  1. Just saw the movie, if you go in expecting Godfather or even Superman I(Christopher Reeves) then you'll be disappointed. But if you go in expecting cheesy, fanboy-type movie like Hulk & Daredevil then it'll be o.k. The special effects contrary to opinion here were good. Good: Special effects, Nick Cage as Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider costume looking like the 90's style Marvel Comics with the spikes and chain. Eve Mendes' boobs. Bad: Bad guys were killed too easily, dangling plot lines and no history on the legacy of Ghost Riders. The devil vs. son plot was weak. Romance plot line very generic. Hoping for a direct to DVD sequel that has a bit more action and more "vengeance" giving by GH. Looking forward to the 300 movie next month.
  2. Well I'd dig it if you scanned all 5 comics so we wouldn't have to wait 10 years for Wildstorm to reprint them.
  3. Well, since I haven't bought any new Macross items as of late I think I'd resurrect this thread by adding my last acquisition of cels from Gundam: 0080 War in the Pocket. Once cel is of the hard to find MS-18E Kampfer enemy cel and also I finally have a cel of one of the stars, Bernard "Bernie" Wiseman the Zaku pilot. I've seen this cel of Bernie on Rubberslug from one of my fellow members there and liked it a lot since it's from the pivotal moment at the end of the series when Bernie videos his last will/message before he goes off to fight his last battle.
  4. Cels, cels, cels! I agree with Fortess M. that unlike buying Macross toys there is less stress since with the cel if you do find a Macross cel you just buy it and like it without any complaints since there's not a lot out there. With the toys, if you get a defective one then you're going to complain since there'll be tons out there and you got stuck with the one with the bad QC. It's kinda getting crazy that the Macross toys are now reaching the same price as middle- to high-priced Macross cels. I can probably pick up a one-of-a-kinda cel that no one in the world else will have for the same price as the YF-19 w/ FP. Heck, I paid the same price for my YF-19 anime cel for less than the price of the 1/60 version...and no one else has it. I think I'm going to buy the old 1/72 YF-19 when hopefully the price of them come down on eBay or in the MW for sale section when people start upgrading to the 1/60 scale since I need the ver. 1 to go along wiht my 1/72 YF-22. VF-11 and the YF-19 Ravens type I have.
  5. $46 for the 5 comic set is just too much, guess I'll have to wait until the trade paperback comes out.
  6. Whoa, there's a pretty nice Omega Supreme statue being made just shown at Toy Fair. http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&...155&start=0
  7. Well so I'm guessing that a lot of us haven't read the SC "Prelude" comic, does anyone have scans or .pdfs of the series for us to view?
  8. As a Robotech fan I give SC a 7.5 out of 10. As a regular movie watcher I give SC a 4 out of 10. As a RT fan I liked seeing a continuation of the RT storyline even if the story was only so-so (but after watching other anime I didn;t think the storyline was that bad, it seemed like every average anime to me), seeing the mecha again and apart from everyone else's opinion I did like the 2D artwork used. As a regular movie watcher I did not like how the movie ended with the hanging plot points (seeing how long it to SC to come out on DVD I expect the sequel to come out in 2018). The 3D battles ARE jarring to see, wish they kept them animated like in Mac Zero or Yukikaze. I was hoping to see some ground battles on earth vs. the Invid. The backgrounds on the characters were pretty sparse. And finally...boobs, yes they are big and distracting sometimess...but especially on Ariel and Janice's bodies sine for some reason they wear the super low V-neck suits. P.s. What happened to the special features section? It was just a trailer and fan documentary? Not even the United Nations trailer. I did not like how when the producers and HG employees discussed RT or showed clips it was only Mosepeada no mention of Macross or Southern Cross or why it took so long for SC to get back on-screen.
  9. Well I just watched the SC yesterday and after seeing it I was wondering when Toynami would make the Alphas available again with the new paint schemes and then BAM on MW here s the new thread. The Cyclones look nice but looks very much like the oldschool version. While the black/purple Maia Sterling Alpha looks o.k., I don't need anymore Alphas, I want a Beta especially after so much screen time in the movie.
  10. Nice, I do wish the booster was some other color than green.
  11. That is awesome. I have that Mazinger in the black/silver version.
  12. Anyone know when there will be official confirmation from Yamato on the date this puppy will be out?
  13. Just got SC last night, will watch it later. Man from those screen caps of the ladies, besides the big boobs....what's up with the freakish long skinny arms?
  14. I got my Guyver I at Frank & Sons late last year for I think between $40-50, kinda expensive since it is a small toy and nothing too amazing about it, but it's the only game in town. The one I got was the second run with the two different heads of Guyver. I haven't seen Guyver III at all, and the last I've seen Guyver II selling was on Yes! Asia.com up until last November right when I wanted to buy it and now they're out of stock. Dang it.
  15. Man, I think even though I don't want to I may have to buy the SC on DVD. My Blockbuster has it listed as "Very Long Wait" which means something like maybe a couple months until I get it. Oh well, I did see a ton of stock of the DVDs at Best Buy and Walmart today.
  16. So has anyone found SC in any of their local stores (Best Buy, Target, etc.) today?
  17. Nice. I recently saw one of these types of figures modded as Firefly from G.I. Joe, it was sweet looking and $30, but I'm a 3 3/4" Joe fan myself.
  18. Da-dum-dum-dum! Link to the full-streaming Dead or Alive movie: http://www.destructoid.com/the-entire-doa-movie-29535.phtml Be warned, it is as cheesy as you thought it was going to be.
  19. Blackout looks ok, though why is he blue and in the caps I seen from the movie he's gray?
  20. I also just realized that in the video Tony Stark is anti-weapons so much that he fights his father regarding the direction of the company in it's militaristic ways, but here he goes and creates dozens of Iron Man armor (for what reason I couldn't understand still) including the missile/gatling gun/rocket launcher War Machine armor. I guess he needed those nukes to help excavate ancient ruins.
  21. I also watched this new Guyver OVA, so is it official there will be no continuation after Sho becomes the super-guyver thing at the end of the series? I am also hoping they re-release the PVC figures of Guyver II & III soon.
  22. I didn't understand that video at all. I think I hurt myself watching it.
  23. Can anyone here confirm if Target has stopped selling in their stores the 6" TF Titainum line? I saw on the TFC2005 boards that they stopped stocking them. Which would be a shame since I want the Rodimus Prime titanium version.
  24. Does anyone know if or when Bandai will bring out a 1/100 Master Grade version of the Zudah?
  25. I remember the Baroness with the removable glasses, it was pretty horrific since it also had to be pretty big to fit on her face so it was no better. I think they should have given her more of a rectangular glass with smaller lines for the frames of the glasses, heck give her sunglasses instead. I also vote for Firefly in the 25th anniv. set, his original 3 3/4 figure was my 2nd favorite behind Storm Shadow and just ahead of Snake Eyes. I would love it if they created a Rock & Roll figures since he was one of the originals.
