Any news on the Sound Booster? (^o^ Just perfect. Must have transformed it over ten times. Fighter to gerwalk to battroid and back to fighter over and over again. So far, all the joints are tight and there are no scratches on paint. Foot joints are definitely looser, but still stays up perfectly in most poses and gerwalk mode.

I'm dying to know if it'll be the D or S first! (^o^)

I definitely agree with everything 1/1 LowViz Lurker said. Each scale of toy serves a different purpose and is meant for a different audience. For instant, my Yamato Valks are really expensive and are mainly for display, with the occasional transformation. The Hi-Metals are great as toys and are fun to fiddle around with, but are still high enough quality to feel good in hand.

Damn, next year is already the 30th Anniversary? I can't wait to see what they are going to put out for it. More on topic, I'll be holding off on the YF-29 till I see its role in the movie.

There is the VF-19P that appeared in the Dynamite OVAs. It's similar in design to the VF-19 Kai, but is white/red. The blue VF-19F/S have short wings.

Interestingly enough, while many don't seem to like Gerwalk modes overall, I absolutely love them. Especially after playing the various Macross games (Macross Ultimate Frontier, etc...). Gerwalk really offers a brilliant balance between maneuverability and speed. There are some things you can't do in either Fighter or Battroid mode that can be done in Gerwalk mode. Not to mention, I really adore the classic walker-mech aesthetic.

Went back and re-read the entire thread and honestly, if Yamato is able to execute all the gimmicks correctly, gunpod hatch, missile bays, landing gear, beam add-on barrel and cockpit, consider me sold!

I don't know... The big back does bother me quite a bit more than the under-arm wings. But then again, I myself adore the VF-19 Gerwalk mode... Here's hoping it actually locks.

Oh yeah, I'm not sure if this question was already answered, but in Gerwalk mode, the arms are not supposed to extend out and remain as guns right? Is there a reason for this? Pic from MMM. I do have to admit that the VF-17 is one kick ass valk. As far as design goes, it's not as flashy or outstandingly striking as any of the other Valks such as the 19, 22 or even 25. I attribute this to its very compact and angular 'stealth' design. It doesn't stand out, but that's exactly why it's unique and in line with its intended purpose. However, as great as it, I don't think I'll be picking one up (unless I suddenly win the lottery or something) as I base my collection on 'main character' Valks that are more 'one of a kind'. Not usually a fan of the grunt 'military' Valks as they don't really have any defining characteristics that differentiate them from one another. Not to mention, other than Gamlin, the other characters don't really get much screentime or development in the series, another reason as to why I'm not terribly excited for a Blazer. But that's just me. (^.^

Count me in for one as well!!! I'd kill for a Mylene Valkyrie. She's one of my favorite girls from the Macross franchise and I'd love to have her Valkyrie. You know, we should really get a petition together.

Nope. The missiles are honest to goodness missiles. Though Basara hates to use them as he is a pacifist. He believes that there is always an alternate way to settle conflicts, hence his constant charging into battle, insisting that everyone listen to his song instead of fight.

You mean v2.0? The first one I think was 1/72 scale and was just a copy of the resin kit from Studio Half Eye. Also, did you guys know that the missiles can be deployed in fighter mode?

Personally, for me, it's always about accuracy. The more accurate to the original Anime and original intention of the creator the better.

...and I just realized a problem with the shiny plastic. After transforming it four times Plane to Battroid to Plain to Battroid to Plane, I noticed that when given the proper angle, some really noticeable scratches appear. Also, anyone having some problems with gaps appearing between the main chest and thighs and the rest of the plane in fighter mode? Edit: New pics with the humans!

I'd so buy a Whale Blood variant. If one is made, I do hope fighter mode will have the appropriate bits un-blooded.

It's close, though I did use a photo enhancing program to play around with the brightness, contrast and saturation, so results may vary. (^.^
