in short.....Hell yeah!!!!!!
-
well the answer is yes, you can just spray any glosson top of it, but as David H stated; without painting there's no point of going to that lenght
-
Well, if you wanna say is a mirror portrait of the character then that's a minus... ...but now a days "all" of the girsl are hormoned or siliconed and most people seems to be fine with it...

Yes, the meltran ship is made with styrene and britaii's is cut the tip off and added Sculpy. Simple actually, but the paint job needs more refining.

Getting what we want... a GOOD quality resin kit
007-vf1 replied to Less than Super Ostrich's topic in Model kits
I will buy the monster if it is a 1/72 scale only ( I read about SMT doing a 1/100). I think their line is great and the Star Wars was superb but they should mix their repertoir a little. Macross is definitively a good option but unlikely to bring a lot of bucks for them. Instead of cutting them off, Lucas F should have made a deal with them. We can only hope on Macross.. -
That pretty much resumes it all. They need painting and some scratch build parts to make them look decent enough. Specially the Britaii ship and also the sdf-1 which need micro-surgical skills to cut, rebuild and glue the pieces back together once you get to cut it right... I think I should repaint mine all over since my skills have improved a lot since. Edit: I should also mention that although some of them look terrible; they are a good source of scale and a decent base to start a scratch build one or modify the current kit

You can also go to mecha dream. Most of the same items but based in the US.. mecha dream

I agree with the camo. The picts are way too wide and too far though. Can you take a closer pic of the battroid without the background?

The guy is a happily married man; he also makes pretty decent money. I also read he uses his car for charity, fund raising and special events ( heck! even movies ). Regardless of how geeky and unconventional it might seem to many; his car is a work of art. ...and deserves some recognition for his work and effort.

Who's your favorite Soul Calibur II Character
007-vf1 replied to Vostok 7's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You just haven't met them yet.... ...and that's why I place the "almost unbeatable" words on it... I can't believe that Cervantes is considered the best player I thought talim was the fastest and hardest to reach... -

I have found that I am almost unbeatable with kilik and talim... but as in any game; it all comes to timing.. -
the airbrush with bottles has the ability to make it easy to change colors while painting. The ones with the cups attached makes it easy to clean up afterwards

1. 1/144 dendrobium 2. FixFigu. 1/144 deep striker 3. 1/48 yamato Vf-1

What I think any anime fan should have pretty much generally this geeky items that are a necesity to be called a fan. I surely don't mean "copy" as in boothleg: 1. copy of the original movie and/or series; or both in the best quality possible. 2. copy of the most precious original toy (or the full series of toys) in the series, in any scale ( to your liking). but most likely the biggest scaled one available( if the toy was released in several scales and different years get a vintage one and a modern version). 3. copy of main resource book or reference data published. 4. poster. 5. a model kit originally released. 6 some miselaneous items ( clothing, key chain, plush toy, original comic book, etc) 7- if possible; at least 1 original anime cel ---- ---- ---- As a Macross fan I would not call myself one unless I had these items... 1 macross gold book 2 DYRL movie, dvd 3 my favorite macross series' chapters in dvd (since video is "obsolete") 4 at least 1 toy of each of the main characters vehicle ( only one if there are several variants on the same type), of the best possible and most accurate released type. (In my case one 1/48, one 1/60 and a 1/3000 SDF-1) 5 1 full series of models of any of the scales relased by any company. (1/144) 6 1 full collection series of the more accurate models ever made. (hasegawa, 1 variant of each). 7 released magazine and books for reference (tia books) 8 Macross perfect memory book 9 Kawamory mecha designs book 10 posters; lots 11 at least 1 original anime cels 12 a miscellaneous item ( stuff like key chains and some of the figure collection, sharpeners) 13 since i like macross plus as well I also have several books, dvds, models and the 1/72 club-m collection 14 one of the biggest and best models produced by any company ever of a main vehicle; 1/48 ultimate strike valk; 1/4000 sdf-1

Is hard to find a "perfect" set of compressor and airbrush since everyone who uses them has a favorite of each and therefore different oppinions... The best thing to do is search on the net for art sites to compare styles and results. Some of them have art forums were they describe their experiences. I did about a month research on ebay, the internet in general and modeling sites to compare prices; keep eye on what's available and how much truly pay for them. But most important, see what results people had and what they use to get the results they want. I would stay away from the $20-50 range of compressors. E-bay has some good deals on them but carefull to buy one without warranty( wether is new or refurbished). In that case you might be better off buying one at walmart. Use one that has at least 2 or more gallons and more than 1 HPs, if you use it to paint a lot. Although some might think is a bit too much for a beginner, on my case I got the handle of an airbrush relatively quick and realize the compressor would only last 20-30minutes before shutting down for good. When you paint a hasegawa battroid you'll spend about 1 or more hours between painting it with changing colors. Is always a drag to have to wait 1 hour for the compressor to cool down and start all over. The one I have is 6 HPs and costed me about $140, I have painted 3 hours straight without a problem. The airbrush, well, any type with a high atomization ( particles x cubic cm {or inches})?? and the ability to get thin lines, interchangeable nozzles will do fine. I have a 2 types of paschee, because I found them cheap and wanted to have a feel of them they have survived over 3 years of use and they are getting old but still useful one of them costed me $35 on e-bay. I also have an iwata ( which I haven't used at all in over 2 years) because I thought it would be the best and a long lasting tool (which is true); but since the paschees have done fine all this time I have no need for the iwata, at least for now but is always good to have a back up. I have bent about 3 niddles on accidents by now. You'll realize the grade of the results is up to your ability to do what you want with the tools you have, not necessarily how expensive the tool is. Hope that helps a bit...

Nice...I didn't like the green either...but I can see why it was made on that color instead of blue... Now blow it up to 1600x1200 or so size
-
I agree; is not quite the best show out there but from time to time they bring some interesting points. Just entertainign enough like star trek did on TNG

That is simply incredible...awesome job Gorgon. It needs abetter background though.

some of those paints jobs IMO are a bit overdone. Instead, since you can get away with it, the Darth maul truck looks awesome from the front...

Washington DC Air & Space Museum pics
007-vf1 replied to 007-vf1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yes, the carrier is still there but in the DC museum in downtown Washington...what most people don't know is that this museum annex is about 25 miles from the main "Mall" in Washington DC where the main Air &Space and most museums are; about 3 minutes from the Dulles international Airport and practically on my "back yard"... -
I saw the 4 chapter series I don't know if there were made more than that but it is one of the best CGI/cell mixes I have ever seen. Thumbs up for it.

yeap..I got a bunch of different pics but I didn't think it would be such a great idea to post all of them here... I'll post only some of the ones I got requested on; I wouldn't recomend anyone to go any time soon since they have thousands of perople form Virginia going every day; and the place needs to be finished and expanded -David; I have your Concorde landing gear pic, and yes I went to the observation tower (which isn't that spectacular after all) and took a pic of the Korean air 747 landing; the pic is zoomed. - Unknown target, your enterprise pics, they took sections of the wings to test distress responses because of the Columbia accident.
