  1. I have shipped numerous 1/48 Yammies from Hong Kong to the States and basically there are couple of prices, air parcel or EMS, both offers tracking and are calculated by weight (with an increasement of every 500gms).

To ship a 1/48 from Hong Kong to the States via air parcel will set one back around $20-40, depending on valk and method of packing. The most inexpensive way to pack and ship is to wrap the Yammie box with bubble wrap & an outer paper shell. For those who want to have their Yammie boxes in pristine conditions, one will need to pack the Yammie box in a bigger box for shipping. This is safer but also more costly.

Back to shipping boxes, well you can buy them at stationary shops or post office but you can also get recycled ones found at most retail shops, supermarket is a good place to go!

  2. The kit you bought in Japan was the 1/72 VF-4 Lighting fighter mode made by Hobby Base Retppu. It is long out of production but you can find it every now and then either here on MacrossWorld offered by a member or on Ebay.

No toys or model kits were made of this fighter valk, only garage resin or vinyl kits. Sizes range from 1/144, 1/100 and 1/72. the two smaller sizes were produced by Yellow Submarine and the bigger scale by the before mentioned company Musasiya and Club-M. I also released one modified version based of the Musasiya kit, however it is all sold out.

  3. A few shops here in Hong Kong still have them in stock. Comnes around to US$210-215 shipped to the US. Shipping will be via first class trackable air mail and item bubble wrapped with waterproof outer paper shell.

If you are interested let me know!

  4. Been going through some of my old books and found these, the E-Graphics Jumbo Macross cards! There are 15 in total (12 regulars and 3 specials). The cards were offered in gashapon like machines, each card measures about an A5 in size, clear plastic coated and best of all, it allows you to punch-out a post card!

  5. Have you tried ordering repacement parts directly from BanDai or from authorised wholesalers? I know HLJ use to have this service. It should save you some money rather than getting a whole kit but you will need to be patient as it could take a several weeks or months.

Also, I know it is a fairly common practice to sell completed kits (professionally done or basic snap & fit) on Yahoo JP. The later can be bought at very reasonable prices!

  6. The figures you are talking about, are they the flesh coloured ones and still on the sprue? If so, I believe eight were issued and randomly packed in black bags and placed in the kits.

They are made out of a more rubber like plastic and do not bond well with paint, at least on my attempts many years back!

  7. Sorry to hear what has happened to your new joy! Hope someone hear will be able to help you out as if you use the wrong stuff to get rid of the excess panel lining, you might weaken the actual plastic.

Also, with Gundam Markers, I believe there are two types, permanent and water based. Next timer try asking the shop clerk for ther water based type.

  8. Thanks for the clarification on those promo cards! However, I guess the info on the Macross Compendium is not too correct, maybe there was insufficient info or something got lost in translation. I have to double check with my cards as if I am correct, there are "Not For Sale" printed on them. Furthermore it would not make any sense to issue nine cards in a ten pack, unless there are more cards to collect or cards from another anime series!

  9. Placed an order alreday yesterday, two thumbs up for the great work!

The pilots will help me complete a Club-M VE-1 kit I have! I will need to do some modifications but should be very straight forward.

  10. I have those promo cards too, I stumbled across them as a complete set, lucky me! They are as already mentioned out of paper and not plastic. Any info when and where they were handed out (I assume they were for free as they are afterall promo cards)?

Since I am at it, does anyone have any rare Broccoli cards for sale or trade? I am after the SP01 and CS01 cards.

  11. So, here is a thread on MW, which is all about 1/6 figures...good for me!

I recently started again in collecting a few figs here and there and my latest addition is the Medicom Ghost in the Shell Motoko and I must say she looks hot! I also pre-ordered the Sideshow G I Joe Snake Eyes but the release date got apparently pushed back from Jan to Mar.

Now I am getting hooked on the beautiful Iron Man MKIII but heard qc issues, so any feedbacks from members who actually have the fig?

  12. Toy companies are not releasing any VF-4 products is most likely because of the license issue. The VF-4 was featured in the FlashBack animation. The animation was very short with many old clips and most importantly no new mechas besides the VF-4, which only appeared for like less than a minute. Viewing this as a corporation, the figures just does not add up making it worthwhile obtaining the license!
