Collector's Market Crash... Is A New One Coming?
baronv replied to Penguin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I agree, all this collecting with mint in box, uncreased, C-9, F-14 or whatever grading things are. They are toys, and in the long run there are so many collectors out there now these won't go sky high as everyone expects. This topic was brought up before and some MW memebers were saying that these toys were better investments than sotcks and real estate which I find preposterous in the long run. Stocks and real estate everyone needs, toys...not so much. -
I agree, I was thinking on the drive to work that I hope they make a JLU direct to video movie. Maybe bring ing Power Girl aka Supergirl clone or something back along with the Legion or Ultimen, those were great shows. Or maybe make what all fans have been waiting for....a JLU-style Kingdom Come film. Just like hoe Marvel made the craptastic Ultimate Avengers DVD, DC should step it up and make a KC direct to video movie....but make it good.

Oh snap. a WWI Jetfire, can anyone tell if his face mask is able to fold up and over his face...with and without mouth-type mask like in the comic that shows him more like a Valk?

Just watched the final two seasons of Justce League, and man were the fights and battles pretty brutal. The final episode "Destroyer" ended well, a nice capping off to the series. The one episode that stands out in my mind is the "Ancient History", which showed a pretty nice love triangle, murder AND suicide by the main characters. Sad to see the show go, but it was always jumping around Toonami and I only got to watch it via DVDs.

FInally saw the DVD and and after reading the comics and even buying the semi-animated UA comic DVD, this cartoon version really sucked. I fell asleep near the end and the story was pretty much changed completly. The only thing that really stayed true to the comic book was the journey of Cap in the current world, and even that was weak compared to the comic book. I'd have to say this DVD was 15% true to the comic, and if they were going to stray that far off from the comic book, why couldn't they just make a regular "Avengers" cartoon and not try and tie it into the Ultimates line, the whole point of the Ultimates Avengers comic I thought was to have a mature and real-world version of the characters which this DVD did not. 1 outta 4 stars for me.

Fables & The Walking Dead are what I like to catch up on, Fables being the funnest to read. I also just started reading Supreme Power VOl 1 & 3 and dig those books on alt. JLA architype books.

Wasn't there a thread for this a while back? Oh well, I'd still liek to see Hikaru Max, & Roy in their SDF:Macross t.v. series pilot and uniforms. I prefer the t.v.s series designs and can't get into the DYRL uniforms, what's up with the funky shoulder pads? Also, Guld from M+. I picked up the Claudia and Minmay in Chinese dress from the Banpresto line since I didn't want to wait for them. Capt. Gloval!

Well maybe due to SaveRobotech's news all the griping and whining on the two new "toys" can stop for now until the real colors are shown.

You scored as Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica). You are leery of your surroundings, and with good reason. Anyone could be a cylon. But you have close friends and you know they would never hurt you. Now if only the damn XO would stop drinking. Galactica (Battlestar: Galactica) 81% Deep Space Nine (Star Trek) 69% Babylon 5 (Babylon 5) 63% FBI's X-Files Division (The X-Files) 63% Millennium Falcon (Star Wars) 63% Serenity (Firefly) 63% Andromeda Ascendant (Andromeda) 56% SG-1 (Stargate) 56% Moya (Farscape) 50% Enterprise D (Star Trek) 50% Nebuchadnezzar (The Matrix) 44% Bebop (Cowboy Bebop) 44%

Are there any pics of the stealth valk in battroid mode? It looks interesting, but need to figure out the look of it in all three modes. If the camo-valk is limited, I bet all those who post saying they think it's ugly and would not buy it, after it disappears off teh shelf will be clamoring for it like collectors do to complet their collections.

Damn nice that they are making a War Within Prime, does anyone know what outlets will be selling these? I've just gone collecting the 3 volumes of the War Within trade paperbacks and the Prime look is pretty nice and now with this toy I don't have to shell out the big bucks for the WW Prime statue that was made last year.

If they make this low viz a VF-1S, then I'll break down and finally buy a 1/48 valk.

Dang, that's still a nice looking bike.

Anyone putting a group together for Anime Expo?

Pics keep getting better and better.

Is that a real robot, it looks to me that it may bg CGI.
-
So anyone know what reputable site out there has the best price to pre-order the VF-0S?

What happened to Thor's beard!? The animation looks more the like 90's Spiderman animated series which doesn't really fit with the look of the comic version. Just looking to see how close they kept to the story. Remember this had the Hulk killing people and Giant Man physically abusing the Wasp at their home.

Macross Series - Good story that kept me interested in the characters and not just the mecha. (9/10) DYRL - It was a good looking movie, but the story was too mismashed together and hurried that the film suffered in it's storytelling. (7.5/10) Flashback - Apart from the last few minutes showing the updated clip of the Macross folks, I thought it was cheesy and not all the songs were that memorable at all. (4/10) Macross 2 - I liked the mecha of the heroes and Marduk's as well. And I really like Ishtar. Storywise, it was bland but not bad. (7/10) Macross 7 - Dig the VF-17 and VF-11s, even the VF-19 Blazer. But the whole "I gotta sing instead of fight" angle was the ultimate in annoying. (4/10) Macross Plus - Great action sequences, animation was fine. The whole duel-romance thing was too hokey and much like a daytime soap opera for me to really like. (8/10) Macross Zero - The bits of action were nice, though not as good as SDF Macross, DYRL or M+. The whole story with the birdman and the blood samples and the flying feathered VF-0 irritated me and ended on a "What the?" type of note. (7/10)

the instruction of Robotech Veritech Hovr Tank
baronv replied to ghiblione's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I have two of those hover tanks, didn't pay too much and I like 'em since they are pretty huge toys. -
Does anyone know if this one is the FX bootleg of the AnimEgo re-mastered set? Is it any good? http://www.sundevildvd.com/store/product.p...41&cat=0&page=1

No strfing, I did wish there was. The turning around and stepping became tedious especially if you're trying to run n' gun...but no strafing?!

Nice. After all the hoo-ha going on 1/48s, I still prefer the 1/60 for best scale with other Macross toys.
