There certainly looks to be some design similarities, with the Alpha being smaller and more fighter-like and the Beta being more B-2/ Bomber-like.

May I ask what you used for the sprue that holds the two seats up?

Pic showing that the missile pods on the legs can be jettisoned when empty-- I hope Bandai will build this feature in! -

Oooh really? I had no idea. A handy screenshot would be nice Edit: Found that I already had the screenshot. Good catch, Graham! Edit2: It appears that the Reaction missiles are attached to the weird tubelike things on the back of the wing missile launchers? It would be easy to make reaction missiles that could be attached to the Armoured pack then. -
Amazing! I like the F-14-- we don't see much M0 builds. Did you do the MiG-29 as well?
-
I think it looks great! My model building is still mostly in the sticker/panel-line+ clearcoat stage, so hats off to you!

the artist had a limited colour palette maybe?

Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2

Nope--- I think they will only be made if the line performs well, which, if current indications are anything, it won't (although these are really preliminary signs as only the VF-25F has been released-- the VF-25S, VF-25G and VF-19 Kai will be coming soon.) -
My bad-- I was going off the Collection DX review and they didn't seem to find a locking mechanism. Anyway, there doesn't look to be a peg for locking down the nose.

Nope... we're gonna have to be patient One thing I noticed-- the tail fins are up with the armour packs on when they are supposed to be folded down. -

Great news about the neck and head lasers! Maybe VFTF1 will finally come over to the dark side Really, I would be glad if they included a option to swap the bendy PVC lasers for straight POM or ABS ones-- and a longer neck of course, although that might be a harder problem to solve. A folding head ala the 1/72 kit may be the best solution. If they are going with ball joints I hope the v2 Alto will have the ball joints for the head lasers too! The 1/60 Ranka doesn't look out of scale with the pilot at all, although we probably need more pictures to confirm. Hopefully the fold-communication system can be placed on either Super pack pod, since it is on the wrong pod now! (It should be on the left instead of the right.) The Armour pack having it's own landing gears is soooo Yamato 1/72 YF-21 I hope they figure out a better solution (and lengthen the landing gears at the same time) Sad that they still haven't told us the release date of the Ozma and Alto Super parts!! SDK: The hullabaloo was about the need to change to mould to accomodate accessories in general, not the Armour pack per-se. -
I guess it will be like the YF-21? (i.e. it wont lock down, but just rely on the friction from the hinge) Renato: Well, no one mentioned the wrongly coloured Macross logo on the GN-U DOU VF-11B--- although that may just be because not many people bought it in the first place

Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2
edwin3060 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yea, unfortunately that's about the only way it can balance, which is sad, because the legs actually can bend more than the DX toy due to that additional plug so gerwalk would have been beautiful. Oh well, mine is in fighter mode now, and I don't think I'll be transforming it soon. -
I didn't know the TFs were in 1/60 scale! Nice--- did you have to modify the back of the cockpit at all? Please tell us how you did it! I think this is the clincher for me to get the VF-1D
-
I guess that would require you to order a new cockpit section from Overdrive? Amazing work though.
-
Amazing work! yep I think it is anime magic--- or linear actuators (magnetic), as they call it in the show Just one minor quibble-- in Battroid mode your legs are position ala the DX toy-- they are actually supposed to shift their position lower on the crotch and further back as in the 1/72 model.
-
Nice.. thanks for the link! Most of the scenes are recycled though-- I hope this isn't a foreboding for the movie.
-
Again, Graham has already indicated somewhere (probably on the same VF-11 post) that Yamato will be using smaller pins on the shoulders after the VF-1D, which will hopefully resolve the shoulder problems.

I would think aluminium would be a better choice cost-wise than titanium, and yet not be as heavy as steel. Aluminium would also be more easily machined which would help reduce costs.
