Hm... I didn't preorder the Alto as I already own the Renewal. I wonder if the engineering has been changed enough to improve the hips and shoulders... Or is the VF-25 design just impossible to recreate in figure form without joints that get loose over time?

Finally got them in today! Surprisingly fun despite the parts forming. However, I really wish they had at least tampo printed the SMS logos...

Honestly, I couldn't be more excited for this. The YF-21 is my absolute favorite Valk in the entirety of Macross, and even though it already has a number of issues accuracy-wise, having a transformable YF-21 that won't collapse in my hands or fall apart is more than I can ask for.

If only their heads weren't a separate piece. If there's something the SD Infinity got right, it was having two separate heads of differing sizes depending on whether you wanted proper SD proportions or a perfect-transformation desk toy.

Now I'm worried that it won't be a perfect transformer like the SD Infinity. Not sure if it has a smaller Battroid head like the SD Infinity for transformation or if there's only one head that needs to be stored separately.

OMG. I love fully transformable Macross Valks! I already have the SD Infinity one, so I wonder why they went and made a whole new sculpt/line. Perhaps the old one was too complex and fiddly? The transformation looks to be even further simplified here. They also seem to want to make the design more standardized to fit in with the Valk designs from other series. Still haven't managed to get a Hi-Comical VF-1 till this day... (TT.TT)

The YF-21 is my favorite Valk, and Bandai has yet again let me down...

WHAT ...I mean, okay, but ...WHAT. Also, it's not Bluetooth, but infrared. I highly doubt it's actually a functioning microphone. Probably going to be just a toy that plays music and voice clips like the other Proplica replicas. The infrared sensors are going to allow the two mics to communicate with each other for duets and conversations.

I think the term "scale figures" commonly refers to non-poseable completed PVC statues ala the ones from Megahouse, Alter, Kotobukiya, Wave, GSC, etc...

Is there any way to get the head in closer to the underside of the plane? Unlike the 1J, those head lasers seem to stick out much further.

Meh, just said screw it and went for it. Good to just get it out of the way and not have to think about it. Especially if it will double in price later on down the line.
