Nope--- subsonic cruise... but it's still no worse than the current teen series fighters so I wouldn't call it slow! Apparently it accelerates like a bat out of hell as well (not surprising given it's massive engine). Besides, Boeing has already stated that the F-15SE is more geared towards DCA, and the stealth features are more or less useless against ground radars (since it is only frontal stealth). In the case of Korea, I think they should go for the F-35s if they want stealth or a F-15K upgraded to F-15SG avionics ( AESA, EW, etc) if they want to supplement their F-15 fleet-- going for the F-15SE is neither here nor there.

Sweet. Can't wait for the scans. Do they show the full armoured pack on the VF-25? Or is it just the partial pack or the clear prototype. Thanks, Graham! -

Yea Anime Export's website seems to be down--- anybody know anything about that? This seems highly dubious! -
Mental remote control systems in Macross

No it doesn't-- the Judah system is an AI-Limiter that is linked to the host RVF-25-- the Ghost is capable of autonomous operation, as shown in the last episode. -

I think you mean 10,800 and 14,800 ? Otherwise it would be pretty insane! But otherwise it sounds like a good price. -

Well you can check Graham's review on the main site (Toy's section) but basically the legs have to be detached and re-attached (therefore not perfect transform) and there are some pieces on the arm you have to remove to mount the gunpod in fighter mode. I'm not to sure about the 1/144, but those are really old? I wouldn't recommend getting them unless you are a completist. The Toynami 1/100 line is much better, for all its faults. -

Alto's VF-171EX did have a custom red and black paint scheme. Bandai is just not capitalising on it yet -

My bad then-- Maybe in the movie the VF-25 will be deployed with the NUNS as well, allowing both Alto and Ozma to pilot VF-25Ss on opposing sides when the Mac 1/4 goes rogue. That Alto-Ozma confrontation will be even more spectacular then! Either way this is just speculation, but having Alto in as many platforms as possible is a money-spinner for Bandai, judging by how the VF-25F DX release is doing better than the VF-25S DX release. -

Well there are rumours of more fixes, like the back of the legs, and there are certainly problem areas that Bandai knows about (and Japanese fans want improvements) but hasn't been fixed yet, like the wings-- so the DX toy is probably not done with improvments. Hehe maybe the pineapple cake curse will come true in the movie? I don't think so though-- both Hikaru and Max ran a VF-1S at the same time so having two -S models is certainly not impossible. -

Oh yea.. that seems pretty likely! A VF-25S with Alto's red and black piping on a white background. Maybe that is why Bandai is investing in improving the VF-25S sculpt! (and also why the VF-25F Armoured pack is a web exclusive rather than a bundled package like the VF-25S Ozma Armoured) -

Actually, I would say exactly the opposite-- all those who bought the first release for the VF-25F and the VF-25S were basically the guinea pigs with the improved versions coming out in April-- and all those who bought the original order at the inflated prices basically got screwed over. My stand now is, hard as it may be, to recognise that MF is a popular series and re-issues/improved versions will usually come out eventually (or within 3 months in the case of the VF-25F/S) and to just wait until either prices drop or the re-issues come out or both. I'll bet that prices of the original release will drop once the April re-issues come out. I've sold off my second VF-25F and my VF-25S, will just keep one -25F for now, and focus on getting the web exclusives which seem to be Bandai's new favoured distribution channel for accessories--- I'll get the VFs off the mass market later. That said, I hope that the news on 2ch about the legs are true! Maybe we will hear some news about them fixing the wings as well...and the landing gear...and the ventral fins... And about the holes-- kitbash RVF-25F, RVF-25S and RVF-25G, here we come! Just for laughs. MJ: The prototype in the picture seems to have a smaller SMS logo on the side of the nose than my DX VF-25F, and the colour of the logo is Ozma's colour and doesn't match the colour they provided for the model kit, which is closer to alto's colour. I hope that's because it's a prototype. -
Great job, you guys! Now everytime I feel guilty about spending on a Macross toy, I can come to this thread and feel better about myself!

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<
edwin3060 replied to Chief Guld Goa Bowman's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Gundam SEED Destiny was the same way as the sequel to Gundam SEED, so it's nothing new. Heh I forgot about all the NGE references in this episode--- makes the other thread discussing NGE references in MF seem trivial, really. -

That's sad. Which parts broke? I thought the VF-25 should be more durable than that. Ghostkiller: Luca will be out on the 28th. -
I agree with you about the "cybernetic conspiracy"-- although I'm hoping that (as with Mac7) Bandai might push for several side OVAs, one of which could more fully delve into the whole Macross Galaxy issue (as well as give us more VF-27 action!). I didn't make the link to NGE though. I actually thought that Alto's family subplot was handled pretty consistently-- throughout the series we are reminded of the tension between his love for flying and his talent at acting-- or, as his adopted brother puts it, how he combined both into the role of a young pilot in desperate times. Azrael: I actually watched MF all in one go because I was previously too busy and missed out! Prior to MF I had only watched Plus and Zero--- I watched Plus all in one go and Zero as it came out. Watching everything in one go probably made me feel more strongly about Plus and MF (although the weaker storyline of Zero may have affected this as well). Only after watching MF did I watch SDFM and DYRL, and I have to say, MF appeals to me more strongly than did SDFM or DYRL-- which may be an indication of my age as much as anything else. Suffice to say, like some previous posters have mentioned, you can't really say MF is better or worse than SDFM or DYRL because the order in which you watch the shows (and the age when you watch them) can affect your feelings as well.

GK, Eugimon: Actually it is (kind of) a mistake, or at the very least a wrong decision--because the whole part is diecast you would have to paint it anyway--regardless of whether you painted it white or blue shouldn't make a difference, fast packs or no. And the different colouring around the hinge of the VF-25S is just weird. MJ: I believe you may well be right! I wonder how they managed to extend the neck then, while allowing it to transform with the Armour pack on (taking into account the crotch armour). If, as it seems likely, they went with the collapsible neck, I hope they make it durable! -
Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2
edwin3060 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Here you go. I hope that helps. The canopy is non-removable, and there's no pilot in the seat. P.S. I was lazy and didn't want to go through the hassle of transforming to fighter so I just plucked the head off and flipped the back plate over! -
Sorry to hear that. Hope you can find a new job soon!

I've gone back and checked my VF-25S--- and that thigh area is painted in the proper colours above and below the gerwalk hinge-- but the hinge itself is not painted. It's less noticeable because it is light grey on dark grey, wheas on the VF-25G it is white on blue. I guess Bandai just decided to forgo painting the entire area from the hinge to the start of the kneecap? Note that the promo photos of the VF-25S had the whole part properly painted as well while the toy did not. That explains the discrepancy between the promo shots and the actual toy-- a little false advertising by Bandai I guess. Please do keep us updated on your fix, and whether you can achieve the same finish as the toy on that part!
