I'm not too optimistic about this actually, considering that the crotch piece, which would be resting against the base of the neck piece in fighter mode, has to accommodate an additional piece of crotch armour, which means that there is even less space for a longer neck. -

I'm not sure whether the TRTs produce any idle thrust at all-- since the power is generated by a nuclear reactor, and then used to heat up reaction mass, which is expelled to produce thrust, surely if no reaction mass in introduced into the engine then it wouldn't generate any idle thrust. -

Exactly what I was saying, just phrased better. Thanks I was re-watching Frontier and I noticed that all the cannon-fodder coloured VF-25s in the maintenance bay (Episode 16, i think) had the single laser head of the VF-25G, which would contradict the Macross Chronicle translation that all other VF-25s have 2 lasers as well. The CFs were also pictured like the DX toy i.e. with the back of the legs not sticking up above the fuselage -

Sweet screengrab, thanks! I always thought that the SV-51 using the hip guns in Battroid mode was cool. As to the engines, it would mean that the VF-25S would need more maintenance, wouldn't it? I guess it wouldn't be much of a problem if you were the squadron commander. I'm wondering if the engines could be tuned on the fly, say when Alto went to rescue Ranka with the Armoured packs, would the engines have been re-trimmed for maximum performance? -

If the VF-27 could carry any FAST parts, they would definitely have to be different from what the VF-25 uses. But overall the VF-27 looks to be a standalone design much like the YF-19 or -21, with missiles and beam guns and enough weapons even without the Super parts. It also has 50% greater thrust to weight ratio than the VF-25 so any Super parts would be superfluous, so to speak Ultimately, I think the VF-27 is to the VF-25 as the VF-4 is to the VF-1--- more engines, integrated missiles, greater firepower and much higher thrust. -

It could simply be a different design for the landing gear bay covers--- if you look at the super pack and the toy, the super pack actually covers the landing gear bays and so there is a piece that hinges out of the way (outwards)--opposite in direction to the way the landing gear bay doors open (inwards). Maybe this solution could not be implemented for the Armour pack. Another alternative could be that the Armour pack hangs so low that the landing gears are not long enough, which will prompt Bandai to give us longer landing gears (I hope!) -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
edwin3060 replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Barring any QC issues, I'd say we have another winner from Yamato! I'm glad they finally displayed it without the dorsal tail fins with the Super packs on. I'm a little worried about the insignia on the heat shield though-- will it be worn away after repeated transformations? -
I thought the melee combat in M+ was especially well done, and conveyed the message that Isamu and Guld were basically two overgrown kids roughing it up, except with multi-ton war machines, very well.

But Louise Halevy was only hit with the fake GN particles, and Setsuna was hit with that fake GN doped bullet from Ribbons? Louise Halevy has had no exposure to true GN particles at all. Unless Ribbons has yet another source of real GN particles, which would then explain Halevy, but all the GN drives are accounted for and with Celestial being. -

Well, you're the one insinuating that we are jumping to conclusions when all we are doing is the MW equivalent of shooting the breeze-- Look we all know that what we are discussing is ultimately pointless due to the lack of data, but pointing that out like you do so often ends up killing the discussion and having the effect of "stifling debate" like you said. Sketchley: Maybe Egan Loo from the Compendium could share some of his source material with you? The Compendium does seem to have little, if any, bibliography. ChronoReverse: Would my explanation of the relative limits of the pilot and the aircraft make more sense? Previously the pilot would black out before he endangered the aircraft, but now that pilot tolerances have been massively increased due to the ISC, the pilot can fly his VF to pieces before he blacked out, and in the heat of battle he may not notice how hard he is pushing his VF, hence the need for the time limit (and probably some sort of countdown timer/warning alarm in the cockpit) Which brings up another point-- if the VF-25S has the same g-limits as the F or G variants, what makes it special? Quicker response times from the engines? It can't just be the 2 extra head lasers, which are not commonly used anyway. For that matter, have the hip guns on the VF-25 ever been animated firing? -
The head could even more or less be re-used from the VF-25G head--- its the perfect milking-the-mould-but-not-exactly toy for Bandai! The wings would probably fold up like the VF-27.

Yep-- its actually only slightly more expensive than a 1/60 VF-11B. -
Yes, thats certainly true for now. All I'm saying is that when the economy recovers, demand will inevitably outstrip supply which will cause an increase in prices. Anyway, like someone previously calculated on the other threads, with the massive fall in the US dollar against the yen earlier in the year, even with the sales on HLJ, the toys still cost the same in USD. Of course now that the USD has recovered somewhat (or rather the Yen has dropped in value) I guess the toys are slightly cheaper now.

Looking at it another way, without ISC, the pilot will G-LOC before the airframe even reaches its g limits--- with ISC there is no such restriction so the pilot can conceivably fly his plane to pieces, hence the need for the 27.5G, 120 secs guideline. Anyway, Mr March, speculation and discussion is 90% of what makes any fiction interesting-- otherwise you are just being spoon-fed your story and where's the fun in that? -
I hope that they make up for their lack of VFs in the new VF100s line.
-
I'm actually more worried about what happens when the economy recovers--- with the closure of something like half the toymakers in China, when the recovery occurs the demand for toymakers is going to be high, and it will be years before enough factories can open to take up the slack, which might lead to increased toy prices ($500 1/2000? Try $1000! )

Unfortunately it also means that Macross will most likely die off with SK, with any productions made after his retirement etc probably being just money spinners for companies like Bandai ala Macross II. That's not to say that they will be bad (Macross II was certainly fine, and has a loyal following of fans), but Macross fans who live that long would be tremendously lucky (to the point of insane odds), if Macross continued with its compelling storylines.

Maybe SK was influenced by all the current world reports of fighter jets with parts that do not meet spec being grounded... the F-18A-D, F-15 A-D etc... heh. -

Looks like people who are exposed to the fake GN particles turn into Innovator-types? Louise Halevy and Setsuna both have innovator eyes now... Maybe Ribbons was lying when he told Wang Liu Mei that humans could not become innovators. Classic! Watching the OP, i notice there is a scene where 00 shoots at Halevy's new MA resulting in a huge explosion fading out with Saji in newtype mode reaching out in anguish... foreshadowing the death of Halevy? Edit: About Setsuna undergoing innovation--- wouldn't it be nice if he ends up siding with Ribbons and the series ends with Ribbons achieving world domination? There have been so many Gundam series, I think its time for the bad guys to win, setting the stage for Gundam 00 Destiny -

That would totally suck! On the other hand, maybe that means we will get a better sculpt and longer neck+no more bendy lasers, which would rule, which would cancel out the suck. Hmmm. I guess I'll have to wait for more details to come out before I can see whether my decision to buy Super pack Ozma was a mistake Maybe the reason they released the DX Alto and Ozma Super packs as web exclusives and not bundled is because the current design can only accomodate Super packs and the new sculpt can accomodate both Super and Armoured parts? Hmm.. late June eh? Count me in! Although this probably means that Alto Armoured will come out then as well, which means that the DX VF-27 (if it ever comes) is now pushed to September at the earliest. -
Nothing is 'broken' when the paint wears-- its just that-- paint wear. If you play with your toys, you gotta expect some wear!
