I do think the BSG 3" Titaniums were usually sold out where I am at. The only ones that sit a while were the Cylon Raider Scar which I find once in a while. Same with the Action Fleet size BSG Titanium. I'll miss that line if they cancel the 3" line since that's where I buy the capital ships from the series' I like.

Oh my, those photos make the SV-51 super sweet looking even more! I guess my saving up for a new golf driver club will be replaced by this new toy instead. Hopefully they won't make me pay big bucks if I get this at Frank & Sons.

Well I'm hoping to still run into the 6" Titanium The Fallen, Ultra Magnus (G1 and WWI version) and was Grimlock 6" WWI version coming out still? Also, after watching the TF movie I decided I wanted the 6" TF movie titanium Prime but now they've sold out and none of the Targets have restocked them and they're exclusive to the store as well. Drats.

I wonder how MP SS will do at Walmart this time. When MP Prime came out my friend and I pre-ordered through KB Toys since we thought they would be in short supply. A few months later, MP Prime is on clearance for $40 at Walmart.

Hot dang, 1st gen Snake Eyes aka Commando SE is just cool looking. That's the version I was never able to get as a kid and want from the 2th anniv. series.

Harry Pottter and the order of the phoenix
baronv replied to jwinges's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Watched it today. I'd have to rank this movie as my least favorite of the other movies (I never read the books). I think the reason I didn;t like it as much is that the kids didn't really learn something new or meet interesting people/magical creatures here. The only time the movie felt like the other movies was when the kids get together and learn spells and practice. Probably the only other memorable scene was the battle at the end which was nice. This movie felt more like Harry either pitying himself or angry back and forth. I'm guessing since everyone says that the book was the longest, then that explains why there seemed to be a lot of missing explanation in the movie. Well maybe there will be a cliff notes on the Harry Potter books in the future. 3/5 stars for me. -

It's nice that Aoshima is doing the 16" resin, it'll be too expensive for me though. With the cancellation of the series I'm sad that there's no possibility of Hasbro doing a large scale 70s BSG Titanium ship like they did for the 2000 version. -
I'm fine with the new movie designs once I accepted that the movie was not about doing a faithful reproduction of the G1 cartoon. I think if Bay did want to go with more "alien" looks to the TFs, he could have at least gone in the direction of the War Within comics/Titanium toy line. Those TFs meged an alien/futuristic look with G1 designs. p.s. I also agree that it would've been nice to have some type of TF theme in the movie, the one by Linkin Park wasn't anything special or even related to the movie. Michael Bay, for TF: Part II, lemme suggest....You got the touch...by Fatboy Slim or by RZA from Wu tang. Yeaaah boooyyy.

Great looking piece, can you pose it next to a 1/60 and 1/48 valk for size comparison?

I thought the movie was good, 3.5 outta 5. Would've been a solid 4 if they showed more of the TF in the beginning or fleshe dout the autobots or decepticons. Besides OP and Bumblebee, there were no personalities to any of the other robots. Heck besides Starscreams 1 lines to Megatron the other Decepticons didn't talk at all. I really liked the OP vs. Bonecrusher dual, best fight of the movies. Thanks for the cleariing up of Barricades, I was also wondering why he was missing at the end. Just push aside this being a G1 movie and accept it as the next evolution of the TF franchise like beast wars, machines, armada, cybertron, energon, etc. and then you won't get disappointed. Originally I wasn't going to see it since it wasn't pure G1, but it was a good flick overall. About the no mass shifting, how then did Frenzy change into the Razr phone, it looked a lot smaller than he could transform into?

Hope that's true, would also like to see transferred from the Titanium line Arcee and WW Bumblebee.

