Those repair shops aren't TOO bad when it comes to pricing; it's cheaper than Sony and buying a slim to replace my 60G isn't an option...

True, and a story about people living the apocalypse is just as interesting as a movie about people causing it. That "thing" they're stretching out is ridiculous at this point. I can only think they're going to answer this question with something shocking...

All of this walking, talking and crying-I feel like I'm watching the Lord of the Rings movies again, but it's fine-a story's only as good as the tale of the people in it, and they have to have filler episodes anyway.

Yeah, what a concept eh? Special effects and makeup not taking center stage for once. Movies like They Live and the Thing were the types of movies that could stir your thoughts and soul. Good stuff for sure. I'm not trying to say that there isn't anything modern that can do the same, it's just remarkable that they could accomplish so much with so little, then...

Lol, hey man it was the 80's! I loved They Live for the story, much like the '82 Thing, whose special effects are equally laughable by today's standards. I realize that these two movies aren't the type to blow Uxi's home theater setup to oblivion, to be sure...

They Live was a great movie with next to ZERO special effects. Take that Lucas!

Lol, I was assuming it was NSFW so I didn't bother looking it up. Will do so now...

Ok, thanks for the link '7. Looks like that car and mine were pretty evenly matched up, both cars being stock. I wish I could have pulled up for an even run...

Ok, so what the heck is an Evo MR? I was rolling in traffic, getting ready to jump on the freeway when this silver 'Evo pulled up beside me, floored it and proceeded to start darting in and out of traffic, heading to the freeway on-ramp. I noticed the MR badge on the back and realized that I've never heard of that before. I'm assuming the car was stock because I've heard riced out Huyndai Elantra's with louder exhausts. Anyway the 'Evo finally gets on the freeway. Traffic thinned out as we got on the freeway so I decided I'd catch up and try to run the 'Evo. Well, as I started to get close the 'Evo starts to pull away; I figured I should be able to close the gap but I never got the chance-we were running at about 135 for what seemed like forever when I decided this guy wasn't going to let me pull up beside him to have an even start, so I shut it down. What is an MR? What are it's specs? Should I have been able to overtake or at least catch up to this thing? Was the 'Evo driver a twat for not letting me pull up beside him for an even start? I tried looking this thing up on 'Wiki but there are like 15 pages per year of 'Evo and then 3 sub-pages for each trim level. Jesus Christ man, people LOVE these cars. I was in the '99 T/A, btw...

Don't be surprised, as it wasn't too popular even during its initial run in the theaters. Critics didn't like it and the audiences clearly didn't either. Wasn't it competing with E.T. at the same time in the box offices? Nevertheless, it's earned quite the following over the years and rightfully so...

Here's to hoping that the Avengers DO get their asses handed to them; the movie'd be really dull if they just ran around in their cute little outfits, made snide remarks and didn't have any serious opposition. Maybe a cliffhangar with the lives of some of the members hanging in the balance would do. Whatever they do, they need to find a way to get Black Widow into less clothing....

I felt that by season 3 they were already starting to run out of steam. People asked why they were ending with season 4 and I told everyone that it was better for them to get out while they were ahead...- 696 replies

I just saw a mess of parts. Honestly, I don't want to make too much sense of the creature because it freaks me out... Lol I had to look that one up. I never knew there was such fanfare about that mechanical shark...

I really, really wish I hadn't looked it up on 'Wiki before I saw it; ruined a lot of the Boo! moments. Damn it I'll say this also: a lot of the Thing incarnations were stupid looking...

Well First class was an origins movie, almost a prequel in itself, but the locations and the times were different. The first X movie was presented to us in almost present day, First Class took place during the 60's, so naturally they didn't really have to rehash anything. The new Batman movies are reboots, so I'd say the writers have a bit of freedom when it comes to developing their story. However, the origins of Batman have remained constant no matter which Batman movie you watch. The rich family, the kid, the cave, the murders, being an orphan, etc, none of that ever changes. Then you have the Thing(s). Since this is a prequel that's supposed to be telling the story of what happened at the Norwegian camp, the writers have to tell a story limited to that particular piece of established canon. The fact that both movies take place within HOURS of each other makes it even more difficult to differentiate the two movies. Now having watched the movie, I will admit that there were some scenes from the '82 movie that were shamelessly (and very badly) copied, however the story formula can't deviate from this: frozen alien, curious scientists, Thing outbreak, hell breaking loose. Sure that's what happened in the 'JC version, but honestly, I don't see what else they could've done with the new movie asides from just showing us what happened at the Norwegian camp, which disappointingly almost mirrors what happened at the US camp. Agreed. Again I wish they hadn't copied some scenes, but this movie answered one of the great questions that the '82 movie has had fans asking for decades: what happened at the Norwegian camp? My only major criticism of the movie is that it failed to develop, spread and increase tension, anxiety and fear. I would even go to say that the more subdued creature effects of the primitive '82 movie beat this CGI wonder because something that is more hidden than seen is 100 x's more horrifying. Also, some believe that Mary Elizabeth Winstead was intended to be some sort of Ripley-esque character. If that's the case I'd say the writers failed there as well, because we don't once see Mary being hot and sweaty, wearing nothing but her underwear..........
