but the last we see of Guld is his death scream as his eyes implode. It's reasonable to believe that he was still conscious enough to drive the plane into his final wish. Besides, I also seem to remember a fast scene where the gun-sight of the plane was closing at point blank on the X9, a sign that a collision was imminent. Or, as you say, it was all just a matter of movie sequence. Lucy, Lucy, Lucy...It's been too long...

True, but since they've been able to actually design new scenes altogether with the TOS, I'm "hoping" that they'll take the same liberties with TNG. I salivate at the idea of Yesterday's Enterprise, featuring the Enterprise C trying to fight off four Romulan Warbirds, and/or maybe a battle with the Enterprisde D facing off against three Klingon battleships, not pesky little Birds of Prey that, in my opinion, should've lost. There are all sorts of moments in TNG that could be very well fleshed out with some new scenes/CGI...

The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread

Mmmmm....Breasts.... -
Never, they're just collecting dust. Besides, I don't want to deal with the blizzard of disintegrating parts if I try to do anything with them. I will say that I occasionally fiddle with my 1/55's and my VF-1S Joke Machine; I know THEY won't have any issues...

Wow is it really that much of an issue?
-
Right. If they could have new FX shots of the original Enterprise "dogfighting" with the doomsday machine in the TOS I'm sure they could do a lot more stuff with TNG. One thing that always bugged me were the constantly re-used shots of an Excelsior class running besides the D, and pretty much the same ships used repeatedly due to budget constraints obviously. Ooh, remember the episode "Cause and Effect" where the D gets caught in a temporal anomaly that repeatedly kills everyone? The Bozeman, the ship that collided with the D, was intended to be a TOS era Constitution class but they ran out of time and money so they resorted to the same 'ol Miranda (?) class. It'd be quite a treat if they could return to that original idea. Wow man, when I think about all of the FX stuff they could do...

Yesterday's Enterprise or Q-who? should be in that sampler, for sure...

That's hot. Almost a decade too late but still cool...

Lol, what took you so long? Hope you have the display to take advantage of it. Yeah, I'm hoping that'll take care of a freezing issue I'm encountering with new blu-rays... Edit: Just for the hell of it I took out my brand new Thor blu ray, wiped it down with a microfiber and after a couple of plays there's no freezing. I find it hard to believe that a brand new disc needed to be cleaned. I would think there's an issue with the lens itself, although everything I've read online says that the lens NEVER needs to be and shouldn't be cleaned. What do you guys say?

Lol, that was a cool video for Johnny. Also those screen shots that Radd posted are just too funny-right out of a cosplay scene gone wrong at the Comic-con or something...

Behind-the-scenes material is always great. I wish more movies and whatnot included that type of thing more often. Even watching adult film behind-the-scenes/bloopers are funny...

As someone else said, DS9 became interesting to me when the Jem H'Dar were introduced. Seeing the Galaxy class and its Picard-esque crew get slaughtered made me drop my froot loops...

George you freaking amateur, THIS is how you incorporate "NO" into your movies:
-
Makes sense, it just sounded weird, especially if it's voiced like "NO?" as if he's asking a question. I probably just heard it wrong-I was simultaneously browsing my Erica Campbell picture collection and was completely distracted...

I'm going to step in after having finished ROTJ to say that the changes that everyone has been lamenting weren't so bad. For example, if no one had mentioned the Ewok blinking-thing I never would have even noticed it; IMO the way it was rendered looked natural to me and it certainly would to anyone except the pickiest of fans. Besides, the Ewoks are a moot point when Carrie Fisher is looking pretty. What other changes were there? Probably a lot, but again they weren't enough to detract from the experience. Question for those of you who have watched ROTJ: does Vader initially say "No" as a question? Lol, it sounded like he says "No?" and then the more melodramatic "NO!" takes place when he finally tosses Palpatine. That whole bit was....peculiar but it wasn't the deal breaker that people including myself were saying before I managed to pick the set up and actually experience it. System specs just for the hell of it: 52" rear projection, PS3 via HDMI, JVC receiver with 7.1 and DTS, etc. Nothing special but the movies shined anyway; I might get an LED or a plasma screen and possibly update my speakers later. I've been watching 24 from start to finish the last few months, I'm going to mix that up with SW b-ray for a while...

I'd have to disagree, although conditionally. We don't KNOW if Yamato elected to use sub-par quality plastic/materials in this matter, but if you take into consideration toys like my original 1/55 Takatoku VF-1S that still perfectly ratchet, click and do whatever like it did back in the 80's to this very day, it's clear that toy was built properly. I'm pretty sure that with today's technology companies know EXACTLY the type of materials they're working with, potential problems, etc. A toy that breaks on its own just a few years out the gate begs to raise questions about the decisions Yamato made regarding materials; at the very least it's still unacceptable...

Don't feel so bad. I don't know about you, but I'm not looking at my wallpaper long enough to realize just how ordinary my desktop is...

I used to think about how odd it was that Vader never realized who Leia was until ROTJ. Despite the fact that they were in close proximity to each other on the Death Star, and that he even tortured her to some unknown extent, no one was the wiser as to who Leia was and what Vader was to her and what possibilities she may have held. So yeah, unless you've at least "made your own little step into a larger world", as Obi put it, you don't register in the Force...
