I am really liking the clear red parts on the Draken III. It is too bad they only did partial parts separation for the gold portions.

Does anyone know the actual release date for this? I know they say Dec 2016 but will it be beginning or end the month. The reason I am asking is I may be in Tokyo for the holidays and will try to time it around the release date. If I am going, I will be willing to pick up a few for forum members who miss out on the presales (If I can find them).

I used a 20-inch box fan facing away from you that I built a box around. I pair it with standard, replacable air furnance filters to capture overspray. Definitely get a good mask. even with acrylics, you don't want to breath in the fumes.

General coverage, a single action would be fine. If you want to do detail work with the airbrush, then you need double action. The DB Action is usually used when doing fine lines for pre-shading or complex camo patterns and weathering. Airbrushes and compressors are pretty cheap on eBay these days (saw double action ones for 18 USD). But be careful what you buy. A lot of them can be trouble. I have used a single action AB for years, hooked up to my home improvement compressor without issue. I recently picked up a DB Badger AB at Michaels with one of their 50% off coupons. If you want to be build 1/48 aircraft, there are very large surfaces to deal with so an AB is a must. I managed to find a 1/48 VF-19 Lightnings recently and I had the photo etch kit from a few years ago so that is is on my massive backlog.

There are a few other options for the shiny finish. Model master used to make a line called metellizer that was supposed to be oK: http://www.testors.com/product-catalog/testors-brands/model-master/metalizer-lacquer-paint Another option is to use a metal powder like the one linked here: http://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/uschi-van-der-rosten-25ml-chrome-metal-polishing-powder-4008.html Most people prefer Alcad 2 but they are extremely hard to find. The key to a good metallic finish is in the prep work and a high gloss black base coat. Spray the metallic paint in thin coats at low pressure and gently build up the shine.

Unfortunately, Marvel does not own the rights to Rom. They have been using the other space knights but Rom himself is owned by the toy company that contracted Marvel to produce the comic in the 80's. -

I am starting my Hasegawa 1/48 VF-1J and I was wondering how the balance is on this kit. Do I need to add weight to the nose to make sure it rests on it's rear tires properly?

I have used HF for years without issues. You can try sending them a note to cancel a pre-order, but the only time I had to cancel, my card expired. On the other hand, I pre-ordered a garage kit once from them and the supplier delayed the kit by a year and upped the price by about $200. HF honored my original price and sent me the kit when it was finally released.

I have seen the Hemnes in person and they are a bit narrow. If you do not want the all glass look, you should try the thick Billy cabinet with the glass doors. It will cost more, but you should be able to fit a VF-25 Renewal in airplane mode on it. -
