I think the suggestion about pricing it according to its length is the best 100 yen/1 USD per 1m of scale length making it about 1200 dollars
-
O_O You do realise that a Battle Frontier to scale with the Quarter would be twice the size of the 1/2000 Yamato DYRL Macross?

Alright... I've downloaded all the rapidshare files-- how do I help seed the torrent?

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!

Parts swapping. Sidearms alpha: Because that would basically require 2 seperate valks due to the anime magic involved in the VF-19. While it may be a partsformer, major portions, like the fuselage, arms, legs etc still have to be re-used and optimized between the different modes. The thin legs give me hope for the fighter mode though -
I think that was just a joke...

That just makes me so glad I pre-ordered it! Maybe the 1/100 RVF-25 will come with ghosts? -
Ouch. Any pics? Were you able to get a replacement?

That's the coating that gives the canopy it's fighter jet like gleam-- I think someone on this forums removed the coating, and all you have is a normal clear canopy. It should be fine.

Oops. I only check it when someone posts something interesting into this thread Mostly due to the long loading time due to the massive number of pictures. Nice to see the clear (?) eye sensor, and the sniper rifle being able to mount underneath in fighter mode unlike the DX. Time to mod a VF-25F so that it can accept both the gunpod and the sniper rifle! Are there any places selling cheap VF-25Fs now?

No doubt that is all true, but we were actually trying to answer the original question, could a VF-19 beat a VF-25 if it was equipped with ISC. So to conclude, I think we all agree that it can, under certain circumstances . Along the way, I think we have teased out some very interesting questions: 1) Why is the VF-25 materials-limited to Mach 5, when previous generation VFs are not? 2) What are the true limits of the ISC? 3) When will the VF-27 model kit finally come out? Ultimately, I have no doubt that the VF-25 is a generation ahead of previous VFs, incorporating ideas from recent real world innovations such as the insane thrust of the PW-F119/135 vs the PW-F110 series, magnetic actuators, and functional exoskeletons. But all the same, we shouldn't put it on a pedestal and claim that it has uber-properties in every area, when it certainly does not. -
Yea but I didn't really like that either--- the first time it happened inside City Frontier looked alot like a homage the Evangelion, and other than that it was only the plot point of normal warheads not working (which in itself requires a leap of imagination) that kept it barely acceptable.

I think The Saint's concern is more for FOD on the flight deck than a notion that sabots and shells will cloud the radar.

I think the stated reason was that DD got himself killed and Roy didn't, but the real reason is probably that people like Roy more than DD

Awww man.. I've watched it like 5 times and still didn't catch that. Guess I should be listening to the lyrics more Must be the puppet sex that distracted me. Anyway, back to the topic: Aliens from another universe, plausible. Aliens from another dimension, makes no sense. -

No idea-- the web orders aren't even open yet! As a guess, I'd say web orders will open in March/April and release in June, if the VF-25F/S super parts are anything to go by (Dec toy, Jan web order and March release). -
I hope so too! But I like I said previously, I don't think Yamato would want to go into direct competition with Bandai, especially since Bandai has the jump on the 1/100 line and can produce a much wider range of valks (due to having access to more licenses). Unless, Yamato has some amazing new breakproof plastic that works well on such small scales and can make their 1/100 line fully PT.

Well, the flight deck should be removable because it needs to dock on the back like in the show Also, as with any cast/mould product, there will be variations in the tightness due to cast/mould tolerances, wear etc etc. -
ooooh white undies.. I like

I was wondering where you'd gone. 50,000 yen seems to be the number most commonly thrown around, but no real data yet.

What's wrong with my Yamato, Bandai, etc.

Sweet! Thanks alot Graham, guess I will be waiting for the VF-1D re-issue then. BTW, Any news about the Macross logo colour change for the VF-11B? -
Azrael gets +1 for innocence But yea I think its either a Mylar balloon, or one of those things where you hit two of them together and it makes a loud sound-- like Korea used in the 2002 World Cup and the Chinese in the 2008 Olympics.

Aww.. I thought the movie was supposed to focus more on Klan... maybe they are trying to slowly segue into the movie, starting from the TV series

Yes, but (and this is the third time I'm stating this), we have no idea what speed the YF-21 was at when it melted. It could be much, much higher than Mach 5. Or just a little bit higher. Since we see Guld disable the limiters, we can infer that the speed is higher than Mach 5.06. How much higher, we don't know. What we do know, however, is that the VF-25 will start melting if it goes faster than Mach 5. Which means that we now have 3 areas where the VF-19/22 series is superior to the VF-25: 1)Atmospheric speed 2)G-limits 3)VF surface material (linked to atmospheric speed) -

Ok you need to get your basic physics right. Go look up circular motion and angular momentum. Of course they do. And when that happens, having a pair of canards like some VF-19s is actually beneficial because you lose less energy when turning. ... You missed my point. Uh... thats just sad. I just used your equations to disprove you. Turning radius is inversely related to Turn rate, like I showed, regardless of velocity-- velocity is just the constant of proportionality that converts from one to the other. Let's look at the sentence shall we? * Maximum airframe design load: 27.5G at maximum acceleration for 120 seconds (When ISC operates, the cockpit is protected from high G.) This sentence asserts 2 things 1) The Max airframe design load is 27.5Gs for 120 seconds. 2) When ISC operates, the cockpit is protected from high G. Nowhere in there does it say that the ISC's protection maxes out at 27.5Gs. Irrelevant Irrelevant
