Forgot about the file size... *LOL* I'm looking at a 5 hour total download. That puts it at 11pm. I'll sub it up tomorrow and Friday I think. May yet work on Aria tonight, then.
-
I hear the upload's finished. I will get on this as soon as I'm home. Planned to model for Aria, but I figure I'd better have more than a couple of hours free for modeling, whereas I'm confident I can do your subs in the evening of the rest of the week. Blurring's easy, timing the sub isn't a problem, it's how I do my end credits on Headmasters. you still need to confirm the font you'd like, and what colour it ought to be, Hik. Whatever I get done tonight I'll render as a test for you, so if you can give me the info on what I need tonight, I'll get on it. won't be on a messenger so as to avoid being disturbed, but I'll check this thread before I get to work.

Talk about beating a dead horse. If someone pestered me about the Trypticon voice effects on Headmasters, I'd definitely add them to some form of ignore list.

Announcing Macross Aria: a CGI fan film project
Cypherplex replied to chillyche's topic in Fan Works
I'll still record my audition tonight along with other auditions. Worse comes to worse, you can delete my stuff if it doesn't work I mostly model Transformers, but I'm game. Here's a sample of stuff that isn't Transformers related. As long as there isn't a rush situation, since my personal time is stretched thin as it is, but then again, considering how many people turned me down on my 3D fan project, I feel obligated to contribute where I can. I work exclusively on 3DStudio Max. I've no time to learn another tool of the trade. As long as it's props, ships, vehicles, planets, and backgrounds, I can probably help. These are in order of age. The first is my earliest work, and the last is my most recent. http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/HAL9000-4332382 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Fusee-Lunaire-4332493 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Pok...Opening-4332967 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Tok...-sunset-4333468 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Eva...eofront-4434898 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Saturn-8193557 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Ano...htsaber-4333143 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/R6-...ed-pose-4333416 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/The-City-17497304 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Bounce-Bot-32574231 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/Opt...-Hands-33356342 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/PEA...ogress-34159875 http://xsilverboltx.deviantart.com/art/We-...e-WIP-102442436 -
*Grabs jaw from wherever it landed on the floor and tries to put it back where it goes* *ends up tossing it over his shoulder*

Actually.... Vista's one BIG plus is making DVDs. Very nice, with animated menus and all if you take the time to learn how. It's the ONE reason why I have kept it on one computer when I regressed everything back to XP

Announcing Macross Aria: a CGI fan film project

Shite mate, Jackson sounds like he's right up my alley! Why you no bap me upside the head? Gimme 'till this week end, unless you already have your sights on someone. -
If you need anything for Edgar, lemme know, I'll get on it ASAP.
-
I had bloopers. They were in French, it never occured to me you might have been interested in them
-
*LOL* I think I got it in one shot Knowing Klingon paid off
-
I have a solution for your credits as well, since you can't alter the video. It's what Grimbot usually does on his dubs. First is to credit everyone involved in a separate text file, along with production notes you wish to include, and package all that in your final zip. The second part is that when the original japanese credits roll, you use your subtitler to credit the fandub's cast. Granted, the fandub cast's credit will be able to be turned off, but since we'll need the subs anyway for the alien speech, just add the credits at the end of your subtitle file. And... it's always a good idea to leave the credits unaltered. Less things for the owner to complain about if they ever get on your case about fandubbing and stealing their rights
-
WE are recording right now. Depends when your night ends Beep me about the end credits, I'll just need a high quality render of the vid you want as background, no audio since that'll be up to you, and your credits listing.
-
If you need help for your end credits, wave my way

