The Unlicensed Third Party Transformers Thread

That thing looks cool! I've seen a couple video reviews for it. Is there any configuration that makes the trailer mode look better?- 9240 replies

I agree on all counts about Dead End. Just the same, I committed to pre-ordering the whole team. I wouldn't pay $60 plus shipping for such a small figure. But I would pay the combined sum for a large, modernized Menasor...despite him having one weak component.- 9240 replies

Crud. And I've been waiting for a new Starscream release. Soundwave will be welcome, though.- 16945 replies

The Stuntibots and Headcommanders look excellent. It's a shame that official homage products seldom (if at all) come very close to hitting all the marks these things do.- 9240 replies

Ditto. Strange. Trailer gets mentioned in the product features, but is missing from the list of the box's contents.- 16945 replies

I found 2 RID Vehicons at Target today. Now I want a FE version to stand between them. I passed on Voyagers Magnus and Thundertron.- 16945 replies

Only Sideburn and Prowl could possibly match that description. And if they do fall under that category, I can't think of any shell-formers that were done better.- 16945 replies

That pic does move Rumble a bit further up the want-o-meter. I found a single set of Combaticons in my local TRU. I had a hunch I'd never see them again, so I bought them. True the $15 per price tag sucks, but the last time I'd been to that store, Deluxes cost quite a bit more. Still haven't opened them. Fiddling with combiners takes up far more time than a typical figure. And I don't have much to spare lately. I moved nearly two months ago, but have yet to assemble the Matty Voltron for the display case.- 16945 replies

Red Dawn Remake---Is nothing sacred???
RD Blade replied to derex3592's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I heard this movie was filmed about three years ago and shelved. But now that Chris of Asgaard is a box office draw, the movie was deemed worthy of a theatrical release. -

He can store 3 tapes. When one is ejected, there's a button or something that prepares the next one to eject. The weapons appear (on the birds, at least) to be integrated into the transformation.- 16945 replies

It's not so bad price-wise. Each lion is huge and detailed. The autotransform gimmick is really my only complaint...although it's a big complaint. The only things about the set that are obscenely overpriced are the pilots. The shipping was robbery as well since the shipments are staggered and we were charged each time, shooting the overall cost of Voltron much beyond what it could have (and should have) been. Again, only one major problem with this one. The joints are too loose to support the weight of the die cast version. Not sure if the joints on the plastic one fared better. But the Toynami Voltron is a damn fine toy and boasts the most screen-accurate black lion I've ever seen.

I'd be glad to loan you mine, but I'm getting ready for a move. Everything's all packed up. Maybe in a week or two if nobody else has stepped up. Edit: Just to be clear, I have a Toynami.
