  1. Nice detail. Huge size. But at about $700-800 after shipping, I might as well be admiring a movie prop or something.

Sure, this hobby seems to support interest in hyper-expensive items like the occasional rare vintage piece, or collectors who keep thousands of dollars worth of Yamato's products in their collections. But deliberately setting out on a piece like this - especially at these economic times - might be something of a mistake.

    Way outta my league.

Agree. It is not a great time to bring out this sort of 'hyper expensive' toy under this diffcult economic time.

1/3000 would be a better choice. It would still be a big toy but a little closer to 1/60 valk's cost.

  2. I hope it`s standing cuz it`s going to be larger in ship mode. Well I`m hoping at least. I sure hope that arm can support the weight of that Cannon!

30cm, it is a great size for this kind of toy.

I guess this is just about the same height as GundamFIX Metal Compositive Pyscho Gundam. That would be better if it use/have the same material and qc.

  3. Good news. Reports from Japanese fans say Yamato is aiming to keep it around the 50,000yen mark (approx. US$500).

Well, no one know how much this 'monster' going to cost, but it IS coming next spring.

That means we all have at least 12 months to save up for this! ;)

  4. The box art on this final release I find to be a bit uninspired....

I guess it is pretty egotistical of me but I much preffer the box art I did for Kicker773's custom VF-1D HERE

Agree, Yamato needs better graphic designers to do their box art.

The new 1/60 looks awesome though. :)

  5. VF-22S!!!

    VF-11B repaint!

and... in 2 years time, yamato will get the FRONTIER license.

you may not believe me now, but i will be saying I TOLD YOU SO 2 years from now... :p

In 2 years, I think it would be very unlikely.

During the release of the new Frontiers movie will be coming later this year, I bet Bandai would hold on the license in a long time...

  6. Lots of stuff coming, some big (as may be displayed on 22 Feb), some small and possibly some stuff that was previously never thought possible.....wait and see (cross fingers, touch wood etc).

Heh, Heh, next few years will be interesting times.

Please tell me Yamato is making 1/60 Monster Mk II, Glaug, Regult and a large size TV version SDF-1.

Any of these will get me exciting! (fingers cross)

  7. Unless you want the tail fins to stick out in battroid mode, there is a limit to how large you can have the tail fins and still store them completely inside the legs.

    Graham

I am a fighter mode man. :p The fighter mode has to looks good!

I would perfer have a BIGGER tail fins in the fighter mode, I don't mind them stick out a little from the lower legs.

  8. This toy blog is saying that in the Feb 22 SDF-1 launch event Yamato will announce a "new full transform large size mechanical Macross product", which may be SDF-1.

If true, they will probably release a TV then a Movie version, and then piss us off with limited weathered versions.

If that turn out to be truth, that would be great! TV version SDF-1 please.

(Just hope he doesn't mix up this with the Bandai Macross Quarter. DX Chogokin prototype would also possible being showed in the Feb 22 !!!)

  9. I'm a 1/100 man too, my collection consist mainly of MG kits, I've been collecting since i was a kid so my collection is kind of large, I think i've got about 35 to 40 MG kits. I haven't really bought any new MG kits in 3 years or so now. My first MG was a Zaku II I got when I was 13, but my first ever gundam model was a 1/60 ZETA Gundam i got when i was 10 from a relative in Hong Kong who came to visit. I suppose its his fault that i'm Gundam mad

I would probably take pictures but i'm lazy and theres a lot of dust on them, so maybe a clean up first before any pictures

Kung Flu. Yes, I find the 1/100 MG kit is the best cause the size, details and the cost are fit into what I want.

And please do take some photos to share your collections. ;)

  10. I thought about gluing the pieces on permanently because doing so sort of destroys trhe "resale value" as transformation is a somewhat big part of the GFF line... but the flopiness and loose pieces were just really really bad, like if you posed it, armor pieces would fall of on its own or something.

And there are a billion RX-78's, but only ONE very modern representation of the Sniper Custom :).

That is a nice GM sniper! ^_^ Love the design, shame that most of the GFF models are very small, I am a 1/100 man.

Here is my 'small' Gundam collection.

  11. I remember a little while back someone had posted pictures of their Garland (I think it was the Proto-Garland, but I'm not positive) with a special set of stickers applied. These are stickers that Yamato makes specially for it.

I've looked through the Yamato USA site but can't find them on there.

Does anyone know where I can find these?

    Thanks.

It is water-base stickers... not sure if any shop outside Japan sell them. Maybe U can try to email Overdrive or HLJ to see if they could order them for you.
