I think Noel was selling his for US$100 on Evilbay, not sure if anyone snapped it up!

We can all pretty much assume that the Yammie 1/100 VF-0S is cancelled or at least put on hold for good and a 1/48 VF-0S is almost out of the question What I am really hoping is that the 1/48 GBP-1S armour will make it to the production belt and while Yamato are at it, maybe release another 1/48 valk; let's say a Cannon Fodder would be great Andy
-
I guess a main point to consider besides which 1/48 to buy is which one you can afford There are not many flavours around at reasonable prices, most common and easily found are the VF-1A Hikaru and the VF-1S Focker.
-
Hey, I am from Hong Kong and find myself halfway decent Btw, the CMs boot seller might be from Hong Kong but the boots themselves are made in Taiwan! Andy
-
If I were you I would get the 1/48 Yammie anyday! It is the first computer designed valk and it is superb in all aspects, just perfect! Try sticking with the 1A Hikaru/Max or 1S Focker/Hikaru (if you are lucky) and get the Fast Packs seperately! The 1J Super of Max , Millia or Hikaru are good too, but you will be stuck with those differently coloured Fast Packs, whcih you cannot really mix'n match with future valks! Andy

Yamato Escaflowne or Hasbro MPC Optimus Prime?
Valk009 replied to shiyao's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The Prime might cost like 3-4 times more than the Escaflowne but it is worth every penny of it! Also make sure to get the Jap released Prime, if I remember correctly as you do get the trailer (out of cardboard) with it! Andy -
I do not have one installed as it only works currently on the older big PS2 consoles and not the new slim versions! My friend has one installed and you can use any hard drive, can also be old ones from your old PC!

There might be a way to get the Hobby Base vinyl kit VF-4 recasted into resin but recasting it into vinyl again is out of the question! They would have to dip the original vinyl kit in bronze to get a cast and this will result in the original being damaged Also apparently recasting to often with the original mould is not that good of an idea to as with each recast the original will deteriorate a little, at least that is what I have heard! Andy
-
Most of the recasts VF-4 kits is the Club-M version, which has one of the best scuplt and detail, not to mention it allows you do build it in gerwalk mode! The Musasiya is rare and less detailed and recasts are almost impossible to find! The last, the Hobby Base Retppu kit is out of vinyl and cannot be recasted, so only original ones are available!

Hi guys! I started a thread in the "Wanted Section" requesting fellow members help in finding linearts on Regaults, Glaugs or anything related to Zentardi fighter forces. Response were quite good but are there really so little information on this topic? Any more help or information would be really appreciated! Andy

I really like how they did the body sculpt; pretty true imo But the head and face just looks way off, nothing Japanese anime here but rather more American style We can always just use her body and find another head for it

I will try and take some pics of the VF-0D, also Graham might be visiting my friend's workshop, so he can also give some feedback on his quality! I know he is setting up a forum (I suspect in Chinese though) and modelling is only his hobby, so not sure if he will be taking up overseas order! Btw, The6ftTallAZN, your work on the VF-19A is fantastic, no need get models built...build them yourself Andy

Hey AlphaHX, any idea which kit this (the above posted GBP-1S pic) is? It is not the Yellow Subamarine 1/100 kit as it looks too edgy and chunky, maybe I am wrong though

Wonderfest 2005 winter
Valk009 replied to Bariaburu Faita's topic in Conventions and Local Gatherings
Hey Noel, do not keep us in the dark for to long...starting to pull out my hairs soon -
It's the shopping centre where there is a shop on the second floor only selling original resin kits! The resin shop owner is also a legend, he used to build most of the kits for BanDai for photo shots in the ;80s and '90s. I tried to beg him to build me a kit but he does not build anymore Graham, if you want perhaps we can meet up next week to go to my friends work shop as I have two small kits, which I want him to build too I will give him a call tonight and see! Andy
-
Graham Not my VF-0D, but he just so happend to be working final touches on it while I visited him! He says the VF-0D is pretty easy and straight forward; the only difficult part being the underbelly where the blue and white sort of slowly fades in together , not to mention very little available artwork on it! Shop should be opened soon hopefully, he still needs to look for a decent spot, was thinking of the shopping centre on Argyle Street (right next to the McDonalds)! His workshop is also in Monk Kwok and he is there most of the weekdays after 7:00pm (modelling is his hobby and part time job). Capt. Yeah, go ahead with the GBP-1S, now that is cool. Just think of making a pose of it while the armour pieces gets jettisoned Andy

Our conversation was in Chinese but the magazine does have a Hong Kong edition, so it could be Dengeki Hoobby, which come to think about it sound very similar Hase does have the full license to do all valks in fighter mode, not sure though about in battroid mode? He was however certain that they do not have the license to do the GBP-1S and any of the Zentradi's stuff! Graham, once his shop opens in Monk Kwok I can introduce you to him. His commission work is not bad either (he won a few competitions), reasonably priced around HK$800 and quick turnover time! He just finished the VF-0D yesterday after three days and looks up to scratch! Ray charges the same kit for HK$3500, okay even my friend admits ray is better but not for that price!
-
My friend is setting up a forum on latest model kits in Japan; there are some bugs still but once up and running things should be made more clear. The downside is it will most likely be in Chinese (which I cannot even read) , will need people to translate! He is even opening a shop selling kits and taking commission orders!
-
Yep, Hase seems like our last hope for new Macross model kits, which is good a since they do get them right and on time, not like some other companies!
-
News on upcoming kits should be either in the upcoming or next issue of Hobby Japan (Japanese edition; Hong Kong edition is not allowed to post it). There is also some bad news for Gundam Seed fans as the PG Seed Gundam is doing very terrible in Japan, BanDai has postponed all custom parts for it until further notice. This does not really bother me but I know some members here will be deeply dissapointed! Andy

Just made a new friend last night who has close connections with Hobby Japan (Japan and Hong Kong) and he told me that Hasegawa are very highly releaseing the VF-11 as early as this summer He builds models and sometimes writes articles for them, so sources are pretty good! Hasegawa has obtained the full license from Big West to do all the Valks, so with any luck more kits should be on its way However the license does not include the rights to make any of the Destroids or the bad guys stuff; they are not even allowed to make a VF-1 with GBP-1S kit So, some good news for us knowing that not all big toy companies have abandoned Macross Andy

Now this worries me not that I do not want the fold booster but I did prefer those fast packs! Will try and get confirmation, Andy -

Not sure as I asked two of my friend who have been to the WF to source me anything godd and Macross related. One of them have already e-mailed me and said he bought the YF-19 Fast Packs. I mentioned UN Balance booth at section A06 or A08, so I assume they were the only one at WF Andy PS I will get pics up the moment I get my hands on them -
I am not sure how well they did but it is almost quite certain that they did not produced a lot of them as not many fans know about this mecha, unless of course they played the game Shops over here are also reluctatnt to stock them up, so only bigger shops have them and sales look not too bright as everytimne I pass by it is still there Andy
-
Another reason I believe why Yamato has not been pumping out too many new Macross toys because recent trends have been smaller and cheaper toys, such as Gachapons Selling in quantatiy is better than quality, not to mention the high cost in research and development in those big transformable toys Andy
