I didn't set my computer or Bittorrent up for anything and downloaded the whole movie in under 3 hours this morning...

May be if you are nice enough to post some pics and convince us that indeed is worth doing this recasting, someone eventually will make them available for you.

Lucky thing I live 5 minutes away from the new Air and Space -humongous-over-the-top museum in Dulles airport in Washington DC.

I would say the problem is that you are thinning the Flat paint too much...may be should mix it with black or use royal blue on the mix... Best way to go is to paint a part you aren't go to see like the inside of 2 pre gluying pieces and see the results before hand.

The Queal-Q ( 1/720 scale ) is a relatively easy to build kit. Few pieces and straight forward instructions. Keep an eye on the side-transversal seam line you'll get when building it; it will need a lot of putty. here's one I built a while back

Holy cow !! that toy cost as much as a VF 1/48 BTW One of most surprising well done animation movies of the decade... I loved it..

may be the animation is not as "great" as ' The Spirits Between' but it might be more of what fan were expenting when it comes to see a real FF movie...

About whether aerodinamics can make a VF-1 lift off the ground or not I can only say this...: - A rocket doesn't have big wings just a lot of extra mighty trusting power and it can fly quite fast and evade other objets in the air. -Although the VF-1 doesn't have vertical stabilizers the "V" stabilizers are variable and may be it uses it vertically for take offs but once in the air with help of the trusters it regains "balance" (or whatever) -Besides since it uses anime magic it may be morphs a bit and becomes smaller after take off.. Just my non-aeronautical-lack-of-engineering-knowledge 2 centipedes...

1st- I believe they have a hint of metallic mix to the paint which makes them look more like toys than models. Is missing battle or/and age weathering... 2nd- the biggest eye-sore there is that the color's hue are too basic, the white is "really" white the blue is "too" blue, etc so the contrasts are too strong. 3rd- some models have too much gloss finish on them 4th- except for that X-29 and the first Hikaru VF-1 which to me look weather perfect. 5th- this guy sold some of his models on e-bay for about $200+ about a couple of months. I think he's currently selling a Max and Millia VF-J versions

If that's the best diorama ever then I guess you aren't too hard to please... Is pretty need indeed but is not quite the best....