*shrugs* Considering it's the movie itself, I believe that what it shows on screen is the only reference it needs. Minmay and Hikaru look like they're in a pressurized cockpit when they're cruising around the rings of saturn. It being "just a movie" doesn't really apply. The fact is, it's shown onscreen, that does make it canon for this dub, and I believe that since it is meant to be stand alone, any other outside references should be disreguarded. As for Hik's skills, frankly, he's at least on par with me, if not better. I can guarantee you that doing better is something that would have been very hard, this is definitely one of the most solid fandubs I've seen in years, considering the length of it and all.
-
Surely it's pressurized every now and then, there's a nice scene where the helmet's window is all gone
-
The mic may be there, but does the helmet have an exterior speaker? If it does, I can agree that it would sound like a voice mail effect, but if it doesn't... back to talking in an enclosed bubble of glass (which is all I meant by fishbowl). I'm not really gonna let that drop considering how much you've insisted the whole thing makes the entire production save three female voice actresses suck
-
*nods* I'd say that settles the issue The effect is meant to be an in-cockpit sound thing... talk into a fishbowl, people on the outside do sorta hear a warped sound like that. I'd just call it "spaced up" and leave it at that. Voice effects are tricky, after all, especially when you're trying to go for something that's not been used before. I should know
-
Always a pleasure to break the "snob and silent" stereotype
-
I did note some synching issues myself after the crash into the engine compartment. Minmay was off slightly, but that may be because it's the low quality encode, and I think Hik had to rearrange his sound track to follow the clipped video. It's off by one or two flaps, though, which I've learned is acceptable in a fandub I admit that Fokker's voice did surprise me at first, but I just figured that's what this version of him is about. He is rather gruff in his on-screen action. As for the loud voices and the ones that need to speak up, a leveller would solve that problem. Hit me up on AIM before you do the final high quality, Hik, I'll toss a little program over that calculates the averages of your voice track and adjusts to the specific volume you require.
-
Well, I'd say he was waiting for the HQ version so obviously he was expecting something professional. Hik, for a bunch of amateurs, this is definitely one of the higher quality dubs I've heard. It's on par with TFCog's Beast Wars II stuff, which is quite possibly their best material. *shrugs* I delivered what I was asked for Hayao. He does seem like he's more of a hyper-type persona than what I saw of Robotech, so I think the younger brash voice works well. At the end of the day, though, it's what Hikuro wanted, and he's the boss. Like I tell the people in France when they complain about the French Canadian Transformer names in my dubs: Outdo us Best way to get it the way you want
-
That's why I didn't say anything about the helmet effect. Plus, I've no clue what it's supposed to sound like. If I did, I could probably help, but like you said, I wouldn't be able to wait that long Then again, if it takes that long for the rest of the lines to come in, next time you see me online, I've spotted a few tweaks you might have missed. Nothing major, just stuff that can get fixed while you're in a waiting zone. And a run through a volume leveler of your voice track wouldn't hurt either, especially for a DVD release. You pointed out on TFCog that you were worried about eBay Sellers stealing your audio as a "Rare English Version". Report them on eBay, if you ever see one, or let the buyer know what they're actually paying for. Or simply report to eBay that this is a non-profit project being stolen. That's what the guys at Star Trek: Phase 2 did, and they got their point across. Personally I'm happy with all the voice actors on this. I haven't seen anything of the originals, and have only Robotech as reference (and I never liked their voices anyway). BTW, you've got some spellings wrong in the terms of your 2008 credits Nothing major, and it's not meant as a public humiliation or anything, so that's why I'm letting you know here instead of in private. I'm not enough of a jerk to actually mean it in a bad way, and I'll relay your compliments to Cassa about her Claudia. She wants to wait for the final version in order to watch it, me I'm happy with Low Quality 2008 - Eyesore Productions - Prime Time 3 (Stop motion toy animation) (that should be EYESON, not Eyesore. Don't let Steeljaw see this *LOL*) 2008 - Fyrespawn Production - Transformers Headmasters Autobot Leader - Rodimus Prime (Episodes 4-10 with possible ep 1-3 remixed) (Technically, that's "2008 - AdaptationsGJ / Fyerspawn Productions - Transformers Headmasters UFP" UFP is important, we don't want Hasbro to shut is down And they KNOW we're doing this stuff. They know. And what's that about a remix? I've never heard of that, though I think episode 3 could at least use a SFX track swap with the french version ) 2008 - Scramble City 2.0 - TFCog and DFA (That's Scramble City FVR - TFCog / AdaptationsGJ) There, bet you didn't think I'd come and nitpick on this forum as well, huh?? *grins*
