OH YEAH!!! My VF-19 Kai ust arrived today and it's AWESOME!!! Seriously, it's tight, has a wonderfully ingeniously complex yet simple transformation, numerous gimmicks, and I was actually surprised that most of the yellow is actually molded plastic. It's such a step up from the Hi-Metal and YF-19 it's unbelievable! For those having problems with the thigh section, I highly recommend watching this video that Yamato has put up. Their method of putting one finger on the wing and one on the thigh joint is great and really helped me swing the GERWALK joint down easily and avoid breakage:

Is it really that hard accepting the VF-19 Kai and it's special controls? I mean, it's not any weirder than a giant war loving alien race with no culture that goes limp when listening to music, nor is it weirder than a virtual idol that gains sentience through the installation of a special bio-neural chip and falls in love with a human, nor is it weirder than alien bugs that travel light years across galaxies to save a girl infected with a virus that lives in her gut allowing her to generate fold waves through her singing.

Whee!!! Finally made my payment today. If I'm lucky, it should arrive on Saturday, latest by Monday. (^o^)

I have a question. Do the Die Cast parts chip paint easily?

Sad to say that I can't feel the excitement for a Blazer as I base my collection on main hero Valks and their pilots and not for the mecha itself.. Not really into side characters or grunts. Perhaps that's why I'm not as affected by the design as you guys... Hm...

Though it's pretty much guaranteed to never be made, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Love Mylene to death and would indeed kill for her personal valk.

Maybe that wa a wring choice of words, but kinda getting bummed out by the negativity. (^.^')

While I can understand where you are coming from, it's your opinion. Really interesting to find that years after Macross 7, people still harbor so much hate for a design. Boobs and faces on Mecha? Why the hell not? It's something different, unique and completely in character with Macross 7. Don't get the hate for the Super Robots. Perhaps it's just that it's too different and strays too far form people's pre-conceived notions of what a Mecross Valk should and shouldn't be. The Macross franchise is not limited to these self-imposed restrictions it can be whatever it wants to be. I for one welcome change and embrace the VF-19 Kai's designs for what it is. An awesome, flaming, stylish and robust Valkyrie. Besides, even if you hate it, there are still a ton of other Valks created by Yamato that should satisfy everyone's needs. No need to rain on other people's parade.

Ooh... Die-cast... Worried about paint scratching now.

Wow, it's been in plain sight all this while? Also, still not seeing the McDonald's in the VF-19 Kai.

Just saying, it's impossible to get a good toy with accurate proportions, perfect transformation, gimmicks and good build quality at a low price. Especially in this day and age where manufacturing costs are through the roof. Basically, you pay for what you get. (^.^

Shoot, that video just goes to show how damn sturdy and solid the VF-19 is. When is it released again? I can't wait to get my grubby hands on it. (^.^)

That's the reisin prototype from ages ago. You can tell by the gray parts showing behind the paint. The final product has clear eyes.

It is gonna be so epic transforming the figure with Totsugeki Love Heart blasting in the background.

Basara's taste? It is his own customized VF-19 after all.

Ah, that, I can understand. Perhaps it's because I watch a ton of Super Robot stuff (Brave Series and the like) that I'm pretty used to it. But then again, I see it as more of an ornamental/aesthetic design choice on Basara's part than anything else. Thank heavens it doesn't actually move. (^.^ Also, regarding the color scheme, I can understand where people are coming from, but I myself never really did get the 'Ronald McDonald' vibe from it due to the serious lack of white, stripes and a dominance of yellow. If the color scheme was flipped, yeah, I can see the Ronald McDonald. But as it is, it truly is the Fire Valkyrie in my eyes. It's kinda like how Optimus Prime and Spiderman don't remind me of the American Flag at all due to a lack of white, stripes and stars.

No love for Yui? (^.^ But I don't really understand where the hate for mouths come from... It sounds exactly like when people heard that Optimus Prime was going to have a mouth in the first Transformers Movie. What's so unattractive/detracting about it? Personally, I'm not too particular about it and I'm more of the 'if it's in the show most of the time, that's how it should be' kind of guy, so mouth it is!