I agree with Pat that the food costs were high at LBCC, I saw they were selling greasy pizza slices for a whopping $8. One slice! Convention food for you. If it's true that next year it's at the LA Convention Center, heck no I will definitely not be going. I worked near that area and I feel bad for the kids cosplaying walking around outside who will get mugged, groped by homeless people and shot in a drive-by by gangs.
-
That figure does look good, maybe repaint as Mireya in her off-duty outfit?
-
I didn't mind LBCC, thought I still would prefer ACC since it's closer to me since I live in So. Orange County. I did like how the outside area where all the cosplayers were was more open, but it did make them spread out more so I had to keep walking back and forth to take photos. Didn't find anything really to buy except a cel, and the artist alley was mostly young artists and I thought it would have more comic professionals like at SDCC. Though this was my 3rd time at AX, it's probably my last. Most of the anime and cosplayers and items sold are for series that I have no clue about since I grew up in the 80s and the most recent anime I've watched was the new Guyver series. So all the items and people I see I don't have a clue who they are and don't find it interesting. I recognized Lion-O, Soundwave and some Gundam cosplayers, the rest I was "huh?" Will maybe hit SCC just to get some comissioned artwork and then I'm done with Cons. Officially feeling old.

Harmony Gold having troubles?
baronv replied to kamikaze_kamujin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I was at AX at the panel and at the HG booth (didn't see Tommy though) but the deal is that even though it was jut a pie, that still was an unprovoked physical assault. Tommy or any attendants to a Con shouldn't have to worry about getting attacked by a crazed fan, this a a anime convention not green peace fighting global warming. You could see Tommy holding onto the guy so he doesn't get away once he was hit. Tommy seems nice, but he should've tackled him and called the other guys at the booth to hold him until the cops were called. If you or anyone is willing to take a pie to the face for no reason then more power to you. But if a stranger did that to me or my family I would take him down immediately. There's a line between being mean & obnoxious on the internet (seems like everyone does that anyways), but to actually plan a hit on someone, even with a pie, is just sad and disturbing to be that callous over a 20 yr. old CARTOON. I mean I like Macross & Robotech, but I have a life that I enjoy besides this "hobby". -
I was posting my photos from this weekend's Anime Expo on another site but someone posted some shots from Saturday night of a guy who made a Battroid mode of the Hikaru VF-1S (or TF Jetfire since it has no symbols) that turns into a decent gerwalk mode. Did anyone else see him? I left before 6pm on Saturday and never saw this guy.

Here's some additional shots I took of the two new Shadow Chronicles toys. Some of the mini mate figures, the Sterling and Shadow fighter Alphas as well as the diagram with the call-outs on the improvements to the Alpha that Toynami made. As noted in their AX speech, the Beta is scheduled to come out this Winter 2007 and it will be more than $100 I could hear from the HG panel. But Tommy Yune said that since they were able to team with Aoshima and now the consumer based is widened with the Japanese market since pairing, they can now produce the Beta.

Just went to Anime Expo on Saturday and picked up a Roy Focker VF-1S cel from DYRL with him gunning down a regult. There was one closer shot of just the VF-1S that I was looking at, but when I came back to the Anime-Link booth someone bought that version. So which of you Macross Worlders was it?????
-
Well I finally registered for Saturday online, so I guess I'll report anything interesting from the HG panel at AX on Saturday. I'm hoping to do a badge pick-up on Thursday so I won't have to wait in line Sat. morning, so I'm gonna take the wife with me so I can use the carpool lane to Long Beach.
-
That is nice, I guess I will break my "no more toys" buying rule.
-
So does anyone think if Toynami will make any Beta annoucements at Anime Expo or Comic Con? I'm thinking of going to Anime Expo next week and HG will be hosting a panel again.

With the cancellation of the series now the die-cast Hasbro Titanium line is going to stop. I was hoping they would create the current and 70's version of the Basestars. -
Well here's the first look of the new Transformers cartoon. Read it and weep. http://picsmcgee.com/displayimage.php?album=34&pos=30

I actually checked out the book last year but never got around to reading it, was pointed to it as a quasi-vampire/zombie book with a last man on earth theme. The movie trailer didn't really thrill me too much, but the premise of the book is interesting. Wonder why they moved the locale from LA to NY though.
