  1. Besides all the VF-1's, the only other valk toy which I like is the YF-19 and maybe the upcoming VF-0! I prefer the YF-19 over the purple bluish YF-19A from the Yamato series. i have been searching for a YF-19 but without any luck, are they really that rare? Also what are the prices like between all the different versions...YF-19 (first edition), YF-19 (second edition) and the YF-19A?
  2. Wow...very impressive! Can't wait to get one of those, keep up the good work John!
  3. Wow, really nice! Besides the VF-1, the YF-19 is the only other valk I like form all the Macross series. Really need to consider getting back into building models, anyone got a spare Clum M 19 lying around?
  4. I was just wondering whether the Club-M & Yellow Submarine joint venture 1/72 scale resin fighter kits of the original Macross series are any good, especially compared with the newer Hase kits?
  5. My deepest condolensces to you Greg and your little girl Heather. I f there is anything that we can help just ask.
  6. How about we all pitch in and make recasts out of it! Of course I get to keep the original!
  7. Wow, look at this Macross VF-1 model kit in 1/20 scale! Definitely beats the previous record of 1/24 from Arii! 1/20 VF-1 ...and for a whooping ¥65,000 (approx. US$591!)
  8. I was lucky enogh to have the 1/100!
  9. Just contacted one of Hong Kong's biggest importer of Hase kits and nobody there knows of any re-releases of the VF-19A Ravens and the VF-22S. Hase might re-release the VF-22S but I am pretty sure that the VF-19A Ravens will not as it is a limited edition. This in a way will make the "limited edition" meaningless. Anyways, there is always the VF-19 for sale!
  10. Congrats to our youngest Macross fan!
  11. Well, IMHO the Yamato 1/60 is transformable and you can play with it The Hase models on the other hand are smaller in scale (not to mention cheaper!) but do offer lots more detail! Since I like to display all my stuff...hmmm go with the Hase
  12. The PE kit, which came with the regular VF-1D is only a "half-set" compared to the one for purchase by Hasegawa! What you do get from the Virgin Road kit are the special decals and a nice artwork for the box!
  13. The hip joint was always a problem, since the early days of the Taka era Even if you look closely to the animation, the artists have problem drawing it, let alone making it into a toy. A good example is the PS2 Mac game, ever noticed whenever the valk transforms from fighter to gerwalk or battroid there is a slight blackout on the hip part?
  14. Thanks guys! I guess will save the cash for something better
  15. I just got a secondhand SEGA Dreamcast from one of my workmate for free but without any games. While game hunting, I came across a Dreamcast Macross M3. It is a original version but the details on the back of the game suggest it is a action/shooters game. Anybody heard of this game and if so how is it? As the shop is asking something like US$22.00 for it,I really want to get some opinion first before parting with my hard earned cash
  16. I am away on business and have not much to do, so been doing some web surfing and found a site where you can download all sorts of paper models for free Check this site out www.3dpapermodel.com.tw! There is a VF-1S, a Super, a Gerwalk and god know what still, pretty nifty and all for free as far as I can tell
  17. Born and raised in Hong Kong! Mum's Chinese and dad's Austrian!
  18. I had one of those bootlegies too. They were cheap and cheerful! But my first Mac toy was the 1/55 Takatoku VF-1J Max unfortunately it got handed down to my cousin then friend of his and well; it's gone for good now But not to worry, I will relive my memories with the 1/48 Yamato VF-1J Max
  19. Thanks guys for bringing me back up-to-date! Now, does Roy die? (Just kidding )
  20. Forgive me volks but I remember reading somewhere that Max dies. Is that true? I am only an original Macross series and DYRL fan, seen Mac 2 and Mac Plus once each but that's it. You guys can bitch slap me for not being an all round Macross fan!
  21. Thanks Neova So, I guess you do need to take the valk apart first before washing/soaking it to prevent rust. My plan was to do little weathering and npt a full blown custom job Never thought to be that complicated, I thought a quick dip into the bubble bath would have completed my mission praying for no rust
  22. I read a lot on the MW forum on how to customise your toy and always come accross washing your toy first before applying any paints. I get the idea behind washing the toy in detergent to get rid of any oily residue but one question though There are always some metal parts, such as screws, landing gear (on the 1/48) etc. Will they rust? I mean the toy manufactures are not using top noch expensive metals like titanium or stainless steel but rather cheap and cheeful steel!
  23. Cheers guys , One more question though, can you actually take off the armour?
  24. Just wanted to know whether the Yellow Submarine 1/100 VF-1J + GBP Armour is any good, build quality wise? The description on the MW Model site sounds impressive but does anyone have one built, who can give a comment?
