  1. "sorry to post here but does anyone know how to straighten out a vinyl piece that has curled? it came like that when i opened the box.", try soaking the part in warm to hot water and a minute or two, take it out and remold it and then dip it in cold water to harden, repeat if necessary!

Also, another good hint or advise in building the VF-19 vinyl kit is to weigh down the feet and lower legs by filling it with plaster or else the completed kit might have difficulties standing on its own without support!

  2. Got the same kit and the first edition, which only differ in having metal hands!

Working with vinyl is pretty straight forward, a good advise is to use new sharp blades and by soaking the part to be trimmed in warm water first, this makes things much easier!

  3. Well, there are pros and cons with both kits!

Perhaps the most important point to start with is which valk do you favour more?

Next, are you a model guy or more of a toy guy? Hasegawa kits are real model kits, where you will need glue, putty, paint etc and good modelling skills to make it look good. The BanDai kit on the other hand is more straight forward, a good pair of cutting pliers and/or exacto knife with minimal modelling skills and the kit can already turn out halfway decent!

Last, the Hasegawa kit is for display only, do not expect to play with it, the BanDai kit however is meant to be played with (though not like a toy)!

  4. As far as I know, there was only one release of the new 1/60 Yamato YF-19 (normal version, with FAST Pack/Fold Booster version), so there quality issue should be the same on all.

The combo version is really getting harder to find and honestly, if you plan to play with it, buying the valk and Fast Pack/Fold Booster individually will save you money, as I just did recently

Last, the valk itself is quite sturdy but once attached with the Fast Pack it does get a little flimsy!

  5. I believe there is a scheduled upcoming release list of all BanDai issued Macross Frontier model kits somewhere posted in one of the threads!

As far as I can remember, the Fast Packs are to be sold later on in the new year, while no armour kits were announced!

  6. I have got brass casted pliots molded from the 1/48 Club-M VF-1 resin model kit. However you will need to prepare and paint them and make minor modification to the valk by removing a small tab below dashboard display.

$12 shipped for two little bad boys (comes with two differnt right arms, one of them is a thumbs up position)!

  7. Well, here it is, a completed 1/72 VF-11 Full Armour! Kit was based on the 1/72 Hobby Base Retppu VF-11 kit with sculpted armour.

Many thanks for the person, also a fellow member here in sharing these pictures with us. My kit is still in the primer stage and hoping to join in very soon, pose is slightly different with missile hatches closed and hands grasping the gun!

  8. To save you on overseas shipping, Kenny Lam in In's Point Monk Kwok ahve recast kits for sale, I believe HK$1,500. Otherwise, a member here is also offering a recast kit for sale, take a look in the " Sale Section"!

  9. No models of the VF-4 were ever produced, your best chances are resin kits!

I still have a 1/72 on produced VF-4 fighter for $75 shipped. Your better half sent me a PM which I also replied with more details.

  10. Not all of the 1/100 Takatoku VF-1's came with a gunpod, so looking for an original one could proof difficult. The best bet is to get yourself one of those very cheap 1/100 scale models. They are literally everywhere and for as little as a few bucks. Some even come in the gun-grey colour, saving you the paint job hassle!
