Lol. Yeah well I can live with just one. A Roy would've been nice but they're asking an arm and a leg for that s**t...

Maybe they'll find her in the season finale...

Yeah me too. I just want ONE example of the '60 VF-1 V2 and this would be the ideal time to get one...

Atomic buddy, it's like this. You've already stated your displeasure with the t.v. series, and have pointed out why the comic book is superior. Even though I haven't read the comic books I'm willing to concede that the written work is probably superior. Nevertheless, the fans of the t.v. series, including myself, would like to continue watching and discussing the show for better or for worse. What Exo's trying to say is that you'v e already said your piece about the show; we get where you're coming from. For example, I used to be totally into toy collecting but my priorities have changed and now I think it's actually kind of dumb. Nevertheless, I'm not going to keep intruding into the Macross toy threads and tell them how much I disapprove of their collecting or the massive amounts of money they throw at the hobby. Every once in a while I'll give an opinion or two about toys or toy collecting in general, but that's it-these people are here to discuss toy collecting and they don't need my disapproval to rain on their parade. In summary we get where the fans of the comic book fans are coming from; we understand that the televised work is probably inferior but we want to continue enjoying it, for better or for worse. If you critics want to point out deficiencies in the story that's fine, but the t.v. VS comic debate is a dead topic...

And I agree with you on all of those points, as well. My optimisim for season 2 was fueled by my appreciation for season 1. As I've said, I think that by episode 4 they needed to dispense with the filler stuff and start moving the story along, whatever it is. I sincerely hope this changes in next week's episode...

Sigh. Here I am devoutly supporting the t.v. show against its critics, only to be rewarded by the slowest and most pointless episode I've ever seen; I almost fell asleep watching it. I still give this episode 20 out of 5 starts however, because a fellow asian brother nailed a pretty white girl and that's ALWAYS something to celebrate. I think you and I can agree that season 1 was compelling, right? My point is I just wanted to give this season a chance to follow in the success of the former season. Now, we're about 25% into season 2 and in my opinion it's starting to drag, so in the end I may end up agreeing with you about the entire series, but here and now I just wanted to give it the opportunity to fly or fail on its own...

I don't see why someone has to be well versed in the comic to have a separate and valid opinion about the series, which at this point seems to be so very loosely based on the written works. I'm not biased against the comics and strictly rooting for the series; as a matter of fact, I'm willing to wager that the comic is VASTLY superior to what's going on in the t.v. show. But again, I'm going to judge the two seperately because the series is a different take and interpetation on the Walking Dead universe. Someone doesn't need to have read the comic before they can form their own valid opinion of the t.v. series or even enjoy it. Will I read the comic? Probably. Maybe. I don't know. Even if I don't, I'll still anticipate every week's new episode because I'm genuinely intrigued by what's going on.......FOR NOW, and I can judge it for its own content...

So Keith I take it that you've performed the defrag. Did you notice any difference in performance with your system afterwards?
-
I'm surprised that this defrag thing doesn't come up more often. Does Sony not think that this is an important maintenance procedure?

Well Shane was about a second or two from blasting Rick in the back in season 1; suffice to say that he's one messed up dude. Guess he's becoming a character to hate...

Hmm...Just google'd that and learned about the folder. I wonder if this online stuff could be interfering with the movies. I've noticed that newer blu's, including Fast 5, Thor, etc. seem to tout online interactivity during playback...

On my PS3 the system will freeze at the same spot on any blu ray from 2011. For example, Inception was the last blu-ray I bought in 2010 (I think), and it plays through no problem; all older blu ray's and standard dvd's also play with no issue. However, when it comes to blu rays like Fast 5, Thor, Bridesmaids, Lion King, or any blu ray's released in 2011 my system will freeze at the same spot in the movie during playback. From what I've read my optical drive could be going out, but you're the first person I've talked to that's had playback issues with only certain blu ray's. My system's clean, updated and is on for the better part of half a day. I couldn't begin to guess what the issue is. I plan to take it to a local repair shop and pay the $150 or so fee because replacing my fat system is not an option. Keep us updated...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the creators of the television show had no intention of copying the written works. Furthermore, why should they? This is someone else's take on the Walking Dead universe and it should be free to do what it wants to. As for being boring, this story is about people living through a horrific nightmare, it's not a machine gun emptying session of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare where you have to sprint from point A to point B. In my opinion there's been a healthy balance of exposition, tension, fear and action. Unless there's a psychological problem with someone, sudden, unexpected twists in a personality are unnatural. What is more realistic is a gradual reveal of what someone truly is underneath the comfortable facade that every human displays when all is good and normal in the world; Shane is the PERFECT example of this. Also, are you saying that you've been accurately predicting how some of these characters, such as Daryl, Shane, Lori and Andrea, to name a few would conduct themselves over the course of the episodes? I'm guessing that these characters are predictable to you because you've read the comic? Well, I can't even begin to imagine how I'd behave in a post apocalyptic world where nightmares come true, but I could imagine that there'd be a lot of freezing up and crying if the events of the Walking Dead became real. Rick's endless monologues are the counter to Lori and everyone else's hopelessness, and probably the hopelessness that the audience might be feeling. He's trying to remain optimistic in the face of unbelievable odds and circumstances even if everyone else, including the audience has given up. Also, he's the central character in this story. For the first few moments of the series the story was being told through his eyes, his experiences. As such, I'd expect a lot of talk from Rick as he's the main character and he is the unofficial leader of the group. (Major spoilers from the comic here!) All of the comic spoilers you've listed are again based on the premise that the show should be mirroring the comic, which it was never intended to, nor should it have to. Again, considering that we're barely three episodes into this season, it's too early to make a judgement call like that one. Also, what do you mean when you say their vision is forced? We don't even know where the producers are going with this, we don't know what the vision is. And that's fine, but again this is an interpretation of an existing work and they are free to shape their own story. I guarantee that all of the critics of the television show would have a much better opinion of it if they could just LET GO of this notion that the program needs to follow the comic books. I mean, if you prefer the comic books fine, I get that, but the television show is an entirely separate entity and should be treated accordingly. PS, Shane is an a**hole...

Characters like Rick bore me, because they're good, hopeful and optimistic almost all of the time-kinda like Optimus Prime. But, what if you take a guy like Shane that, in the pre-apocalypse was a stand-up, righteous man of the law and then is thrust into this sort of chaos; when he starts to break down it's fascinating, because you see this proper individual start to make selfish, evil choices. Good stuff, I tell ya. I can't wait to see when Rick finds out what his best friend has been up to...
